Who would have thought that a non-human character saying the simple phrase "YOU WANT SOME MORE" in a single tiny little scene you never see again would be so memorable? This movie really is a masterpiece. That moment's right up there with GIMME THE CASH.

Everytime I see a scene from the 5th Element I can't help to think how much better than Valerian is actually is. I was made with lots of originality and sarcasm. The bet was bold and Besson took it. With Valerian he went so much more mainstream-safe

(Sir Ian, Sir Ian) Sir Ian Holm was such an incredible and versatile actor. The Fifth Element, Brazil, and Alien are 3 of my favorite movies of all time and he played 3 completely different characters with 3 different "evil or good" sort of alliances and all brilliantly in those movies alone, not to mention over 100 other roles. RIP, may he rest in British actor heaven with all of the other "Sirs" and "Dames"

I was laughing at the robot and the multi-pass thing in the theatre when I saw this. I don't think anyone else was laughing, but I thought it was funny. What a quirky movie but I love the special effects and the story. I still was a little confused on what exactly Leeloo was. I guess the perfect weapon of love? Wasn't that the fifth element...love? Kind of like Captain Planet with the 5th power being heart? lol
basically. the actual fifth element in the lore of the movie is the light of good. love, compassion, joy, hope, etc. all that it entails. Korben's love for Leeloo is what powered the "element" aspect of her, just like David blowing on the wind stone and the sweat on the water stone, so on and so forth. and if people weren't laughing at the multipass scene and the robot bartender, they have no pulse.

It’s like the Spice Girls Holler vid, where they were the elements in the pyramid and together their friendship created the last element.

This being in a futuristic/dystopian universe, we don’t know that this is alcohol as we regularly know it. It could be some kind of synthetic beverage that has a different effect, or is stronger than today’s alcohol, and is meant only for light sipping. Maybe it’s liquid marijuana or ecstasy...
One thing I always liked about this movie is that they didn't kill all the sides characters like David. Modern movies love killing characters like that.

This movie is basically an adaptation of Valerian under a different name. A lot of what’s in it comes straight from the original comic.
Valerian failed because its 2 leads couldn't act to save there lives and had no chemistry
