Nice list. I'm partial to the song "Strange Days". For me that's their best song because it captures the sinister carnival mood that The Doors do so well. The lyrics feel appropriate to the current mood of the world too. I totally agree about "Indian Summer". Beautiful tranquil song.
Never been a huge Doors fan, but I have The Very Best of The Doors, which I think has about a dozen of your 20 picks, so will give that a spin today to see what I'm missing! Thanks, Stuart
I agree with most all of your favorite songs by The Doors. I do have a yen, however, for "Crystal Ship" and "Wild Child". And, yes, "Light My Fire" is the best. It's also the most popular: number 1 on Billboard for 3 weeks and number 6 on their year-end top songs list; weirdly it was number 1 on Cash Box for only 1 week but ended up number 2 on their top songs of 1967. "Hello, I Love You": Billboard number 1 for 2 weeks, number 14 for the year; Cash Box number 1 for 1 week, number 15 for the year.
I do believe you had The Soft Parade ranked as #6 out of 6 of their studio albums. Yeah, you might want to revisit that. Definitely better than Waiting For the Sun. I had it at #5 on my list and thinking it actually be might #4 ahead of Strange Days.
Light my fire is a great song but it’s played out for me and like you said the radio three minute song sucks. My number #1 is Roadhouse Blues. My observation you didn’t give one word of credit to their drummer John Densmore who does an excellent job on all the great songs you mentioned.

I used to really love "Wild Child" as well. Less so in more recent years, though. I find the riff a bit too repetitive throughout the song.

You know, these lists are always somewhat fluid. But if I redid it, I probably would flip Waiting For the Sun and Soft Parade.

That's fair. He's awesome as well. Like I said in the first Doors video, I am a Doors fan more because of the three guys other than Jim Morrison.
Love Her Madly not in the top 20? Seriously??
Great song!
