  • Sky News host Steve Price says twice as many hospitality businesses have been “going bust” as they were ten years ago.
Mr Price said Independent Food Distributors Australia warns we could soon be facing $10 coffees and $100 steak and chips if nothing gets done about rising costs.
“Everything has gone through the roof.”

I have been having coffee with a group of friends every Saturday morning for going on 25 years. We are/were all business owners and it was a time for us to rant and offload the week’s activities and discuss business problems. We frequented a few local coffee shops in rotation and are now at the point where we just walk in, sit down and the correct coffees are delivered to each person. We have continued this tradition through the years supporting local and small business. The businesses we frequent have become havens for business people and local employees. The number of times we have had a young girl in tears because of work stress or similar situations is uncountable. Because of these activities, these coffee shops have not had to increase their prices. As such they are receiving so much patronage, it is unbelievable. Everyone wins in this situation. It’s all about supporting community, families and sharing knowledge, respect and love without the nonsense of the woke liberal lunatics.
Australians need to come together and start focusing again on our core values. Lives change when we support one and other..!

Twice as many going bust as 10 yrs ago cause there’s twice as many cafes.
Market is saturated. How many coffee shops do we really need?
10 yrs ago a coffee cost X to sell 400 a day . Now they sell 200 a day for 2X and still make the same money bar inflation.
Coffee hasn’t gone up , milk hasn’t really gone up much , water is practically free. Rent and wages only and yet prices up 40%.
They put the prices up because you told them they could use inflation as the justification. It’s self perpetuating .
With so many out of work baristas can’t believe they can put upward pressure on wages. Just put coffee prices up on Sunday’s.
Just because you open a cafe or restaurant doesn’t mean you are entitled to succeed. The business model is wrong if they would only look at it . These businesses come and go forever. I live close to a restaurant strip for 30 yrs , thats the way it has always been.
Never been more coffee shops. The little surf shops and laundromats and real estates are all now coffee shops. Stop being so manipulated.

Businesses are experiencing the same price increases as households. We get told to stop spending to fix inflation. Wages are fixed for 12 months, its rent, insurance, COGS, utilities and fuel that keep going up 10-20% as these sectors are price gouging. But there is no pressure on utility, insurance companies or fuel companies to keep a lid on the prices they charge. Big business are putting small business and households under pressure as they can charge what they want. That is the problem.

This list could go on much further add home & rent cost so on ..
    That's the revolting door..

The market is fixed for high populations of the same coffee shops ect this increase goes to made up crisis in stupid sectors like energy and food being more expensive ect as expenses to house the immigrant and its crisis’s raise prices their rubbish turns Australia into an environmental shit hole of constant price increase and crisis. There should be payment for people that don’t want to take part in artificial war cost of housing the immigrant that wasn’t taught is schools as compensation. At no time was a house that was 30k going to cost 300k taught in school and I should not have to live with the “depression” like economy because of the need for them to progress.

In the future, the price of everything on restaurant menus will be Market Price. We all know that Market Price means you have to ask, and, of course, you know what it means if you have to ask for the price.
