The only thing I'd recommend to people. Is when building a portal to get back home with. Build it in a stone structure. Or on a hill NPCs can't climb. That way it doesn't get wrecked by the menacing greydwarf while you chillin at the crib cooking up some gumbo for the next op.
Soon as you can make a portal, always, always keep materials in your inventory to set up another. Being a stargate fan, I always opted to name the dedicated portal "DHD" (Dial Home Device). Typically, if going to a new biome via ship, id set up a new portal at base, its name doesnt really matter, Gate1 for example. Then sail to new biome with gear to make 2 portals. 1 being the 2nd "Gate1" portal. The other set being for a 2nd DHD portal. This can be invaluable in multiplayer as if anyone dies, one party member can use the mats to plop down second DHD as close as possible to death site of other player (if safe of course). Thus allowing said player to retrieve gear asap, saving loads of time and reducing danger of getting to the site from the permant biome portal in the area. Always, always keep DHD set with you.
Ive played this game for many many MANY hours (only since it's release on xbox i will say). This video is absolutely amazing and well put together. The length and your pacing, descriptions, and tone on top of the video not being over edited makes this an absolute joy to listen to and watch while trying to see if there's anything new I haven't learned yet. Well done doesn't even begin to describe how good a job you've done.
Bro I came here looking for a some Valheim gameplay to see if I wanted to start playing again. This video guide is so comprehensive its ridiculous. Thankyou!
I started playing this game like 4 days ago and I’m already 15 hours in and haven’t left black forest yet because I’ve been upgrading my base for like 5 hours, and thinking I’m only at the beginning is crazy
Awesome video, so much great info in here. Never thought to swap out armor pieces. I just started Mistlands so will try out the Root Harnesk ASAP as thos eSeekers are putting on quite a hurting.
As a valheim veteran this is a great guide! the pop noise when you drop the items is a bit too loud compared to the rest of the video making it a bit too unpleasant but save from that, it's good
Thank you for the kind words! I also always appreciate the feedback. i've heard the comment on the pop noise in the past as well. I'll definitely tone it down going forward. Thanks!
Another tip with birch tree, if you able to fell one with beech tree using stone axe, can roll two fallen log against each other to break them down for early fine wood.
I"ve been playing on hard since the beginning and now I'm about to reach the ice biome. One thing to keep note if you are playing on hard: the poison damage you get from swamp blobs and leech is LETHAL, one hit and you are gone so always bring some poison resistance potions
Ngl, this is one of those things that I always think "thats gotta be in the game, I gotta look that up later" but never do. I JUST NOW learned the keybinds. Turns out I never looked it up later, it looked me up, and for that-I thank you 😂😂
@@SpazzyjonesGaming , it might be a coincidence. however it has happened to me three times. Once in a regular game, that clued me off to try and look for him in my HC game. I was heading back to a swamp after my game crashed, and I found Haldor along the way, and Hildor who I have never seen. Was honestly a fun thing to find.
42:06 sharpening stone is important from fuling village? I do think it is important to make grinding wheel, but you can make it with stonecutter tho, and make the grinding wheel way before mountain biome Or is it a new thing?
In my experience fuling shamans are the ones that should be picked out with a bow first, they give a big advantage to other fulings with shield auras (their fireballs can be parried though, which makes taking them out with melee a lot easier). 0-star fuling berserkers can be parried with silver shield and better and aren't that big of a problem, although they should be fought last. They're quite slow overall because of them regularly propping their club up and yelling, so getting rid of normal fulings first while dodging the bersekers isn't much of a problem. 1-star berserkers in my experience are a much greater threat, only their 3 hit combo can be parried with blackmetal shield, and they do a ton of damage, so at first I recommend not risking it and taking them out with a bow until you're comfortable with fighting the berserkers. Haven't met 2-star berserkers, though I imagine rolling is the only option to avoid damage. Also I think the blackmetal sword is better at fighting fulings than Frostner because it staggers 0-star fulings in 1 hit, which is huge, even compared to the slowing effect of Frostner
Sharpening stone can also be crafted at the Stonecutter. Just build a Stonecutter in your base and then access it, there you can built the Sharpening Stone.
@@SpazzyjonesGaming I guess the order in which you have to kill the bosses? 😜 But we were just playing casually and not really paying attention. Thanks for this great video it explains a lot and will definitely make my play-through of the game way more enjoyable 👍
Weird choice for valheim to make the padded armor iron and not black metal? Is it not? It also has almost the same protection as the wolf I think… and isn’t the Silver Sword technically better than the black metal sword?
I tell ya it was a SHOCK to me the first time I get there and realized I had to go back to the swamp and get more Iron. Silver sword is hurt by the fact that a lot of creatures are weak to spirit damage. But other than that you're right
