Pretty sure the world wont last long enough for any great epics to be written... i give us 200-300 years tops before the last human on earth has revived their welcome from the tall dark stranger... in that time man will be more focused on consuming the last remaining dergs of resources, water, food, fuel that the idea of evening recording it for a possible future will be seen as waste of time when faced with the final gasps of a suffocated world.

I think it's a bit more then that since they have to use some services by law, which could get them kicked out. Itd be like following all the rules in a soccer game but you get penalized anyways because you happen to have once lived in a different city then everyone else, and when they penalize you they also forcibly drop you off at the city you moved away from.

$20-40 OVER the limit is not a lot. I have a neighbor that $5. As long as the govt. realizes you can pay bills without help, you won't get help from any services. Services that paid by our taxpayer dollar.

So my translator friend in Afghanistan who went from working with my NGO to providing intel to the US military and helping our troops track down & eliminate Taliban, AlQaeda & like groups would be part of that group.
He even received a special US visa because the Taliban put a target on his head.
When he came to the USA, he was rushed out of the country with two kids and a wife who was 8 mos. pregnant. He was instructed to go to Massachusetts and apply for various programs until his family could stand on their own and earn a decent wage. That was FOUR years ago.
They went from living in a very nice home in Afghanistan to a rat, bed bug & roach infested apartment in the USA. I know because I stayed with them & watched their older two kids while he stayed with his wife in hospital (as she didn’t yet know English & she had complications). I had bites all over me. And it was in a high crime area of town. I phoned 9-11 more than once.
He went on to complete his MBA in Mass & now has embarked on quite the financial career (6 figs a year). He’s doing very, very well and helping support our economy with his tax dollars.
But the Trump admin says they don’t care. They’d ship his whole family back to be butchered after all he’s done. They are horrible, despicable people.
No when you come from another country to the US there should be no kind of a business from the government or state government for 5 years no more free rides

In the United States, Congress is prohibited from passing ex post facto laws by clause 3 of Article I, Section 9 of the United States Constitution. ... Unconstitutional, it is, to penalize people for something that Wasn't illegal when then did it.
It's what I was saying since day 1. The American gov't and ICE has not been making any distinction between legal and illegal immigration. And well yeah, the 14th amendment may seem questionable on paper, it is necessary, if in need of a few tweaks. Children born in the country from parents not citizens of said country, whether they are illegals, or just vacationers, are often not considered a citizen of the parents home country, unless they can pay for and go through the processes, which most whom immigrate illegally will be unable to afford. In short, getting rid of the 14th amendment entirely will result in *A LOT* of stateless children, which a few articles deem a fate worse than death.

Germany, where I am living atm, doesn't care if you were born here or not. That means nothing. A child born here is a citizen of the country the parents belong to. That really shocked me when I first came here but they are also very open about helping people socially, even if it is lower standardized care compared to the U.S. The parents, or the person after reaching adulthood if the parents don't do it, have to go through the entire process of becoming a citizen and in Germany, you must renounce all citizenship to any and all other countries. Either you are a citizen of Germany or not.. all or nothing.

My dad's getting deported and know possibly my mom if that happens I'll have to go to Mexico with my parents and I can't stay with my family members because most are in Mexico or can't afford to have another person in their household I haven't even finished High school so that means I have to throw away my future to possibly work in a field for low wage because where my family is from it tough over there and almost impossible to get a better job and you might be wondering why he typed so much because I want to let people know how this might seriously effect people.
Why did he get deported and why is your mom possibly getting deported? Something not right with your papers? How long have you been there? Were you born there? If your a citizen or have documents they can't touch you!

I'm confused. The only time I've heard about people getting rid of an amendment was talk about the 2nd amendment. I'm not from the US so this led me to the assumption that getting rid of an amendment was anathema (great word by the way) to Republicans. But if Trump thinks it's OK to get rid of the 14th (and Republicans don't denounce him for it), doesn't this mean the 2nd can be changed/gotten rid of as well? Or is there a number (amendment wise) that means it's forever locked in, e.g. anything below the 10th amendment is fair game but you can't touch the earlier ones.
