- What's more entertaining than watching a panda playing on a slide? Watching 4 pandas playing on a slide! :) (A video from the Chengdu Panda Base).
Chengdu in China has been the hometown of the giant panda -- one of the world's most endangered species - for more than 8 million years, and the Chengdu Panda Base (a not-for-profit organisation) is a world-renowned breeding and research center for the giant panda. Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2012, the Panda Base now has the largest controlled breeding population in the world -- 108 giant pandas.
Panda Awareness Week highlights the work of the Chengdu Panda Base in fostering the continued growth of the giant panda population, as well as rescuing and rehabilitating pandas so they can return to the wild.
To celebrate Panda Awareness Week, 108 pandas brought panda-monium to the streets of London on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of July.

Nope. Thanks to conservation efforts, they're no longer endangered. Now they're still vulnerable/threatened. We still have a long way to go.

They are still endangered. They are a step away from total extinction compared to 20 years ago but they are still endangered. IUCN removed it from the red list but according to Chengdu Giant Panda Center, the fragmentation of panda habitats has deepen so as the panda groups, making them more vulnerable than before. The number of panda increased but that does not mean that the possibility of extinction of panda in wild has reduced significantly. Number is just one factor among many that can decide the future of an endangered species. The number of Saiga antelopes in kazakstan was more than 250k in the beginning of 2015 and after a flu 80% of Saiga antelopes in wild died in 2 days. There is still a very long way to go for pandas.
The natural breeding for panda is almost impossible at this moment! They need humans attention no matter how many of them are alive right now. Unlike other endangered species, due to their low breeding rate, they can't function as a wild animal group, so in other words, they will never get out of the endangered zone
You can not beat the cuteness of a Panda. Especially if there is more than one.

Whenever anyone hurts me and I use to be sad I used to watch these video's of panda's which makes me laugh and my sadness goes away from me.
