    I’m going to try the fermented garlic honey for sure! I thought it was hilarious that TH-cam played an advertisement for ginger turmeric shots during this video😂😂

    I learn so much from you. I have been keeping my garlic honey and my fire cider in the frig. I would so much rather store in my canning pantry vs. the frig. Can I also store my fire cider in my pantry also? It has been strained and is a couple of months old. Thanks so much!

      I store my garlic honey in the pantry....but my fire cider in the fridge.

    I know nothing 😊, but doesn't turmeric require pepper for bio availability? Just a thought!

    Amanda, you look so pretty today.

    Thanks Amanda, great video showing the process for both of these healthy recipes! I never considered the juicer would get hot and reduce the quality of the nutrients, that makes so much sense though. I wonder what you did with the peels? I bet you could use them to make a turmeric/ginger vinegar, or add them to an existing (maybe apple cider) vinegar and make it flavored (and also healthy).

      The peels went in our compost, but I'm sure they could have been used for something.

    Do you ever take the garlic out of the jar and just use the honey? Or does the garlic stay in the jar forever?

    • @TheHappyHomestead
      @TheHappyHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว

      I keep it in the jar till it's all gone. The honey is what helps to preserve it.

    Thank you for this tutorial.
    I appreciate your channel, rather new here.
    I plan to try making the turmeric shots.
    I have some garlic honey fermenting since early Oct. In the beginning it was bubbly and ‘gassy’ so I was burping it. It got messy. Is this normal?
    I see you freeze Dry? Would that be an option with the turmeric shots? Could it be made into a tea with hot water?
    ❤️

      I think the freeze drying option is a great idea worth trying! When you say messy, what do you mean? It shouldn't be so messy it comes out of the jar.

      It is part of the fermentation process to have to burp it.

    Love your channel! I learn so much. I made garlic and honey a couple of days ago. I have about an inch head space,is that ok? Also my honey was thick now it seems thinner, is this ok?

      First - great job!! That garlic honey will keep indefinitely and is such a powerhouse to fight sickness! It will get runnier over time, perfectly natural. Just keep shaking it. And the headspace is fine.

    Is it just me, or does the garlic taste like black licorice to anyone after it has fermented in the honey? It totally tastes like black licorice to me!

    This video got me to subscribe! Do You know how long does it last for? If I have some from a year or two ago, are they still good or not?

    • @TheHappyHomestead
      @TheHappyHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว

      Still good! Honey is actually a good that never goes bad, and the longer the garlic sits in it, the more potent it becomes. Enjoy it! And welcome to the channel, thank you!
