Birding Northern Peru The marvelous Spatuletail

Huembo is one of the best places to see the bird.
However feeders are placed underneath bushes, so light is poor and focussing difficult.
Very nervous bird making very short and unpredictable appearances.! Took us 7 hours for a couple of seconds of more or less decent footage. (all shots, except the last, have been slowned down.)

I do'nt think there is any special season.
The only problem is that the birds we saw were terribly fast and unpredictable .

Many people who say that have literally no concept of nature or birds and their lives. Do you think that flash is brighter or more dangerous than say a bolt of lightning which happens very often in this territory? The biggest hear-say on this subject probably comes from strictly birders, who never stop to think that with out bird photographers they'd have no idea about the many different species of birds.
OK, I'll get off my soapbox now.
