    I'm sure it's not a standard industry practice but I'm a believer in one man feeding the chipper at a time for the very reason you show in this video and because getting whipped in the face with a wisp of a branch sucks.

    • @Human1337
      @Human1337  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely, dangerous enough doing it by yourself. I took a 2" limb to the face once from one I was feeding, could've lost an eye had I not be wearing safety glasses.

    HANGS!!!! Dead weight hangs are great for the shoulder brotha. I even use deadlift straps so I can relax my grip and let everything stretch. Might give it a try!! Also, acupuncture is dope, haha.

    Not sure if you covered this before but how did you get into tree climbing and learning all of the skills?

    • @Human1337
      @Human1337  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was a salesman at a Stihl dealer and fell in love with saws, which led to falling in love with hunickes videos and wanting to do it. As far as the skills, it was through my co-worker Joe, he's been climbing close to 20 years, showed me how it's done. You can learn alot from books/videos, I'll be the first to admit though that you can't learn how to climb except being in a tree with a climber.

    Love your videos, only thing I always notice is when making your notches you always cut your top cut first, i was always taught to make the bottom one first as to not pinch the bar, someone correct me if I'm wrong. Keep up the good vids though

    • @Human1337
      @Human1337  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can doe either first, I like to do the top first to see the chain when I'm next to done with the bottom cut.

      Human ahhhh i see, good point. See, steady learning lol, so im putting alot lately into stocking up on my OWN equipment rather than waiting for the boss to always turn down my good ideas on equipment that makes our job easier, more safe and efficient, so please keep doing those amazing product reviews and showing us the new cool stuff......its really widening my range of ways to do this type of work

    • @Human1337
      @Human1337  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love it. Haven't even used the ball cart yet though. Most logs I've found If I can stand them up, I just drop them onto the trolley and haul it out like that. It really sucks pulling uphill though, lol, as everything will.

    • @fhaverkamp
      @fhaverkamp 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Human Thanks, there is so much bashing going on with the brands it is hard to get an honest opinion. One of the "complaints" I've read is that it is not balanced well because of the wheel placement. To me just seems that on either device there will be a sweet spot for balance. You just need to find it and place the limbs according I would think. Thoughts on that? Thanks.

    • @Human1337
      @Human1337  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had actually read that as well, watch 8:40 in the video, put it in there just for that reason. You're 100% correct, just a matter of where the log is placed. I can't say I'm innocent of bashing "not happy with stein", I generally just go with what I feel is the best product though, regardless of what brand it is.

    • @fhaverkamp
      @fhaverkamp 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does it hurt when you hold something out away from your body at full extension? That's what I had along with the popping. Sometimes it would snap my hand open. Xray's will just show socket shape and wear so they will do an MRI to so any damage to tendons and fluid buildup. I had a split tendon and another hanging by a thread. The did Debridement on everything while they were in there as well. Had it done Jan 5 and still off. They say another 5 weeks. Rehab is slow because they don't want you to pull the pins out if yours is that bad. I'm 51 by the way. Good luck and I'd wait till the Winter as you will be down a while if they find something.

      @Human1337  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chiropractor today said that the issue is a nerve in my neck. Best news I've gotten in a long time!

    • @kjinohio5897
      @kjinohio5897 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That IS great news. If you can avoid surgery, do it. I've done some pretty excessive work over the years. Calcium deposits/build ups are what got me. Basically rubbing against them was sawing them apart. All frayed in the pics they gave me. That caused fluid build up and dull pain. Wait till your 50. LOL

    @stihltech206 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tendonitis/bursitis (don't know if I spelled that right) in the shoulder sucks. Been dealing with that popping and pain since about 4 yrs ago. Only way to get rid of it is stop whatever you were doing that made it hurt, your tendons don't like it.

      Absolutely

    • @samuelluria4744
      @samuelluria4744 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will admit, that unless it's really necessary, I just lack patience for high-angle face cuts.😏 On the other hand, I usually make much deeper face cuts than a lot of other guys have patience for, so....🤓 ......I know one guy who makes the tiniest little notches, that it is excruciatingly painful to watch😫😫😫

    • @donaldcostello8312
      @donaldcostello8312 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Samuel, when i used to make my face cuts i did use 45 degree angle cuts after trying the 70 degree face i notice the butt stay put not like the 45 when face makes contact lifts up and back, also i plunge cut and leave about 2 inches of hinge wood then wedge then make my release cut which give me more control have a good one

    Doc just told me I had a "clicking" and arthritis in my shoulder and needed physical therapy. I had the same deal lifting above the head hurt like a bitch. Time heals a lot of injuries but who can afford that anymore. What size is that light bar and do you like it?

    • @Human1337
      @Human1337  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a 28", and I love it. The 36" is just too much of a pain unless you really need it, so I dropped down to this bar, now I don't dread extended use of my baby, lol.

    • @Human1337
      @Human1337  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just prefer to be in control, had some not so great ground guys in the past that just couldn't follow simple instructions. Depending on the situation, if I can I like to set things up, then have them pull once I give the signal.

    your shoulder could just be a torn ligament, I can't lift my arm straight up Infront of me but if I bring my arm up sideways like jumping jacks I can get it above my head but it pops and snaps the entire time lol, I just can't stay off of it long enough for it to properly recover, whenever it feels good I do some dumb shit that fucks it up again lol

      I had one and it was deep in the cuff, surgery would have had to take it all apart to put it back together, so other things were done, once it's sort of better cortisone shots help the pain.
      An MRI is the best test to image it.
