When I worked there over 10 years ago, it was a job for part time students, people who had another job, or just used the job as a temporary income. We were grateful for what we got and if it wasn’t enough money we looked for another job or doubled up on jobs. We didn’t expect it to be a living wage, unless you were a store manager or district manager.
Of course they returned to work. They need money to live and found out unions only care about receiving the dues! They found out even if your not working you STILL have to pay union dues.

I know precisely what to look out for and always call them out if I witness anything. Within 5 minutes you can scope out a coffee shop or restaurant for unsanitary conditions.
64% pay raise. These liberals are asking too much to make coffee. If I get a 64% raise my annual pay as a Clinical Engineer will be a $133k/yr. That is not including my On-Call schedule and Time and a half when I have to clock in for an emergency. Making coffee is no emergency.
Most of these people have never been in a union. Unions suck. I was with the IAM union for 2 years. No one talks about the seniority system. You don’t get any holidays off till you are 60 plus. Your pay is the same as your coworker regardless of skills. You pay the same union dues and insurance no matter how much you make. It should be pro rated. When I was in the union I got to pick vacation days in Jan and Feb. That’s it. All of the old farts worked 6 days a week and took all of the overtime. I was eating ramen while they had new 5th wheels and Harley bikes.
Starbucks should be thankful they lasted this long. If they piss off the customers they do have, we may not be seeing Starbucks in 2025. Times are tough for everyone and customer service needs to be brought back to the forefront with every industry. Have pride man/woman. ✌️🙏🎄🇺🇸
