Incredibly beautiiful and delightful time you give us, Carole! Congratulations on the new species!I love these hummingbirds, the forest, and I'm happy to see these hummers in their natural environment.
Another fantastic video Carole. I know you are in your element with the Marvelous Spatuletail. The Chestnut-breasted Coronet is very stunning. I love that male Little Woodstar was adorable.
Incredible how hummingbirds are designed. Literally everything from colors to beaks and tails. They remind us of vibrant peacock colors. You're right Carole, that's the most beautiful hummingbird in the world! You live the life! There is no doubt! Stay safe on your travels. Thank you for sharing with us❤️
This was a good close -up look at the female Andean Emerald. The male is one of my faves on Ecuador cam, beautiful blue on the head! The Woodstar is an adorable little hummer, and the Chestnut-breasted Coronet really stands out with that dark chest! So different than the frequent blues and greens. And of course, love your 'spirit animal', very gorgeous. Glad Sheri was there to enjoy herself!
To be truthful, that female Andean Emerald is a White-bellied Emerald. Once in a while I make a mistake I don't catch until after the video is published! But they look VERY similar. Fess up time, haha.
Some excellent camera work in this one, thanks for producing/sharing it with us! Does anyone here know if Carole has a list of the species she has seen/species she will yet see, somewhere to view? A website/blog maybe? It's interesting to be able to follow along the process. Cheers!
Hi Ayr. I do have a website at www.hummingbirdspot.com but it is being redone and will have all the 210 hummingbirds I have photographed so far. There are a lot of pictures and blogs about earlier trips on there now, but hopefully the redo will be complete in the next few months. Carole
@@HummingbirdSpot Hi Carole, Thank you for your reply, I am intrigued by your quest and interested to view "the list". I will visit the website from time to time, thank you! Wishing you the best on your adventures, and thank you again for sharing them.👍👋
It is used in their mating ritual. The male waves the discs over his head to attract a female and when he has her attention he takes to the air and shows the female his flying ability by flying with the disks held high over his head.

The verbana is a miracle flower- they just cannot resist them. I bet we'd miss so many species without it.
As much as I love and enjoy my local rufous, annas and allens. Having these visiting my backyard feeders would be a treat!
You can say that again!
Great footage Carole loved the "conversation" between the two on the branch
