    My only comment would be to test the lights prior to reassembling everything. Other than that it's one of the best how to videos I have ever seen. Very concise without missing a step.

    you don't have to remove the bumper cover. Just loosen it from the wheel well and pull it forward about 4 inches and you can get a 10mm on the headlight bolt from the side. save a lot of time

    • @TurnFromWickedness
      @TurnFromWickedness 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really. Cause that would save a lot of time. What screws need to be taken out to make room to get the headlight out? I know you said wheel well... Anthing else?

    Awesome video. Makes it look so easy. Now I'll have to see if I can do it without the lift. I'm amazed you had to disassemble the front end of the car to get it done. Leave it to engineers to come up with that, but oh well.

    Car manufactures make things more difficult for people to work on their own vehicles in hopes they will bring it in to the dealership to let them work on the it, good thing there are videos like this to give people the know how on how they can do things themselves & dont need to pay the dealerships big bucks to work on their vehicles.

    Good vidja. If you’re only changing out one light assembly you really only need to take out the top pins and guards that are under the hood. Also to make sure the fender well can be totally moved aside, you only need to remove the splash guard screw under your car that attaches the fender well to the bumper cover. The fender well removal isn’t optional.
    The only reason she removed the splash guards under the car is because she used a lift. I used ramps and rested the bumper cover on a cooler. Still not “easy” per se, but not hard. You just have to take so many retainers out and carefully pull the bumper cover off.

    I was thinking about doing it myself but this is a lot of work plus I’d lose all those screws or forget where they go.

    Any idea why the gap between the headlight and bumper on the driver’s side is wider than the passenger side after doing this?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +mrsemifixit Thanks for checking us out! It is more than likely that a clip for the bumper was missed causing some sag on that side compared to the other side. If you run into this, always go back and double check everything was fastened together.

    • @mrsemifixit
      @mrsemifixit 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@1AAuto Thanks for replying. But actually it’s not sagging it’s sitting slightly higher than the passenger side headlight causing a gap at the bottom where the bumper meets. Could it be a defective headlight? As I tried to adjust and no way to make it sit lower

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      +mrsemifixit It is a possibility for sure. Another thing to check would be to make sure one of the mounting tabs wasn't tightened more than the others causing a "pull" from the over tightened bolt. It would be hard to tell due to not seeing the install for the driver side on this video, those are just a couple of issues we have come across in the past with headlight installations.

    This has me messed up. My 05 Lincoln's headlights were held in by 3 bolts and didn't require any body panel removal to take off. why is it that every car these days has bolts and clips hidden beneath body panels?
