You know, once you complete Annihilate and beat the story mode you think you are soooo good. And then you go do a challenge run and select this level out of curiosity. At that point you realize there is still much for you to learn.
first you beat beat story mode and think ur sooooo frikin awesome, then you discover Fox, and surprisingly beat it, then Mortal Kombat comes, and after more than like 20 tries, you beat it. *then you realize that theres a hardcore mode*
i randomly got to A, and somehow, I couldn't A rank Cool Friends or Paper Dolls, but I've R ranked almost all other levels. My streak for S rank annihhilation rn: 4
OK I just got S in MK after hitting 25000 points. Apparently if you are not as good as this guy, you can keep re-enter the song until you get an easy seed and practice on that. Because if you hit restart track, the seed remains the same, so Johnny Cages will spawn with the same pattern.
The Dev brought this level out as a secret challenge level at Magfest and wow it was fun. Took a group of 4 of us a ton of tries to get through it, but it was worth it.
Whenever I play this level I just dash into the corner only losing a life once a minute and watch the crazy action unfold. Because of this level we go onto challenge mode as much as we can so we can play this level! We literally laugh our heads off when it gets to the falling bit. THIS LEVEL IS A MASTERPIECE!
Hardcore mode is out on the switch. For those who loved to dash into the left wall/corner to try to cheese the level, they put walls all over the level (similar to The Lunar Whale) to stop that from happening on Hardcore mode. How fun.
I can proudly say that the level of insanity this particular level has is partly my fault. because I got to be at the convention where this game was being shown in the beta. and after playing this level I told them "keep it exactly the same but just make it optional" (probably didn't actually influence their decision but I like thinking it does)

I somehow managed to A rank this level just by spamming dash randomly during 95% of the level. Yet I can't even come close to beating Tokyo Skies or Fox yet. *i cant explain*
This level looks so ridiculously difficult that it's considered a boss battle. Like you must have real PRO skill to dodge those guys who flying at super sonic speeds.
tbh, the only part hard in this level is the 0:30 type sections, however, you can (in normal) just keep running into the top-left corner and dash whenever a karate guy tries to kick you. Hardcore mode, though? PPPFT WHO NEEDS CORNERS ANYWAY?
I avoided this level like the plague for a while, because turning the Mortal Kombat theme into a JSaB level seemed really stupid to me. Then I played it. *this level is the bane of my existence*
