  • I recently purchased the 4 person air tent from Decathlon. Is it worth the hype??
    I done my own little review and timelapse of me assembling and dismantling the tent. After my guest sleep in the tent for 2 nights, I get their thoughts too. NO BIAS OPINIONS. 😎

    We had the Quechua inflatable gazebo that we used in conjunction with our campervan. A brilliant piece of kit, especially in windy weather, as the air tubes can flex where alloy or fibreglass poles may not, leading to pole breakages.

    Thanks for sharing your experience of the tent. I purchased one and really enjoyed my first week camping in it. 😊

    Great tents. They can take a beating. They are rated up to 37mph, but I was in one that eventually gave up the ghost at about 50-55mph (before it got very close to a hurricane at 69mph, which flattened everything. We had to deflate it, tie it down, and retreat to the community centre, but in the morning it could be re-inflated with no damage). If it had been a tent based around fibreglass poles, it would have been destroyed at 35-45mph, and we would have had to have gone home if we didn't have a spare set of poles.
    The best bit about these is that you can actually stand up. It might not sound like much, but I once used a smaller tent and managed to get a silly injury (broken rib) on holiday. Believe me, if you can't get dressed standing up, it can be a very painful experience trying to do it lying down.
    I wouldn't, however, tie it to a hard point, like your campervan, if wind was expected.
    The blackout bedroom is the most comfortable place to be if you have a proper airbed and earplugs on a campsite.

    Hi, thats a nice review, thank you. Just a question about connecting the tent to the van. Does the tent come with the canopy and how do you connect to the van?

    Hi thanks for this vid, Its helped me to make my choice! And just FYI - When packing the tent away the best method is to start by folding in a porch bay in like you did, and then treat the rectangle on its side and fold it into thirds, then half and then roll. This way the vales are facing the end f the roll so more air can come out! But thanks for you insight B-)

    Lay it all out as rectangle but fold from the side opposite the valves so that the excess air is expelled through the valves. The mistake in the video was folding the side where the valves are located which trapped all the remaining air in the tubes.
    Alternatively, a lot of these pumps can be reversed (suck instead or blow) allowing you to suck out all the air in the tubes, then put the valve caps back, if this was done before any folding then it would all pack much smaller.

    Hi there, i bought this only yesterday, is there a special connector to make the porch attach to the roof bars on the van?

    • @the_groovy_life
      @the_groovy_life  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Dave. No I just use the elasticated loops that are already on the porch door. They work great 👍

    Looking to get one of these for an upcoming festival, worried about people pooping the inflated tubes with cigarettes, can you shed any light on if they good and thick and wouldn't pop easily?

    • @the_groovy_life
      @the_groovy_life  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! I honestly don't think it would pop that easily. Someone would have to purposely be trying to pop it. X

      can confirm can be set up and packed away by one, after a quick try out, torrential thunder storm, over one night and no leaks.. I've the fresh and black, have to remember to put the flaps up on the front door, and side screen windows to prevent water ingress👍. but a great tent none the less
