I prefer buying them at a normal snackbar though.. But it is a good place to go to after midnight
Singapore's vending machines mostly contain a lot of local foods from favourite breakfast meals to simple dinners. fresh juice vending machines, newspaper/books vending machines. there are so-called "restaurant" types vending machines in neighbourhoods. some of the food vending machines like a popular one, Chef-In-Box can be found in schools. hehe
My favourite vending machines are definitely the Amsterdam's FEBO machines! They are all around the capital and have the best chicken pot pie croquettes!!

7 months late😂 but hearing you mention nasi lemak took me back to when my dad was in a relationship with a malaysian lady and we'd go there almost every summer.. some of the most beautiful food I've ever experienced 😭😍
we loved Tokyo we would enjoy like you roaming around and finding vending machines and then pick random items from each be it food or gifts or drinks. A lot of fun and a great way to spend an afternoon getting to see parts of Tokyo we might never have seen .
Note to viewers under 60 years old: the automat is not a vending machine as we understand it - yes, you pay at each little door for each item you want... but there is a massive kitchen on the other side of the wall where people are cooking the food before putting it in the little niches. Of COURSE it's hot and fresh!

i remember back in Tokyo(i think it was in Akihabara or Shibuya) I found a random vending machine in a corner filled with gacha balls of used high school girl underwear. It was both surprising and creepy at the same time. Next to it is just a regular izakaya and an internet cafe. that was about 10 years ago. It might still be there tho.
