They are Witnesses who made life choices for many years based on the constant fear-mongering about 1914 and Armageddon. Many couples did not have children so they could do more for the organization, thinking they would walk into the new world a little older but together and inherit the blessing. Now they are gone. Many had no plans for retirement in this system and were left with only a meager social security check. Not to mention all the damage done to families based on overzealous manmade rules of righteousness.
When I was young in the 70s a lot of children in my congregation went to the "new world school" - lower education to learn about gardening. Paradise was around the corner.
At 4:06. they admit the governing body is neither inspired nor infallible. Since this is the case, where are they getting their prophecies from? Should we be surprised they get all these propecies wrong? Let that sink in.
But, by WT's own standard in print, the refusal to admit when they're wrong is like claiming infallibility. The GB brags about never admitting they've been wrong.

Winder read Proverbs 4:18 to support how the “light gets brighter” as to truths being revealed gradually. But if you read the context surrounding that verse that has nothing to do with what he is conveying. Instead, he goes on to say, “the watchtower says…” The watchtower IS NOT the Bible. Proverbs 4:18 actually means that the lives of those who adhere to God’s requirements should become brighter and brighter, and that they should grow in their faith and become more like him each day. Or we could apply this to being a follower of Jesus, our lives will reflect the light each day…
This so called light never really gets brighter in the sense that they speak of. It’s more like off and on…flickering! They’ve changed or made adjustments back and forth. You see how they gaslight people?? It’s nauseating!

Thank You for sharing these topics with us. Here are some things to think about. 1. This Generation. When will you return? What will be the sign of your Parousia? Pay no attention to wars and reports of wars. But when you see nation versus nation and kingdom versus kingdom, know that he is soon to come. The generation that begins with this first sign will not pass away until I return. What was the sign that begins a generation of 80 years? A global conflict, a world war. So the generation of 1914-1994 was supposed to see the return of Christ. The "end" is part of the sign leading up to his second coming. The end is not Armageddon. The end is the end of the gentile times, which occurred on November 29, 1947. The end is when you see the State of Israel appear. When Christ appears as a thief in the night, he sends his angels out to gather the holy ones. How long does that take? The Second Coming and Armageddon are two separate events. So it is not the end of the world that happens within a generation, but the end of gentile rule and the actual Second Coming. 2. The "70 weeks" prophecy is correctly dated from 455 BCE to 36 CE. That prophecy begins with the "going forth of the word to rebuild Jerusalem". Guess what? The VAT4956 has double dating in it to 568 BCE as well as 511 BCE!! The text is dated to year 37 of Nebuchadnezzar. 568 BCE dates the fall of Jerusalem in 586 BCE. 511 BCE dates year 19 in 529 BCE. 511 BCE is the original date for year 37. But doesn't that change the "70 weeks" prophecy? No! The 70 weeks prophecy is based on the baptism of Christ in 29 CE; it cannot change. It must begin in 455 BCE. In fact, it must begin in the 7th month of 455 BCE! If year 19 actually occurred in 529 BCE, then the 70-year exile began 4 years later in year 23, the year of the last deportation off the land. Year 23 fell in 525 BCE so the 70-year exile ended in 455 BCE! Is that a coincidence? No. The return actually occurred in 455 BCE. So the word going forth to rebuild Jerusalem, which must be uttered in the 7th month, is actually a reference to the 1st of Cyrus. So there is no problem with the 70-weeks prophecy. For JWs it just means it is fulfilled in the 1st of Cyrus instead of the 20th of Artaxerxes!! This means Martin Anstey was right. He said if you go by the Bible, there are 82 years too many accorded to the Persian Period. If we subtract 82 from 537 we get 455 BCE as the true date of the return. Of course, the rebuilding in the 1st of Cyrus did begin specifically in the 7th month! How does that impact on JW doctrine? It means that the Second Coming occurs in 1992 and not 1914. But that's okay, since the Second Coming has to occur before 1994. Have a blessed day.

I think from the evidence God/Jehovah has very little to do directly influencing men and their machinations. For if God/Jehovah "guides" men to write and teach, it will ALWAYS be the truth forever. Dear Jeffey Windering-Your commentary about using Prov 4:18 as an explanation of why your truth yesterday is not the truth of today and may not be the truth of tomorrow as being that God reveals "truth" in tiny doses so as not to overwhelm the poor prophets or the listeners ( but tell me Jeff which of those tiny doses comprise actual "truth" since many of the past "truths" have been discarded - in my world, discarded truths are usually referred to as "non truths" or lies for those who struggle with the nuanced wording).. revealing truth or judgements in small doses doesn't actually stack up in the bible. I cant see anywhere any prophet or spokesperson from God (as there were women as well) where they were given interpretations in "small doses". Look at Daniel for example concerning the dream that Nebuccunezzar had - he didnt repeatedly come back to the king with updated interpretations did he? No he spelled it out there and then and NOTHING Daniel said needed later adjustments etc. Did Noah give the people back in his day "small doses" of God's judgement? Did any of the prophets give their proclamations in small doses? Did Jesus give his proclamations to the Pharisees and religious leaders in small doses? Name anybody that proclaimed Gods judgements in "small doses". No Jeff, the only reason you tenaciously cling to Prov 4:18 ( which FYI is actually not even talking about the light of interpretations of scripture) is because you need something to justify the years of false statements and pronouncements.
As a JW myself of some 35 yrs + but somewhat faded, i could never reconcile the statement of "we are not inspired by God.. but we are GUIDED by God". To be inspired by God is to be moved by holyspirit to write, speak, teach and act in a manner that carries out God's will - usually for the purposes of teaching or alerting others as to a certain interpretation or course of action required. So by any definition, the JW claim of being "guided" by God is the same as being "inspired" by God. However, if the JWs are saying .. because we try to follow the Bible (according to our understanding of it) and because the Bible IS inspired, therefore in an indirect way, by following the bible we are being guided by God. That makes sense. HOWEVER, if you then constantly come out with statements that you claim are "truth" and revealed as "light" and then teach these "truths" AS IF THEY CAME DIRECTLY FROM GOD and then these "truths" are shown to be false, then you are NOT being guided by God at all!!! You are making Gods laws invalid because you are teaching laws of men. Also you use a star chamber judicial system which threatens disfellowshipping and shunning on any who question the authority of your "truth". In JW world, "truth" of yesterday is not "the truth" of today and may not be "the truth" of tomorrow. The JW have themselves built up a religious structure which ultimately undermines their own claims.

If Jesus was their mediator as they profess boldly, they would not be teaching false truth because false truth does not originate with God, and they call those false teachings “proof positive” that they are being directed by Holy Spirit. If you read Proverbs 4 in CONTEXT 4:14 -18 it's actually speaking about ones PATH in life ether a Good one or a Wicked one. It has NOTHING to do with the Scriptures getting Brighter. My mother didn't even believe in god i don't think and she refused a transfusion even when drs told her she might die her blood count was so low. She lived just fine for another 10 years and died at 84
We thank God for your Aunt. That does not mean it is true for everyone. My Aunt died for refusing blood transfusion after giving birth and left a 10-day old baby whom we had to take care of.
SHEEP AND GOATS DOCTRINE The WTS had it right the first time. The judgment of the sheep and goats occurs upon Christ's return in 1992. But confounding their understanding is that they do not realize that there are TWO great tribulations! Matthew 24:29 clearly says, "Immediately AFTER the tribulation of those days... the sign of the Son of man will appear...". We know the great tribulation of Revelation comes after the Second Coming. The trubulation of Matthew 24 comes before the Second Coming. During the tribulation of Matthew 24, a majority of the holy ones are killed off! Huh? So the great tribulation of Matthew 24 is actually a reference to the Holocaust, and the "holy ones" in this case are the natural Jews. So Christ separates the sheep from the goats upon his return in kingdom power in 1992 forward. The door to the wedding feast is closed long before Armageddon. So this separation is long over before the very end of Armageddon. The new light is just another false teaching!!!

The Bible teaches that humans have a spirit, which is an intangible part of a person that connects them to God. God's word never changes nor does God lie. If the GB told a person that certain things were going to happen at a certain time and that God told them that then they changed and said whoopsie, then it wasn't from God! Do you understand this? @rhondahart2416 In Deuteronomy 18 it's talking about a prophet like Moses, in other words a seer: someone who receives divine revelations. Jehovah's Witnesses are not seers. They study and write about what is already there in the Bible. Sure there's a tendency to jump the gun a bit, or speculate, that's only human. Jesus original disciples were like that too in the first century. They imagined that the kingdom was going to appear instantly, Luke 19:11.

Inspired means Spirit anointed and they say that they are Spirit anointed but not inspired. That doesn't make any sense.

Proverbs 4:18 actually means that the lives of those who adhere to God’s requirements should become brighter and brighter, and that they should grow in their faith and become more like him each day. Or we could apply this to being a follower of Jesus, our lives will reflect the light each day…
This so called light never really gets brighter in the sense that they speak of. It’s more like off and on…flickering! They’ve changed or made adjustments back and forth. You see how they gaslight people?? It’s nauseating!

1. This Generation. When will you return? What will be the sign of your Parousia? Pay no attention to wars and reports of wars. But when you see nation versus nation and kingdom versus kingdom, know that he is soon to come. The generation that begins with this first sign will not pass away until I return. What was the sign that begins a generation of 80 years? A global conflict, a world war. So the generation of 1914-1994 was supposed to see the return of Christ. The "end" is part of the sign leading up to his second coming. The end is not Armageddon. The end is the end of the gentile times, which occurred on November 29, 1947. The end is when you see the State of Israel appear.
When Christ appears as a thief in the night, he sends his angels out to gather the holy ones. How long does that take? The Second Coming and Armageddon are two separate events. So it is not the end of the world that happens within a generation, but the end of gentile rule and the actual Second Coming.
2. The "70 weeks" prophecy is correctly dated from 455 BCE to 36 CE. That prophecy begins with the "going forth of the word to rebuild Jerusalem". Guess what? The VAT4956 has double dating in it to 568 BCE as well as 511 BCE!! The text is dated to year 37 of Nebuchadnezzar. 568 BCE dates the fall of Jerusalem in 586 BCE. 511 BCE dates year 19 in 529 BCE. 511 BCE is the original date for year 37. But doesn't that change the "70 weeks" prophecy? No! The 70 weeks prophecy is based on the baptism of Christ in 29 CE; it cannot change. It must begin in 455 BCE. In fact, it must begin in the 7th month of 455 BCE!
If year 19 actually occurred in 529 BCE, then the 70-year exile began 4 years later in year 23, the year of the last deportation off the land. Year 23 fell in 525 BCE so the 70-year exile ended in 455 BCE! Is that a coincidence? No. The return actually occurred in 455 BCE. So the word going forth to rebuild Jerusalem, which must be uttered in the 7th month, is actually a reference to the 1st of Cyrus. So there is no problem with the 70-weeks prophecy. For JWs it just means it is fulfilled in the 1st of Cyrus instead of the 20th of Artaxerxes!!
This means Martin Anstey was right. He said if you go by the Bible, there are 82 years too many accorded to the Persian Period. If we subtract 82 from 537 we get 455 BCE as the true date of the return. Of course, the rebuilding in the 1st of Cyrus did begin specifically in the 7th month!
How does that impact on JW doctrine? It means that the Second Coming occurs in 1992 and not 1914. But that's okay, since the Second Coming has to occur before 1994.

I think from the evidence God/Jehovah has very little to do directly influencing men and their machinations. For if God/Jehovah "guides" men to write and teach, it will ALWAYS be the truth forever. Dear Jeffey Windering-Your commentary about using Prov 4:18 as an explanation of why your truth yesterday is not the truth of today and may not be the truth of tomorrow as being that God reveals "truth" in tiny doses so as not to overwhelm the poor prophets or the listeners ( but tell me Jeff which of those tiny doses comprise actual "truth" since many of the past "truths" have been discarded - in my world, discarded truths are usually referred to as "non truths" or lies for those who struggle with the nuanced wording).. revealing truth or judgements in small doses doesn't actually stack up in the bible. I cant see anywhere any prophet or spokesperson from God (as there were women as well) where they were given interpretations in "small doses". Look at Daniel for example concerning the dream that Nebuccunezzar had - he didnt repeatedly come back to the king with updated interpretations did he? No he spelled it out there and then and NOTHING Daniel said needed later adjustments etc. Did Noah give the people back in his day "small doses" of God's judgement? Did any of the prophets give their proclamations in small doses? Did Jesus give his proclamations to the Pharisees and religious leaders in small doses? Name anybody that proclaimed Gods judgements in "small doses". No Jeff, the only reason you tenaciously cling to Prov 4:18 ( which FYI is actually not even talking about the light of interpretations of scripture) is because you need something to justify the years of false statements and pronouncements.

As a JW myself of some 35 yrs + but somewhat faded, i could never reconcile the statement of "we are not inspired by God.. but we are GUIDED by God". To be inspired by God is to be moved by holyspirit to write, speak, teach and act in a manner that carries out God's will - usually for the purposes of teaching or alerting others as to a certain interpretation or course of action required. So by any definition, the JW claim of being "guided" by God is the same as being "inspired" by God. However, if the JWs are saying .. because we try to follow the Bible (according to our understanding of it) and because the Bible IS inspired, therefore in an indirect way, by following the bible we are being guided by God. That makes sense. HOWEVER, if you then constantly come out with statements that you claim are "truth" and revealed as "light" and then teach these "truths" AS IF THEY CAME DIRECTLY FROM GOD and then these "truths" are shown to be false, then you are NOT being guided by God at all!!! You are making Gods laws invalid because you are teaching laws of men. Also you use a star chamber judicial system which threatens disfellowshipping and shunning on any who question the authority of your "truth". In JW world, "truth" of yesterday is not "the truth" of today and may not be "the truth" of tomorrow. The JW have themselves built up a religious structure which ultimately undermines their own claims.

The WTS had it right the first time. The judgment of the sheep and goats occurs upon Christ's return in 1992.
But confounding their understanding is that they do not realize that there are TWO great tribulations! Matthew 24:29 clearly says, "Immediately AFTER the tribulation of those days... the sign of the Son of man will appear...". We know the great tribulation of Revelation comes after the Second Coming. The trubulation of Matthew 24 comes before the Second Coming. During the tribulation of Matthew 24, a majority of the holy ones are killed off! Huh? So the great tribulation of Matthew 24 is actually a reference to the Holocaust, and the "holy ones" in this case are the natural Jews.
So Christ separates the sheep from the goats upon his return in kingdom power in 1992 forward. The door to the wedding feast is closed long before Armageddon. So this separation is long over before the very end of Armageddon.
The new light is just another false teaching!!!

The Bible teaches that humans have a spirit, which is an intangible part of a person that connects them to God. But Jehovah's Witnesses (JWs) do not believe that humans have spirits or souls separate from their bodies. JWs changed the text in Revelation 1:10 to fit their belief.
