I am a 64 year old disabled man, and Mary Tyler Moore is a great talent who provided me with a lot of joy. I will never forget her stunning dramatic performance in "Ordinary People". Seeing her grave does not make me happy because I miss her badly. Like my Mom, Mary Tyler Moore's last few years were bad ones, and she broke my heart when she died. I'll never forget how she stood by Valerie Harper when she faced a terminal illness. R.I.P.
She seemed like a good person though I did not know her. I loved watching reruns on Nick At Nite of the Mary Tyler Moore show back when I was a child in the 90's.
@@johnjoanisse5760 Hi, if you don't mind me saying, at least she was very lucky to have reached the age she did when she passed. Some people don't get to live that long. I think her brother and sister passed at a much younger age according to her wikipedia bio.
Mary Tyler Moore was a fantastic actress, hilarious on The Dick Van Dyke show and of course her own wonderful show. Mary also won a Golden Globe for her performance in the 1980 film Ordinary People, a drama, she was brilliant in that movie.
Truly, Mary Tyler Moore "turned the world on with her smile", and she "made it after all." As a diabetic myself, she was (and still is) a role model for me and millions of others. She made it all the way to 80 with this ailment. EIGHTY!
"Ordinary People" was made shortly after the death of her son Richie. Robert Redford (the producer of the movie) said that he had seen her walking on the beach and after watching her for awhile, he KNEW she could handle the part because she had something to draw upon. And she did not let him down. This was actually the great performance of her life.
Mary Tyler Moore was an extreme lover of animals and absolutely adored dogs like her best friend Betty White this is an absolutely wonderful VLOG I love seeing her grave while it’s not covered in snow
Her husband did everything with great taste and planned a gravesite that would be accessible to her many fans. He was very good to her and I believe gave her the security and affection which she sought for most of her life.
What a beautiful cemetery. Thank you Steve! Once again, you are always so respectful and kind. She was a great actress. Definitely paved the way for so many female actresses. ❤️🕊️🙏
Such a beautiful cemetery and so interesting about it being an apiary! I used to babysit quite often on Saturday evenings and when the kids were all finally asleep I looked forward to watching her show---good memories. Thanks for this wonderful video, Steve!
That was my Saturday night, too! Babysat across the street from my house and after the kids were asleep I raided the fridge and watch MTM.. :) Loved her!
Mary Tyler Moore & Bernadette Peters founded Broadway Barks, an annual adoption event held every July in Schubert Alley. The event is produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. Both of them wanted to do something for animals & this event brings together rescue groups & people looking for pets. I've attended a few times & it's wonderful at bringing pets, people, the rescue community & celebrities together.
Mary Tyler Moore was a great actress I remember first watching her on the Dick Van Dyke Show and when she went on to get her own show may she Rest In Peace.
Nice video. Just a couple of corrections: Mary moved to California when she was a child and was raised in Los Angeles, which is why her family is buried there. And yes, she was a huge dog/animal lover. She and Bernadette Peters founded Broadway Barks, a charity for animals, back in 1998. There are some great TH-cam videos of her talking about her horses and dogs. She often appeared on Letterman with her dog.
Steve, great video! Years ago I had heard that she met her husband while in New York after taking her mother to the ER, and the relationship followed. I have the same thoughts that this is where her husband wanted to be buried, and that this may be where his family members are also. Here in the mid-west funeral processions are still the norm. In 2020 my parents both died after getting COVID, and just a couple of weeks after my dad passed mom’s procession was lead by the local police department as she was a big supporter of our men in blue. She always had baked items or meals for them late into the night. She had been a night auditor for a local motel, and loved having them visit her, and they loved having a friend that cooked homemade things for them. It was so touching that they never forget her kindness after her retirement years later. Ed Asner’s grave is still unmarked only his families marker is in place. The year won’t be until I think August or September.
I live in North Carolina, and funeral processions are still the norm, and everybody pulls over on both sides of the road and stops to let the procession pass.
I first saw folks pulling off on both sides of the road showing respect back in 1986 while attending a funeral in Texas. Shortly after I started seeing this done here in Missouri. That’s one thing that I like about funerals as it’s shows so much kindness for others dealing with grief.

MTM was an intelligent and beautiful comedic actress. She never over-shadowed her supporting actors, but let them shine. I think this location is considerably more beautiful than is the San Fernando Valley, so I can see why she chose to rest here. Thanks for taking us there to see her gravesite.
Thank you, for the trip to Mary’s resting place, Steve. Daffodils, may have been Mary’s favorite Spring, Flower. It must be quite lovely, when all are in fresh bloom. Yes Ed, Gavin, Betty, and I think Cloris, all died in 2021, the same year we lost our, Mothers. I miss my Mother, very much. ✨🕊✨
I've been binging the entire series of MTM and am almost done with season 6 (on Hulu with no ads - so worth the higher fee). One more season to go and I've enjoyed it so much! It's funny, touching, great writing and character development. My mom got me into the show as it was one of her faves in the 70s. RIP Mary, thank you. xo
Wow, the video makes the cemetery look beautiful. I'm sure it looks much better in person. A fitting tribute to MTM, everybody's favorite gal. Thank you Steve.

She is certainly buried in a beautiful place. I’m wondering if maybe she wanted the serenity of someplace quiet since She was so popular. Or maybe She found this place the most comforting place on earth. Whatever Her reason was, She picked a lovely, lovely area. She was so loved and extremely funny and talented. Hi Steve, MTM once appeared on Betty White's show Pet Set with her 2 poodles. This was before Betty began her role as Sue Ann Nivens. If you ever catch a scene on the MTM Show where Mary sits at her little apartment desk, you will see a photo of her 2 poodles in a frame. Also, the actor Jason Robards is buried at Oaklawn. Great video Steve...this is the most extensive and complete video of Mary Tyler-Moore;s grave that I've seen. I know friends who have visited her grave site and spoke to cemetery groundskeepers. I believe that you're right...the grave to the right is supposed to be for her third husband.
Thank you Steve for sharing the memories with us today, Maery Tyer Moore has a peaxeful resting place and it was lovely, I know her fans miss her and i hope she resting peacefully.
What a beautiful cemetery and final resting place for such a lovely lady. As always you provide such respectful commentary with your visits. Thank you Steve for making us feel like we are right there with you paying our respects. ☀️😊
The wonderful impact Mary Tyler Moore has had on my life cannot be measured. I'm a diabetic myself, and I have a huge appreciation for Mary's decision to share her journey with us, not to mention all the help she gave to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (although I'm afflicted with adult onset). Plus, I love her performance on "The Dick Van Dyke Show and on her own TV show. She has helped so many people laugh and think about what they could accomplish. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Mary "turned the world on with her smile" and she "made it after all."
Keep covering Steve as I find every time someone uncovers information that wasn't covered before , it's like everyone is looking at the same diamond but different facets of the cut and reporting from that point .
She reminded me a lot of a younger Doris Day. ‘Girl next door’ and animal lover. Both had one son very young. They both had those megawatt smiles. Steve, will you be looking into where Doris is in Carmel, California? I think she was cremated.
Thanks Steve! 😊 I saw her grave on another channel not to long ago. Thank you for getting a close up of the statue so I could read that it says Love is all around. I'm watching on my phone! Thanks Steve! ❤️
Very nice of you to do this segment on Mary. I have a question if you ever get a chance to visit Dawson Georgia to visit Wayland Flowers gravesite the creator of Madame I remember Madame and her show. If you ever get a chance please. Thank you.
Thank you Steve for traveling to see and share all the gravesites of the MTM Show with us. I really like the idea of them combining the cemetery with aviary or arboretum or pollinator areas. I never thought of that but I really think it works out well because it brings life into the cemeteries.
MTM and I share the same birth date, although not the same year, as mine is almost 20 years later. Thank you for sharing her resting place and the other info, too. May God bless her and keep her safe in heaven, resting in His loving arms.
Boy Steve, you're a long way from home buddy! But asalways, thank you so much for bringing us all along with you to see places we may never get to see without you showing us. Thanks again! Eddie from Texas.

Thank you, Steve. Not sure if you're still in the area but the Ted Knight Memorial Bridge is in Pequabuck, CT. 1 hr away from Fairfield. 52 Canal St, Plymouth, Connecticut, 06786. Mary's gravesite looks beautiful during the summer. So peaceful! She loved NYC and CT so only fitting she is buried on the east coast. I love the M's placed at her grave site!
I do believe that she did live in the area along with her husband perhaps that woukd explain the location. It is a beautiful location. I have never seen it without snow on it. It is a beautiful spot thanks Steve
One of my secret pleasures as a child. I loved watching her on the tele. She was so beautiful and talented. And what an incredible smile. RIP MTM. You are always in my thoughts.
Nice! I’ve been there once before and plan on visiting soon. Did you stop and see Jason Robards grave? He’s in the same cemetery. There is also a famous opera singer there too.
Yes Steve, Mary was unforgettable! When she lived on California, she buried her family in Cslifornia. When her husband buried her, he buried her where he wanted them to be buried! I don't usually like Cemeteries but; this place is very nice! Love is all around Mary! ❤️ You're gonna make it after all! R.I.P MTM.. 🙏 🤲 🙏
That was a good video! Loved the apiary in the cemetery. Great idea....maybe more cemeteries should follow suit to help promote our bee population. Thanks Steve.
Thank you Steve for showing us where "our" Mary is buried. It's a beautiful cemetery, almost like a country park. I had the brief pleasure of seeing Mary years ago, in the strangest encounter. My ex and I were in Beverly Hills, and about to cross a street with the hand signal to cross... but just about the time we almost stepped off the curb, a 4 door green Jaguar stopped. I looked over and noticed a dark haired man at the wheel, and in the front passenger seat, was MARY!!! OMG, there she was looking right at us! She didn't look well, not sure what she was dealing with at the time? We crossed the street as the Jaguar continued on. I can still picture that moment. 😊
To be buried or not to be buried...that is the question! A little joke for you Steve! Mary was a great actress....RIP.....THank you for a great video as usual!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Mary "turned the world on with her smile" and she "made it after all."
Great video! She brought a lot of joy to people!
I have always been a fan of Mary Tyler Moore. Thank you for showing her beautiful gravesite!
She was always one of my favorites we never missed a episode ! I loved the end of the show with the meowing cat !! Thanks man i needed a smile today !
What a beautiful tribute may she rest in peace
Steve great video look forward to the next one take care
You're right, she was great. What a unique place! Thank you Steve.
MTM always seemed like a nice person. Great job like usual Steve!
awesome video yay!!!!
She was truly special and a very good dramatic actress as well. Her work in Robert Redford's " Ordinary People " was brilliant Thanks for sharing this Steve
Thank U Mare
Animal rights were her life.
@@gregwatson8219 Acting was her life and she said so, and that is often the case with successful actors.

Hello Maureen how are you doing today
One of my secret pleasures as a child. I loved watching her on the tele. She was so beautiful and talented. And what an incredible smile. RIP MTM. You are always in my thoughts.
Nice! I’ve been there once before and plan on visiting soon. Did you stop and see Jason Robards grave? He’s in the same cemetery. There is also a famous opera singer there too.
What a beautiful place to be laid to rest!!! I loved watching The Mary Tyler show too!!!!
Loved Mary Tyler Moore, She was so funny. One of my favorite actors passed away, I hope when he gets buried you will visit his grave James Caan.
Mary was a huge dog lover- she owned top winning show dogs- Dash, a golden retriever and many more!
R.I.P MTM.. 🙏 🤲 🙏
Hi Steve. Jayne Mansfield is in Pen Argyl Pa. well worth the visit!
Mary was an animal lover. If you had a green jaguar, there is cause for concern.
@@lostinmyspace4910 It was jealous.
Very nice presentation and thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing this Steve!
I absolutely loved and still love Mary Tyler Moore what a beautiful woman
To be buried or not to be buried...that is the question! A little joke for you Steve! Mary was a great actress....RIP.....THank you for a great video as usual!
