- I visited Italy's biggest stadium to watch Inter Milan v Lecce in the Serie A.
The San Siro in Milan is home to Football Club Internazionale Milano and Associazione Calcio Milan (AC Milan) and is one of the most iconic stadiums in world football.

Stadium is still officially the Giuseppe Meazza. Meazza led Italy to World Cup wins in 1934 & 1938 (was captain in 1938). Inter legend. Later, during World War II, he briefly played for both Milan and Juventus. He later managed Italy. Possibly most iconic player globally of pre World War II era.

The match was forbidden to the away fans and no one travelled thousand kms. Lecce's under the shad were locals. that's all
Went there back in 2000, beautiful stadium. Saw Milan beat Udinese. It was amazing.... the atmosphere by the Ultras with the flags, Tiffo and Flares was so good.

the stadium is known with both names san siro or Giuseppe Meazza but this last one is the official name since 1980 (Meazza played for both ac and inter but he had his best and was a legend only for inter).
something we can add is that the square where the stadium is located is the Piazza Angelo Moratti (Historical Inter President in the 1955-1968 Great Inter era)

The second team of Milano is called "milan" with the accent on the "i" as per the local dialect, "AC" means "Associazione Calcio"... or "football association".
The team's name IS NOT "football association" but milan.
It's like you say not Manchester United but "football club" because it's full name is FC Manchester United.
The second team of Milano is FC Inter, not AC Milan, there's a little difference in the palmares... ;)

A cathedral of football, why can it not be saved like Notre Dam . I went there 2001 to see Inter v Ipswich in the UEFA Cup ,we took 10,000 fans . Ipswich beat them at Portman Road, but lost in the San Siro, I saw Ronaldo, Vieri, Zanetti and Seedorf play my club ✌💙⚪

Sunday against Lecce it was my third time at San Siro (i live in sicily so it's a long way and not always possible since it needs time and preparation for me to stay in Milan and plan everything, always a great emotion, never getting tired of those sensations
I am an Inter season ticket holder. Prices vary significantly depending upon where you sit & opposition. Tickets for games vs Juventus & Milan can run into €300 to €400 for best (non-VIP) seats. My season ticket is around €1,500 to €1,600 a year (section 160).
Wow that's a lot for the bigger games. I think 14EUR for the game v Lecce was a good price though. Thanks for watching and good luck for the rest of the season

The San Siro is staying put for a while so don't panic. Great video though, one of the most iconic stadiums to visit. I think you need to head into France and the Stade Velodrome! Marseille playing well too.
That’s what I thought about the stadium too? Quite surprised mainstream belief is that it’a about to disappear, sounds like the two Milan clubs are never gonna agree.

Was there to watch AC Milan Vs Celtic in the last 16 of the champions League 2006/07 and seen Kaka score the winner, iconic stadium.

This was my first ever visit to the San Siro from the UK and in the same section as you. After seeing your Monza video I was hoping I might bump into you here but not to be this time! I thought the ultras next to us were class considering the game. Love your overseas vlogs, keep them coming!
Long story,but I drove into the Welsh fans allocated parking area at the Italy v Wales 4-0 game in 2003! There was only 10 away fans cars,in an area for about 200! Paradise for driving in and out of that day! Italian fans though, qued for about 2 hours to get out of their parking area😁 Felt so sorry for them! Grazie Italia FA!

Didn't realise the San Siro was being knocked down. Went to an Inter v Sampdoria match there during a work trip to Milan back in 2006, the stadium was only around half full for that one but it was still a good atmosphere. I remember the Inter fans were singing a song to the tune of Popeye the Sailor Man.

Went for the Milan Derby back in 2019, just before all the madness of the pandemic happen, as a Inter fan it was bucket list as I had heard about plans for a new stadium, gotta say your ticket was alot cheaper than mine.

Hiya Sam, I can Remember when Aston Villa went to San Siro, for the 3rd goal the ball went over the bye line so the goal shouldn't of counted, Aston Villa won the 1st leg 2-0 at Villa Park, but Inter Milan won the 2nd leg 3-0, and Inter Milan went on to win the UEFA cup that year, In 1999 Manchester United beat Inter Milan 2-0 at Old Trafford,1 week later Paul Scholes scored an away goal for a 1-1 draw, away goals counted then, and Manchester United went on to do the treble, its a shame Manchester United didn't win the the 2nd leg, but we cant have everything, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumberland, England
I went to this game myself, travelled from Preston, Lancashire…at €10 a ticket, it was great value and an excellent atmosphere

Giuseppe Meazza is the name of the stadium, but in Milan we commonly call it San Siro because that’s the name of the district the stadium is in.

Nice video mate, next time in Italy You should definitely come to Bari's San Nicola stadium, it will be a completely different experience, trust me, the beer will come for a fraction of what You paid in Milan, and the sun it's a lot warmer! 🤭 Get a ticket for Curva Nord, sit a bit on the side and not on the core maybe, and You will enjoy it so much! I share this passion too, in the last few years I was lucky enough to visit the Maracanà, Wembley, Hupton Park, Stamford Bridge, Hampden Park, Camp Nou, and others.❤⚽

I also went to this game and went on my own. I have to say the atmosphere was incredible. I only paid €10 for my ticket and £50 for my flight from Manchester airport (return). Was worth every penny

For the name thing, basically it's like Highbury/ Arsenal stadium. One (San Siro) Is the name of the area and how the ground is most commonly know, the other is the official name.
You said you wanted to see the stadium in its original form. It has been added to to it`s current status. The roof , upper tiers behind the goals and I think the area you were in were added for the 1990 World Cup

Well the official attendance for this game was given as 75,033... So not that many empty seats.
I always thought that when AC Milan play at home the stadium is being called San Siro and when Inter play that It’s being called Giusseppe Meazza. I don’t know if now both teams call it the San Siro.
That doesn't actually happen, it's just a video game thing to differentiate between inter being at home and Milan. The official name is Giuseppe Meazza but San Siro, the name of area, is more popular. But inter fans tend to call it more Giuseppe Meazza because Meazza was an inter legend, but it's still Giuseppe Meazza when Milan plays

The day before I was Genoa against Lazio in a full stadium.
Then Corona came and the game in Milan was canceled. I only had a walk from the hotel to closed San Siro. :(
