Really appreciate this video. Needed a much sturdier kickstand than the one that came with my hybrid commuter bike and this one is perfect for the job.
I just bought a new Trek 29er, and Trek bikes don’t come stock with a kickstand or side stand, so I bought one online without looking if it would work on my new Trek…it doesn’t have the frame centre piece welded into frame like yours does. I thought of Jimmy rigging it on because the side stand is so nice. I ended up buying another nice one that goes around the frame itself with two Allen screws holding it in place. Maybe you could show us how to install that type of stand as well. Just a suggestion. Thanks much.
Where do I install this on my Trek Marlin 6? I dont have that thing on the bottom to install Edit: Buy the different kind of kickstand that wraps around the metal beside the rear wheel
I havent rode a bike in a while but one thing i remember is a POS kickstand that always got partially engaged at times when peddaling in the positions yours is in. I got my 4 year old an 18" bike for xmas but he doesnt need training wheels so I got the type of kickstand that mounts in place of a training wheel
Kickstands should be used with caution. If you clamp it to the tube of lighter weight nicer bikes, you could deform the tunes over time. I have also seen kickstand plates as the bike in the video has tear at the weld. The spring on them are super strong on some models. Don't ever sit on your bike with kickstand down
Guys how does one assemble kickstands back together? My noob self disassembled it accidentally and now I can't push the spring far enough to get the bolt through the actual stand part
I couldn't fit the knob in there to tight it up real good so it took me 30 minutes to tight it up as much as I could with other tools and then the other thing to make it longer took me an other 30 minutes to find a damn way to un screw it... xD

You may need a different style kickstand that mounts to the side of the frame.

If you do have the bracket can you still attach the plate thing?
If there's a provision on the bike for a kickstand you probably do not have to use the bracket.
