When you take off, on your right at the bridge used to be a one acre beaver pond. The beavers got trapped out in the 80's.
3:46 If you continue left off trail instead of turning, you'll find a huge open area where a slide happened long ago. 14:04 and 15:40 are the top of it.

O man thanks for the info. It's so cool to hear the history of this place. I cant wait to get back up riding. I'll have to check these spots out.

Had some Dual Sport buddies invite me up to Cat Creek camp for the weekend about a month ago. First thing they did was drag me up #271 & #272. What they didn’t tell me was they weren’t bringing their DR’s & XR’s. Instead I was surrounded by KTM and Husky 200-300’s. I felt like an old pack mule chasing mountain goats riding a XR400R...thought I was getting an advantage bringing the XR...I’m sure they got a good laugh...

LOL o man. It's been awhile since I've seen a xr400r up there. I'm sure it did everything you asked, might of took a little more persuasion tho lol.

The old XR was not setup for those trails...wore me out. Did get a chance to ride other bikes. Really had a blast on a little Ktm200...Cat Creek to Hamilton Butte...#118, #109a, #119 and back on #271...
