The soul crushing moment when you lose Gideon in the teleporter and the silenced "OK" afterwards along with the "he's the one who activated the....." LOL
Your knowledge of the Codex Astartes, and the lore and laws of the Imperium of Man are . . . lacking, bordering on heresy. However, your knowledge of the game is prodigious, and after having this game on my radar for quite some time, I purchased it right after watching this play through and I'm looking forward to playing it on Sunday when it arrives. Cheers!
Very, very clear tutorial. Thank you. I especially liked how you explained everything in narrative terms (i.e. how every card reflects something concrete, such as the storm shield or the stealthiness of the grey squad), it's little touches like that that really brings a game to life for me (otherwise all we're doing is moving cards and rolling dice!)
Just got the game for my solo play and your run-through was a life saver. Anyhoo, you had an excellent run in this session cos I'm still at 0-4 to the genestealers...
Thanks for the runthrough! I was inspired to pick this up again after not having played it in a while. It was a blast, I actually managed to acheive a dominating victory. I had a little synergy going between the librarian's chain attack and the swords' support token generation which, with a lot of luck, worked out well.
Glad I watched this video. I've played a few solo games and they were brutal challenges but fun. Almost made it once. But I misread the rules and thought I could only use the action with 1 of the marines of the team. That makes it a LOT harder!
Love the Instinct mechanism! Great play through Richard, very entertaining. I'm buying Space Hulk: Death Angel pronto! Damn cliffhanger ending, you must share what happened, I'm guessing you managed the win, but did the remaining four Space Marines survive?
That was really interesting to follow along as well as a helpful tutorial to learn the game. I thought I was just tired, but it seemed a bit overwhelming the first time I read through the manual to understand the setup / turns. This was certainly useful to get my first game started! Did you end up winning this match? How close was it?
when you play the game, each team of marines has 3 cards, and each round, each team will play one of their cards, and on the next round, they're not allowed play that card. i'm just representing that by having all the cards for the 3 teams all on the table at once (since i was filming one handed, and therefore couldn't hold the cards in my hand like normal) :)
36:27 You moved Genestealers up, but they should actually go down (you didn't looked at the little arrow on the space marine that was engaged with them)
Bojan Prakljacic AFAIK he moved it correctly. On the right side of the Space Marine cards there's an arrow pointing up. On the left side there's an arrow pointing down. The genestealers were on his right side, thus moving up.
at 41:12, did he put that genestealer in the wrong spot? it should have gone on the red terrain but he added it to the stack on the bottom space. :) regardless, excellent walk-through... always fun to see a game in action when trying to learn it and this was very informative.
Thanks for this video but I have a question. You said you missed your chance to take advantage of Overwatch (red support card) but you had played an attack card for that combat team. My understanding was that you couldn't use the Overwatch effect unless you had played that card for that round, am I wrong?
dude just bought this game . read the manual confused the hell out of me. I felt completely over whelmed i watched other videos they walked through it but left questions. YOU answer the what if scenarios that was curious about such as moving and so on and so forth even the alien movements. FF SHOULD HAVE HIRED YOU TO MAKE THE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!
Great vid rahdo. The manual included isn't very clear on certain aspects, especially setting up the room features and spawns. Your vid explains this and more very clear so that's great. One thing though around the 34 minute mark you move rooms (away from teleporter) but you dont change the respawns for the new room. Is that correct?
I got this game too, I think its pretty nice but I'd need to figure out a way to use more dice instead of one to even the odds. I mean, last game went pretty badly because in 8 rolls we got 0 kills.
It's called a bolter, not a submachine gun. Protip: maybe don't do this on a glass table where your cards are always spinning. Also there's more shaky cam than a christopher nolan fight scene. I give this video an F for production quality.

Great video. Just paid WAY too much for this game after watching this video. Quite happily. Can’t wait to play it!
How much usd?
great video on SHDA.. one of the best (if not the BEST) session on SHDA in the TH-cam,

Extremely clear walkthrough - thank you. Convinced me to go and buy it!

This game is relentless! Just ordered the expansions, looking forward to some new unpleasant surprises. ;)
Very good videoreview, as usual. Congratulations and thank you, Rahdo!!
The movement at 36:27 was actually correct - genestealers on the right always move up not down. So you can delete your annotation.

Awesome Vid man your gameplay was most helpful for me, thanks for putting up this vid.
You're costing me a lot of money lately. Lol.
Keep up the great work!
:) Glad you got the reference. I should give this game another go. I didn't quite get the hang of it the first time.
Love the Instinct mechanism! Great play through Richard, very entertaining. I'm buying Space Hulk: Death Angel pronto! Damn cliffhanger ending, you must share what happened, I'm guessing you managed the win, but did the remaining four Space Marines survive?
It's easy when someone shows it to you visually. Reading the rules they wrote is another matter altogether :D
Thanks for the video. I got myself a copy. Going to try it out this week.
How much did you pay for the copy? It spiked in price recently.
Can all the expansions also be played solitaire?
That was really interesting to follow along as well as a helpful tutorial to learn the game. Looks like fun. I think I'll go pick it up today. Thanks.
Love this game great run through, by the way the expansions are worth it
Very helpful in deciding to get this game! Thanks!
Awesome job! I plan to get this game soon.
Thanks for the nice game play video. Appreciate it.
Very nice video. Made my mind on buying this game. Thanks!!
Great review and play-through...Thanks!
Never played the game but for alien movement, wouldn't it be just the alien with the corresponding symbol and not its whole stack that moves?
+musicnoital04 nope it's the whole stack :)
+rahdo When a team mate dies can a stack of enemy cards get added to another stack when it moves up/down?
+MrGreeneyes77 yup :)
Great video. I'm sending you a pair of sox. :)
i dont understand a thing from that 3x3 grid in the corner and what it does.

Gotta love brother Skippy O.
Cool game and great video!!!

+Alberto Enriquez it was already noted! Thanks

What are the minimum and maximum players for this game?
Would you say it was worth the buy?
Awesome! Thanks for the great vid!
Great video, thanks!
Bought! Thanks to you, also Escape, Curse of the Temple..E..s..c..a..p..eeee
Good information; bad camera shaking and focus
beautiful job - seems like an easy game and easy rules, what're all the complaints about? :-)
great vid
Your shaky cam makes me all nervous :)
It says in the rulebook you either spawn or move swarms during the event phase. You did them both during event phase.
Lexikinnius Ca'MackleMackle. ROFL
***T*H*A*N*K*****Y*O*U*** you have no idea how much this helped. I actually enjoy this game now. You are the ONLY tutorial I found that was clear.
You should have written the instructions for this game. Thanks!
Wow. This guy likes his caffeine...
Stop disrespecting the standard Terminators! Also it helps if you pronounce it Sip-ee-oh, sounds less wussy. Anyway great video, thanks.
Well, I have been playing it wrong the entire time and it still was very difficult.
Just bought it 2 days ago, based upon your video. It's same you does not know a thing about this universe.
You're Goldblumming. Check out the clip from Community.
'Submachine gun' LOL...
i will roll a DICE!!
lolol
love the vid....it's called a bloter not smg :)

hmm with real GW models it could be better:)
