I think it’s far more likely Clemson and FSU would go to the SEC
USF is far more likely to be added to the ACC than SDSU
And GT won’t get in the SEC. There are still many bigger brands. GT is one of the smallest brands in the ACC.
And unless the ACC completely collapses, Cal and Stanford wouldn’t join the MW. There’s a reason they did anything they could to get in a power 4 conference, even if it meant joining a conference where most members were on the opposite side of the country.
And in your scenario, the ACC wouldn’t collapse. The ACC would just keep adding schools every time they lost some. USF, Memphis, Tulane, Oregon state, Washington state, UConn, sdsu, and unlv are all decent markets that would keep the ACC alive.
SEC will add as many members as the B1G. The conferences are now rivals.

Florida State and Clemson aren't going to the SEC either but it is more likely than the BIG. People who think they're headed there have an extremely poor understanding of the Big 10's criteria for membership. Georgia Tech used to be in the SEC. They're not going back. Neither is Tulane or Swanee. SEC was a 13 member conference when it formed. Swanee was one of them. Florida State and Clemson will head to the Big 12 or stay in the ACC.

The ACC can do what the Big East did. Stop pretending to be a football conference and go back to being what they were good at basketball

The reason GT would not get into the SEC is because they would never ask to join. GT and Wake Forest will never leave the ACC.

Here's my thought on things: The BIG is now at 18-teams and need six more to get to "SUPER CONFERENCE" Status (24 teams), and here's how I see it playing out.
#1. The BIG wants Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina and Virginia because of "LOCATION"..."LOCATION"..."LOCATION" (Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, Richmond etc...), that plus their academics and AAU status!!!
    #2. High School Football Recruiting!!!
#3. Georgia Tech OFFERS more to the BIG then Rutgers did then and/or does now... At least Georgia Tech has a Winning History!!! "NEWS FLASH"... PLUS, they'll get/take Cal and Stanford "CHEAP" after the collapse of the ACC... For the SAME Damn Reasons!!!
Now their footprint is Coast-to-Coast, and they will have MOST of the Major TV Markets, PLUS, and this is The BIG Reason, they are "NOW", in "The HEART of DIXIE"!!!
That's their plan to create one of two 24-Team Semi-Pro Super Conferences and EXIT the NCAA!
The SEC counters by taking Clemson, Florida State, North Carolina State and Virginia Tech with the latter two teams helping to encroach into BIG Territory!!!
After taking the four ACC Schools (Florida and South Carolina have ZERO to say about the additions of Clemson and FSU, just like Arkansas, Missouri and Texas A&M had ZERO to say about the addition of Texas... It's a "If You Don't Like It... You're FREE to Leave the SEC ANYTIME you'd like).
To get to a 24-Team Super Conference, the SEC would need to add four more teams, and since MOST of the SEC are Land Grant Institutions, NONE of the Metro Schools left in the ACC fill the bill... THUS, the SEC has no place else to go EXCEPT WEST!
So, "THE ONLY PLACE TO TURN"... The Big-12, and to keep up with the BIG (Coast-to-Coast), they "POACH Arizona, Colorado, Kansas (to APPEASE Kentucky) and Utah!
That's your two "SEMI-PRO, SUPER CONFERECNES", and at that point they "WILL BREAK AWAY" from the NCAA to create their own playoffs and championships in ALL SPORTS... After all, it's about "Making and KEEPING as much money as you possibly can, and to HELL with the rest of" College Athletics"!!!
    New BIG:
EAST POD: Georgia Tech, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, Rutgers, Virginia.
LAKES POD: Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue.
PLAINS POD: Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Wisconsin.
WEST POD: California, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Washington.
    NEW SEC:
EAST POD: Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, NC State, South Carolina.
SOUTH POD: Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech.
Central POD: Arkansas, Kansas, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Missouri.
WEST POD: Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Utah.
What's left of the ACC, the Big (Little) 12-2 +4, the PAC-12 minus 10, the G-5 conferences and Notre Dame will create Eight New Regional Conference with 10-12 Teams under the NCAA Banner.
Here's a possible Eight Conference League with Eleven Teams (Would need to add Three more FCS Schools to get to Eleven Schools), in each conference.
AAC: Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Jacksonville State, James Madison, Liberty, Marshall, Troy.
NEW ACC: Army, Boston College, Buffalo, Charlotte, Duke, Navy, ODU, Temple, U-Mass, *Villanova*, Wake Forest.
NEW Big 11: Baylor, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas State, New Mexico, Oklahoma State, Rice, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech, Tulsa.
CUSA: Central Florida, Cincinnati, East Carolina, Louisville, Memphis, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, South Florida, Syracuse, U-Conn, West Virginia.
MAC: Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Miami of Ohio, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Toledo, Western Michigan.
MWC: Air Force, BYU, Colorado State, *Montana*, New Mexico State, North Texas, *South Dakota State*, Texas State, UTEP, UTSA, Wyoming.
NEW PAC: Arizona State, Boise State, Fresno State, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, UNLV, Utah State, Washington State.
Sunbelt: Arkansas State, Louisiana Lafayette, Louisiana Monroe, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee State, Sam Houston State, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi, Tulane, UAB, Western Kentucky.
Time to get this ESPN, FOX, BIG and SEC Money Hungry ARROGANCE over with... Send them ALL Packing... REFUSE to play any of them in the future!!! They wanted their EXCLUSIVE Conferences and Playoffs, let them have it!
The NCAA should disassociate themselves from both conferences as well and EXCLUDE all the schools in those two EXCLUSIVE Super Conferences (Semi Pro Leagues), from the NCAA Basketball Tournament as well as other "College Sports", going forward!
Let ESPN create a Separate Basketball Tournament for them!!! The other 80+ FBS Schools have ZERO NEED to continue to play the BIG and SEC in any sports going forward and WILL Survive with their own "COLLEGE SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIPS"!!!

Why would the SEC take GT, when Georgia rules the state? Makes zero sense. You TOTALLY blew off Virginia Tech. If the SEC doesn't take them they will go to the Big 12. Both VT and NCS have already inquired to the Big 12. Virginia Tech is the main target in the Big 12 (huge rival to West Virginia, land grant school, culture is very much the same), followed by Louisville, NC State, then Pitt, unless no one takes Georgia Tech, then I could see the Big 12 taking GT over Pitt, so UCF will finally have a travel partner, plus it would get he Big 12 into the Atlanta market. If NC State goes to the SEC, then a scenario of VT, Louisville, GT and Duke would be a possibly, because the Big 12 would take 4 teams, not just 2. If the Big 12 decided to go to 24, instead of 20, then a play for Pitt, UConn & possibly a pick up of Oregon State & Washington State makes sense (much more than seeing them in a shaky ACC that's twice the distance of the Big 12 in most cases.

    Interesting video, good breakdown.
    My two cents:
Media partners and the P2 confs (SEC/BIG) will not support 20+ teams, the one exception being ND..
20+ is just to blowed for the consolidation efforts. Remember consolidation/ realignment is about the $$$, period.
    I would assume :
    *B1G - 20 (or 21), 55 to 60 mil per team
    *SEC - 18 (or 20) 55 to 57 mil per team
    *B12 - 21 (or 24) 32 to 37 mil per team

    • @troywest7045
      @troywest7045 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Any school added to the B1G(outside of Notre Dame) during the current media deal will have to accept half shares. The Presidents won't want any teams added at higher shares than what they gave the Northwest schools.
      So that's a little over 30 million a year.

  • @alesquire9180

I think the SEC needs to add a NC school and Virginia school. North Carolina and Virginia or Virginia Tech seem logical. FSU and Clemson seem to be natural SEC fits as well but there is very bad blood between the SEC and FSU at this point and I am unsure what value Clemson and FSU would bring to the SEC at this point. North Carolina and Virginia and/or VT would add value to the SEC though.

@@AridonaBall that’s not at all what happened. He ordered a stay for the lawsuit to be held in NC. He ordered a dismiss with prejudice on the ACC being able to sue for damages. That means the schools in the conference can sue without the ACC being able to sue them for damages. Again the actual lawsuit hasn’t even gone to trial. They still have to go through discovery. Also there is a lawsuit in the state of Florida and South Carolina. The first hearing in the Florida lawsuit will be held Tuesday. If all three states rule it should be held in their state it will go to federal court. Again you have zero clue to what you’re talking about.
