- This is "The Fall of Troy's" first show in New Jersey. Actually ran into Tom outside the Cafe. He was wandering around lookin for his band. They went and got lunch without him.. lol.. So we got to hang and bullshit for a little bit before they went on.
I Video taped this at "Bloomfield Ave Cafe" Montclair, NJ - 9/17-2005 - เพลง
I really think this band was a little ahead of its time. There's so much so beautiful about this performance. I can't believe this was in 2005. 2005!!!
I can't believe you really got this on video all the way back then - and the audio sounds great honestly. Keep this up forever. Thank you.
Man, they really embody the energy of "your older brother's cool friends" here, don't they?
Cant wait to show my grandkids what I used to listen to!
I think their style of music really transcended time.. They are a "post hardcore" band but.. they really don't fit any mold too well. Very unique.
If only I had known about them when I was in 6th grade. The venue is only a 20 minute drive from me..
HAHA! I wish you'd known about them earlier. Fall Of Troy was the best live band I'd ever seen back in 2015! It was the best gig I'd ever been to hands down. My fave band played 5 miles from me when I was 10! I didn't hear them till I was 15 and they were instantly my fave band and still are to this day! Not only that, but I always though my fave band came from the US, because they sang in American accents. Little did I know, my fave band actually LIVED in a small town just 5 MILES FROM MY HOUSE!!! I was like "NO WAY!!!!!????!!!!" I couldn't believe it.
I was in 6th grade when my brother showed me them. He invited me to go with him to one of their shows but my mom didnt let me :(
we're the same age
it’s always so interesting to watch when Andrew starts playing too fast and Thomas has to play these already super fast technical riffs at a ridiculous speed.
This is my personal favorite band of all time,..sincerely.
One of the more under-appreciated bands of the 2000s
HOLY FUCKING SHIT MEMORY LANE! i was at this show right up in the front! these were the fucking DAYS!
you have no idea how lucky you were
the best Thom's live performance i've ever heard on a record. so close to the tfot's album in sounding
this as all the hallmarks of a legendary set
frontman telling crowd not to fuck with their space
drummer drops his stick
snare needs replacing
bassist unplugs himself
by the second song in the set you can see the sweat
and despite all this
HUGE ENERGYYYYY
Amazing... so many great memories there. I'd love to go back in time for just one day... those were the days. Early 2000's North jersey hardcore scene is legendary
Man the amount of work Thomas is doing blows my fucking mind
3:53 I Just Got This Symphony Goin'
9:33 F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X
14:32 Laces Out, Dan!
17:52 Seattlantis (The best song they have ever fucking recorded)
22:40 Act One, Scene One
27:18 "You Got A Deathwish Johnny Truant?"
Seattlantis is so good! Manipulator was harshly reviewed but there is SO MUCH to offer on that album. Sledgehammer... A man A Plan a Canal Panama. Semi-Fiction... fuck. I love this band even of their recent stuff doesn't hit right.
You got a death wish?
@@dylanpage1900Manipulator is a perfect album in its own right. Sure, it's not Doppelganger (which is one of the absolute best guitar albums ever written), but the songwriting is so fucking tight. Perfect blend of heavy and catchy imo.
Wow. Crazy seeing my comment from 9 years ago
dude... they even sprinkled in the a man a plan breakdown in the end omfg what fucking legends.
I love this band so much
His vocals sound awesome here, it's shame that Tim's mic is turned off.
Marlon dos Santos yeah what the fuck was up with that and why didnt soundguy do anything about it?
I was gonna say the same thing
story of FoT's career.. andrew drops a stick, tim unplugs himself, thomas plays flawlessly
Uh yeah, Thomas erak makes plenty mistakes
@monkeyliver1986 ..but the two most noticeable! Lol
While picking up Andrews stick and plugging back in Tims bass
Andrew was wearing a most-excellent Bear Vs. Shark shirt at the beginning.
i think they were touring together at this time, maybe even this show? man i miss bvs so much.
I think its the best TFOT live video i've seen.
God I wish stuff like this still happened in the area. I miss not having to head out to NY for every show.
So music just stopped existing in New York or something?
@@churrocrudoYou misunderstand me. I'm local to where this video was shot and I'm just saying I wish bands would come around more often again.
Holy shit, this nostalgia cuts deep.
Very cool man. I love the old tfot videos.
SICK since this first show
Don Encarnacion first show IN NEW JERSEY* haha, not even close to their first show ever
my bad eyes haha. thanks man!
Suicidal playing during setup hits the nostalgia nerve. How Will I Laugh Tomorrow is the tape my dad & I always bumped in that shit box of an 89 Camry we drove around down town Montreal in. Cheers.
an iconic post-hardcore performance
5:19 lmao HOW did they pick it back up like that
This is what happens when three incredible musicians keep their internal metronome ticking no matter what
@@DatingTV not true though, you can hear Andrew give them a 4-count on the cymbal right before they come back in. still impressive and a class act!
@@Dyingwood. Well yes that's true. Still they pick it up in the exact timing they were meant to. May very well be only thanks to Andrew.
@@DatingTV for sure! hello human from the past. you can hear thomas still chugging the tempo as well once they lock back in. really cool stuff to watch. i know as a drummer i would be freaking out at that moment haha
Awesome thanks for the upload
damn Tom had seatlantis already composed back in 2005? No way!
Songs are:
1. I Just Got This Symphony Goin'
2. F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X.
3. Laces Out, Dan!
4. Seattlantis
5. Act One, Scene One
5. "You Got A Death Wish, Johnny Truant?"
1 2 3 4 5 5
Thanks tho
Damn dude, this shit is so fucking tight
I love those old days
Loooove this!!!! This band was amamzing!
I MISS THESE DAYS (i was here \m/)
amazing upload
THIS IS EPIC.
17:55 holy shit, that's Seattlantis, isn't it? I love everyone in this comment section.
@30:00 LOL
thanks man, thanks for upload this shit!
Hello from 2022! =)
shit... this is when he had his ec400, time flies
I Just Got This Symphony Goin' :)
The good old days
Yeah, man.
Ahh nevermind it's I just got this symphony goin da fuq how did I forget
Does anyone know what thomas uses for the delay in "You got a death wish..."? And what he uses to get the weird "broken" distortion in the outro to Macaulay McCulkin?
he uses a Boss Re 20 space echo for pretty much all of his delays
My fucking dream!!!!!
TIM!!!!!
seattlantis should have been in doppelganger tbh
Any one have a snare drum?
Wonderful cacophony
I don't understand what it is with people who work sound and backing vocals. You can see by the second song that obviously Tim's mic is there for a reason. Why is he so low in the mix? Hey ho, great to see an amazing band in their prime
siiick
MINI THOMAS!
I changed his guitar string at this show
Was he nice?
WTF what is the first song they play?! I can't find it I've heard it before but just god dang it's such an epic intro!!
11:37 is better than the recording!
Dayum they missed a lot hahaha but them stuff is hard to play anyways
dat seatlantis hnnnngggg
You are absolutely wrong.. This is the Chiodos Headline Tour. I recorded this show and If you would care to watch my other videos. You will notice I have Hot Cross and Chiodos from this same exact show. The Anterrabe show that you are referring to was TFOT's 2nd show in NJ. Which was the day after they played with Anterrabe in NY at the Continental which is around the corner from Webster Hall. Just so Everyone knows I went to all 3 of these shows. I did not Video Tape the Anterrabe shows.
So did erak meet his contemporaries /idols from hot cross then?
@@ItUnidentified that was the anterrabae show when he broke a string - and the tech said DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO CHANGE A STRING and I jumped up at like sixteen and fixed it but strung it backwards in a panic hahahaha worked though!
I think its an ec-400
it sure was the same show. They played with Chiodos and Hot Cross. I have their sets up'd as well.
yo you still got hot cross? lol
????????????hot cross videos

What shirt is Thomas wearing?
Chiodos shirt I guess
i believe they were 18 or 19
19-20
how old are they? xD
12:01 plsss
"chiodos is next"... lol
This audio is tits 😂
so incredibly inaccurate as a metaphor for their career.
The fall of Troy is NOT screamo 😭
3:50 show starts, and 10:03 is fcpremix
I hope Tom feels ashamed of that hair
His hair looks amazing.
Check out this story , at 0:04 you see my good buddy helping put amps on stage. Prior to show the guitarist needed string so my boys brought him to guitar center, my buddy there took a guitar down and plugged it in and started ripping all the fall of troy sht and from that point on the singer guitar player was acting like a jerko ff. lol
Nice story bro. I lived it 🤣

@@OffTheAirScene who in this story are you?
Now I know exactly who you are! You are my oldest friend and first next door neighbor who I’ve known for my whole life. Now that’s a cool story bro
We smoked a blunt with him too. In a parking deck around the corner from the venue. 2 weeks later we smoked again in their tour van when they played at Bloomfield for the 2nd time. It was the day after their show with Anterrabe in NY. We went to all 3.
@@OffTheAirSceneWas the blunt smoked before or after the show? Can't imagine all this fretboard dancing while super baked is easy.
