When I was still backpacking, a took a thermarest to sleep on, the extra weight was WELL worth the price of a good night's sleep, might be something you two want to consider in the future LOL! I'm so glad to see you bringing the next generation along to love & appreciate woodcraft and camping! You have been and continue to be an inspiration ma'am!

It is great to see you doing overnight bushcraft again. You teach us a lot. It is funny that all dogs love to roll over dead and decaying things because they believe it makes them smell better. Hi Vanessa. When using small branches for a pan support, try wrapping them in aluminium foil first. They’ll last a lot longer. Nice video. Keep up the good work.

I know I don't always comment but I do watch and I absolutely love your videos my friend 🙂 you gave me a true hunger with that banana treat you made lol, I can't eat it as I am allergic to fruit but I wasn't always allergic so I know that had to taste awesome 🙂 also I am happy to see you out and having fun and staying safe, storms can get really bad really quick so it's awesome you two were ok 🙂 I use yarrow while in the woods to brush my teeth with, I take pawpaw tree, make a brush and then crush up the yarrow and plantains(the weed) with the moisture from the pawpaw tree to make a paste which works well and doesn't taste bad lol the plantains weed is good too as it has an antiseptic and antimicrobial in it so mixing the 2, (yarrow) which has antibacterial properties and (plantains) makes for a perfect toothpaste as well as adding mint for extra flavoring. P.S. that was a sad story about the woman, I send best wishes to the family. Take care my friend! Again your vids are awesome!!!!!🙂

Sorry I'm so late in commenting. About your toothbrush. When I was a young man many years ago my great-grandmother taught me to use Birch twigs as a tooth brush. She would chew on the end until it became like bristles and then brush her teeth with that. It worked quite well. Great video as always. Try to get Lea to smile a little more. She looks like she's not always happy to be there. Her skills seem to be pretty good as far as bushcrafting goes. Young people learning bushcraft is a good and important thing. All my best. I’m sure you already know my method for cooking on an open fire but I use 3 large stones making a triangle big enough to set the pan on and keep the fire small or burned down to coals. Works good for me.

Yep .. a 'Keyhole' Fire also works well with Stones placed on each side of the Slot for the Pan with the Embers below.
