I only get percale as a rule but as mentioned before , I’m ordering some Bamboo sheets. Sferra or Frette are my absolute favorites in Percale because they use extra long Egyptian cotton and is crafted in Italy. I’ve had several sets of both and some are nearly 12 years old and I rotate them all. They are really wonderful. Bedding is my vice and my bed is my sanctuary. I’m living for these videos, Sarah! :)

Can you link me to their site?
I’m thinking of buying heavyweight percale bedding from the good sheet
I purchased ettitude bamboo cover set it got so hot like synthetic lost colour and sheen after washing

Well they should be the absolute best for what they cost! Some of the sheets they sell cost more than my bed did! 🤣

Most of my sheets right now are Egyptian Cotton - soft enough without being too expensive. Between percale and sateen I prefer percale. It's lighter and cooler and I do enjoy that bit of crispness that percale gives.

What a great informative video. I never thought about how my sheets were woven. I always looked for a higher thread count for softness. I love the look of sateen , but for me percale is the way to go. I like cool and crisp in the summer. Love these videos!

Percale are my faves... I love to sleep cool year 'round. Question: my sheets never seem to wear out.... I would really like a new set but I can't justify the expense when my sheets are just fine. I have had them for about 10 years... How long should they last for? I love your videos ❤️

  • @maryanna71701

Thank you for all the time and effort you put into researching this topic. I’m not sure if my current sheets are percale or sateen- I think sateen, but I’m not sure. My sheets are Vera Wang- Simply Vera 800 thread count sheets- they are heavy, substantial, silky feeling and super luxurious- I have bought them for three of my daughters and several grandchildren. My one son in law says they are the very best sheets he has ever slept on- my daughters love them- they launder extremely well.

    • @maryanna71701
      @maryanna71701 4 ปีที่แล้ว

I looked them up- they are Egyptian cotton and sateen- I love them. I know you can find higher thread counts, but mostly those are out of my range of affordability.

Love these very informative vids by Sarah! I probably buy way too many sheet sets looking for the perfect softness lol, but thanks to previous videos I've been able to find good sets that were worth it. Also, now I know I'm not crazy for disliking how hot I seemed to sleep under a set or two of sateen sheets I received as gifts. I love my percale sheets, especially as a hot sleeper living in Florida! I absolutely love Egyptian cotton sheets tho, do wish I could find them easier at a more friendly cost on a fixed income. Thank you for all the helpful information!

Thanks for the info. I had no idea what the differences were between percale and sateen. I think I prefer percale, but I'd have to check if that's what I actually own. I think I pay more attention to what cotton goes into my sheets--I always look for ELS cotton.

I purchased snowe home percale sheets an have no regrets. I wish i had bought their sateen sheet at the same time. I don't see them anymore for purchase an think they discontinued them. Once I find a good brand an know I'm getting quality i usually stick with them. I may half to venture into parachute sheet for my next purchase of sateen sheets.

percale is a weave style and Egyptian cotton is a form of cotton I prefer the crisp cool sleep of percale rather than the slickness of sateen , sateen has a shine that can fade a bit with washings.

    Hello Sarah,
I have been looking in to purchasing bamboo sheets as my partner and I live in Florida, where it is warm and humid year-round. The combination of cooling and anti-microbial properties seem like a definite win-win for us.
In my search I keep coming across the brand Cariloha, and I was wondering if you have had any experience with their products? Specifically, I’m looking at their sateen “Resort” sheets (as I do prefer the feel of sateen to percale). If you have any advice it would be greatly appreciated!
    All the best,
    - Connor

I love crisp, cool sheets, but hate wrinkles. Anybody else here miss the prevalence of poly-cotton blends from the 70s & 80s? The were perfect! Cool, crisp, comfortable, and wrinkle-free. And they wore like iron. I still have sets that are over forty years old! I can't stand this trend of Egyptian cotton! They're the scratchiest, hottest, most uncomfortable sheets I've ever owned.
