Since my family is from Konkan region, abhyang snan was followed, and my grandmom used to tell stories of narark chaturdashi, but had forgotten with time. Case 1:
Balipratipada (Bali-pratipadā), also called as Bali-Padyami, Padva, Virapratipada or Dyutapratipada, is the fourth day of Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. It is celebrated in honour of the notional return of the daitya-king Bali (Mahabali) to earth.
Case 2:
Onam is a Hindu festival celebrated in Kerala, India to commemorate the homecoming of the legendary King Mahabali and the Vamana avatar of Vishnu. It is a major harvest festival and the official festival of Kerala
Considering they fall on two separate days, this contradicts with the story of return of Mahabali.
Kindly throw some light on this please.
