So the role reito sentinel plays in the deck can be optimized with thunder junction.... There is a 2 mana artifact creature from the spoilers I'll comment it's name below
Tomb trawler it's a 2 mana 0/4 artifact creature with 2: put target card from your graveyard on the bottom of your library.. Can't hit the opponent but it prevents mill wins and sets you up for longer grinds games
The secret deck tech to beat this card?! You would need a card that can: -Exile graveyards so they can't get cards out of the graveyards -or can help you gain life in case you are up against mono red -or a card that comes in with a big body after a board wipe to help you recover Plus it would need flash so the would need flash so they never see it coming! It's the velocity of a cat combined with the skill of a warrior! Basically a creature to outflank them! But no one has a card like that! Not even Kutzil!
That's awesome, although Elesh Norn shuts off ETB's. The deck certainly seems better in Bo1 but I'd love to see decks that are good against this. I keep getting stomped despite how much GY hate I run
@jackpabich763 in BO3 I rarely lose to this deck with Golgari, especially after sideboard! I main deck 3 thrillbacks anyway, then hand hate (not lili) tears this deck apart as their hand is so many lands, take the couple of spells and have a decent clock and you're good.
Shouldn't just countering the Rage be good enough most of the time? You'd need a hard counter, since they will be able to pay for No More Lies, but Negate is a playble card.
Funny how Virtue of Strength was seen as a worst Virtue in the cycle from Eldraine, and now it’s part of one of the best decks in standard. Definitely keen to see if they’ll print new sac lands in time before rotation kills this seck

I think you just lost the last game regardless against mono red. Their hand was nuts. Even if you drew the land, they hand monstrous rage so your block/sac with the analyst wouldn’t have been enough and they would have trampled for full dmg.
What a banger of a deck. I love your brews! This is by far one of the best as you have so many ways of winning. Absolutely fun! Thank you for the sharing.

I hate playing against these decks because it’s BORING as hell being on the other side. The lack of rotation and “combo” decks has made me stop playing magic. I’ll come back when they rotate perhaps.
That only matters on initial cast. Once the spell has been put on the stack and targets declared as long as at least one target is still legal the spell will resolve as much as possible

I think it is a failure from game designers if burn or rush down is top t1. It should generally be t2 to prevent an ultra greed control meta from happening. If it has to be t1 because it is the only answer to some other degenerate deck then that means you really fucked up the set design wise.

Okay, I apologize for the rant, but I need to know if I'm the only one experiencing this. Every few days, I play a string of maybe 10-12 straight games against perfect decks, with perfect draws. I literally couldn't win under any circumstances. And I'm not exaggerating -- in each game during this stretch, the opponent has absolutely perfect synergy among all of his cards, and draws exactly what he needs, while I am inevitably either mana screwed, flooded, or one mana short of doing what I need to do to stay in the game. In each game during this stretch, I leave the game asking "if he could have picked his first 10-15 cards, would he have picked any different?" and the answer is "absolutely not, that was perfection." And what's crazy is -- many of these are off-meta decks. Tonight was one of those stretches (if you couldn't tell) and I played against all kinds of things. A Sarkhan deck, with three Dracosaurs on the field by turn 6. An Isshin deck, with a card called "Connect The Dots" that I have never seen before. A Mardu Warleader's Call / Song of Totentanz / Case of Uneaten Feast deck that made a million rats and gained a million life and did a million damage. I've never seen these decks anywhere, and I probably won't see them ever again -- almost all of the crazy perfect decks I play during these stretches are one-offs, never to be seen again. Last week there was a 5-color deck with every creature land and every sweeper; a deck based around Caves and Spelunking that killed me with Cavernous Maw; a Three Blind Mice / Doppelgang deck; the list goes on. They all drew perfectly and curved out perfectly and absolutely crushed me, and I haven't seen them again in the next 75 matches. Ultimately I guess my question is -- is it just me having this experience?
What rank are you? If you’re in diamond or mythic it’s probably safe to say you’ve played enough standard for it to not be a skill issue. It still could be, but knowing roughly how good you’re doing can help us figure out what the problem is. Idk what decks you use, but if it’s your own you might have to make the deck more consistent so that you don’t get screwed as often. You also didn’t mention if the opponents you faced used decks with a good matchup on you. There are a lot of factors that it could be. We also know the client seems like it screws people more than when you play mtg in real life so who knows if it’s the client.
I've had a different but similar issue... I play my black and white life gain... I go second every time... Play mono red (a gank version I made) and I go first every game. Been like this for a week. Super frustrating. They recode something? Sounds like there is a recurrence issue. I've ranged quite 2 nights in a row due to never getting to go first and meeting a turn 2-3 red or green deck vs. my life gain. I can't even get going before I'm dead.
@@itzmasterz Diamond, but I have seen this in Platinum as well (although not as often). There are several cards which could mess with the combo but most of them are useless against other decks. Also vote for flanker
Honestly, just dealing with Nissa's on command is usually enough.
