There's a good chance that we were along side of you at some point in time. USS Henderson DD-785. 1964-'68. Welcome home Shipmate.

hello al-im sure we refuled your ship-we were there about 7 months or so each year. it was a good time in my life -20 years old then- i got out in november of 1969. i really enjoyed subic bay and olongapo. sasebo japan was good also as well as yokusuka and singapore. we got initiated as a shellback when we crossed the equator on way to singapor.

I made three tours also after RM-A school. (well two and a half, my tin can was already in the Tonkin gulf when I got high lined to it from an AO that I can't remember it's name) We spent most of our time on the gun line and plane guarding for the flat tops. I recall doing a lot bitching, but it turned out to be a positive experience for a young boy from south Louisiana. Take care old Shipmate.
