What a joy to see some American Tex-Mex country and western singers and musicians showing reserved, staid Brits how to let their hair down without alcohol and forget their gloomy climate, depressing national news, high prices and bland food. Brilliant feel-good dance song from the 90s that is guaranteed to chase away your blues and make you forget any woman. Get the CD, play it at full volume and if you have one ounce of rythym in your body I guarantee you can't keep still or feel blue.
I was at this show , dancing in the isles , what a night , what music , what an amazing atmosphere-- never to be forgotten . What a terrific , bouncy song , Everyone was rocking -- the whole place was rocking , I' ll never forget it . Where has all the good music gone ? SuperKevind.
The joint was jumpin'! I enjoyed the London crowd reaction, there, and the love shown to The Mavericks. What superb musicians they are with that dynamite horn section, the explosive drummer, the incendiary guitarists, and the rocket-fueled Raul Malo! (I write this after dicing jalapenos, onions, garlic, cilantro, and limes for my pico de gallo--while dancing to this at the same time.)
I was this concert with my wife right at the start of a time I started making a lot of money with a new job. Remains one of the happiest nights of my life. These guys rocked.....
A touch of the Big O' in his voice, which cant be a bad thing, this is REAL music, played LIVE by REAL musician's and just LOOK how much everyone is enjoying it, So up yours Simon Cowell,!
The entire "stiff upper lip" audience at the Royal Albert hall,up off their collective arses and dancing the night away....Sheer Magic....Brilliant performance from Raoul and the Mavericks... I am watching during the dark times( trump and covid-19..not sure which is worse) in 2020 and wondering when we will be able to attend concert venues again.Good luck and good health to all. from Santa Cruz California August 2020
When ever I feel a bit down, I play this and it never ceases to lift me up. I also sing it at my local Karaoke bar, and people always get up and dance. I just love it
Ma quante rotelle hanno in più, questi complessi rispetto ai nostri ? Che meraviglioso sound,e che armonia di accordi !!!! Chapeau !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Antonio c.pastore
What a command of the audience ! Wow and a double wow!! Great voice, good horns , solid drums but the best , absolute best is the driving BASS. Its the same one that McCartney uses, Hohner I think. The superb sound mix with the stunning bass is amazing, so simple but so compelling and exciting. Well done to all. Envious of not having been there and dancing the night away.
Saw Raul last night in MK and he was superb as usual. On stage for over 2 hours. What a voice and when he gave the young lad his guitar to play with him on stage was brilliant. I bet he is still talking about now.
Heard this song many years ago in Germany. I heard it again this morning on a Swiss radio station. Kept a few lyrics in my head and Googled it and came up with this post. I wish I would have known this song 22 years ago, I would have played it with my band, The Roll time Lovers!! IWe would have gotten the Germans dancing all over the place. What a cool song.
Heel mooi nummer. Bij dit nummer hebbe wij echt afscheid genomen van de beste mens die ik ooit gekend heb. en daarmee is dit nummer voor mij nog veel mooier geworden. Theo van Hintum zal oe nooit vergeten opa..
Indeed, David! As a drummer myself, I have always been a big fan of Paul Deakin. He is just as solid as can be. Nothing fancy, just lays down a steady, driving tempo to lead the rest of the band. He seems to be always having a great time too!
That dmm..dmm..dmm..dmm you love so much is courtesy of Robert Reynolds on his Hofner "Beatle" bass. I just LOVE it that he plays a Hofner!! I asked him about his choice of basses one time at a show and he admitted it - he's a Beatles fan.
I saw The Maverics at The Summer Pops in Liverpool England a few years ago, OMG This man is AMAZING,,,,,he had us in the palm of his hand, the band wer fab, but lets face it, its HIM we all wanted to see ! He came out to sing a couple of songs on his own, just him and the guitar,,,,,,,,,I fell in love,,,,don't tell my husband !!
This Video was recorded in the Royal Albert Hall in London in 1998 by the Mavericks-Their first break up was in 1999 -the original Mavericks are getting together this year-check it out again
Wish I was there on that night. Totally underated.
I love the Mavericks I have 2 tapes listening to them all the time
I'd pay $2 k to see them in concert because they a worth it
these guys are international superstars. They should be playing the SuperBowl halftime show.

The energy in this never fails would loved to have been at that concert
Absolutely, fantastic song and performance. Loved it.
His music is addictive! Once you hear a little of it, you want more and more, and you can't get enough of it. A shame the band broke up.
They broke up for 10 years and got back together and are going strong. Check out their website for their concert schedule.
They came back and boy did they come back.
What I wouldn't have given to be at this concert - they are BRILLIANT!!!
Yes Lisbeth, even I would give a little kingdom for it...!
This song should never end...

My Gawd, this bring some memories. Pity, no one takes notice of this great band and Raul Marlo.
Raul Malo is very talented- he has quite a strong voice

So good to see a band that obviously are enjoying what they are doing ! Brilliant !!
