Great info for all anglers. I’ 70 years old and have thousands of $ in tackle! Yet when it comes down to it you are absolutely correct. These are the necessities! Thank you!
I like how you keep it simple and suggest some of the "old school" lures. There is so much new tackle out there its overwhelming but all you need are the ones shown in this video to be successful
As far as jigs go I like the old reliable Jack of all trades Arkie jigs for versatility and there ability to come through all cover. They can also be used for a swim jig. Unlike a football jig they don’t sink down in a mud bottom as easily.
Wow, thank you! I needed this refresher!! Too many options, rods, reels, lines, colors, weights, styles, actions, advice, and on and on - it becomes anxiety inducing and creates a paralysis of analysis mindset. Thanks for hitting the reset button!! 😊
Glenn, please do a follow up video on matching weights (which you did mention in passing) and hook types and sizes for soft plastics. Your content is always spot on. Thanks for sharing with the community.
Here are two videos on choosing hooks: th-cam.com/video/tbI8h1XMAvc/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/BTk3ZGTh5IM/w-d-xo.html . And here's a video on choosing the right weights: th-cam.com/video/WI4FHXg3S0I/w-d-xo.html Enjoy!
I've been fishing for nearly 30 years and am guilty of having to have every new bait that comes out in every color. Because of all that, it's overwhelming trying to decide what to throw,to the point of losing interest in fishing. This video reminded me to just simplify and have fun. Thanks Glenn
As much as I like floro, there's been many test that shows floro breaks a lot easier than mono, esp abrasion categories. Floro also isn't as good as mono when stretched then restretched also. 😞
You may want to check the dates on those tests. Fluorocarbon lines have made huge advancements in recent years. So much so, that many people who were reluctant to switch from mono to FC, have.
Comment and question.First off great content.Kayak angler looking to simplity tackle. All bases cover although I have a couple of places I fish that bass will only seem to hit bluegill patterns.Question, you mention twin tail trailers for spinner baits.Ehat do you use for jig trailers?

Wanna sell some😊 I’m looking for used fishin gear … begging fishing as a hobby now.🤷🏼🤦🏼
Nothing quite makes my day, like a freshly dropped BassResource vid with Glenn May. Tight lines!
Well thank you! That even rhymes! :)

thank you so much. exelent video.
Glad it was helpful!
I would think a medium power rod would be better for spinning as far as versatility concerns.

No. I typically use plastic craw trailers such as Rage Craws. Hope that helps!
👍
Why would you want both your rods the same power and action?
