Is it personal preference on pilings weather round or square?

I prefer they’re round they are much stronger and they’re not as expensive. Some homeowners associations do require Square pilings.
      Thanks for your comment 👍

Pro job clean look. Extra on the deadman this wall shouldn't budge for decades. Question: why aren't all the pilings all on center and also, do you ever cap the pilings along with the wall? I've seen it before not necessary but looks cleaner and prolongs top rot resistance of the pilings

You don't put any type of french drain behind the seawall . For directional of the hydrostatic water pushing against it ❓ Or tar or grease the wood to preserve it ❓❓. 🤷🏻‍♂️ just asking. I'm gonna put
A seawall in front of my cottage. Small private lake. Just so I can build up the edge. Level it off.
Easier to walk on. Look at 😃😲

Paul Betka Hey Paul thanks for your comment, I use 4 foot well points on 5 foot for centers just above the high tide line to relieve the hydrostatic pressure from behind the seawall. If I get into areas where there are springs I will use a 6-8 inch corrugated pipe with either Styrofoam or gravel French drain system. Not really sure about the Tar or Grease haven’t heard of that, we use 2.5 CCA a treatment which is saltwater treated lumber when we install in the water and .80 CCA when we are out of the water. Good luck with building your seawall hopefully I’ve given you some good ideas here.👍

Thanks for watching my page. That’s terrible to hear what was the cause of the retainer wall failure? The construction method?
