I was introduced to Bob Marley's music 38 years ago. I was in my teens. My mom had to drag me to the table to eat, hit me in the head with my books due to not studying, and threatened to take my stereo if I didn't stop holding my head as close as I could to the speaker to listen to Bob. Boy did I love his music.
Interesting as 'high yellow' in African American slang refers to light skinned black folks with a caucasian genetic background and Bob's father was, of course, white.@@DrummerJacob
Peeeeeter!!!!!!!! Him taught Bob music!!!! So people show respect for the legend that is truly Peter Tosh. Love Bob and Bunny too. But after Sir Peter. I just knighted him lol
As a white Canadian .... big up's to the Rasta Vibe, Jah Bless and peace be with you, as it is with Brother Marley. Has been embraced and will always be remembered. One Love.
Peter tosh decorates bobs voice beautifuly its a shame he broke away from the wailers but he was an excellent musician singer/songwriter in his own write.
So so good. An all-time favorite of mine! This performance is superb, and I also particularly worship the live recording of this song in Tokyo at Sun Plaza back in the late 70's. The guitar solo on that recording is wailin fo sho. I love the opportunity to see bob playin his chucka - chuck on the guitar in this vid too!
The year Bob died I was in Ndola doing Form 2. My Uncle had introduced me to his message in 1980 and it sounded a bit strange. This is 2024 and it still seems like yesterday.
The Wailing Wailers at their best outstanding lyrics and melodies and then some what a combination, sweet life must be somewhere to be found instead of concrete jungle what a great lyric and how true.
The I-Threes (Rita/Judy/Marcia) weren't even part of the band yet, but Tosh and Barney Wailer's backing vocals in this song were too bloody good... Awesome!! Love this track... my favorite beer song!
Bob knew how to take his opportunities towards the next level, he wanted to be big and he archieved it. If peter Tosh stayed in the group he may have been popular like Bob but who knows? Remmember, leaders are born and they will rise up no matter the situation they are in, Bob was a natural born leader and that is why he was the lead singer for the wailers ever since. You get me?
I cant really explain it in words, it says in the bible that men are created in God image, and I believe that all of us have God's characteristics but Bob Marley, he's one of those human being's that is just amazing, his music, what he sang about, what he stood for was just so amazing, I feel that God's image is really seen in him, I hope that makes more sense to you, God Bless
By far one of my Favorite Bob songs of all time Concrete Jungle among others but this song puts goosebumps all over my body when I sing it. King of Kings BoB Nesta Marley
ye hi fighted with the music,,,,,,,,and his words still are like today ...nowadays it is the same in everywhere ,,,,no peace ,,no food enough,,,no love,,,,like is written on the holy bible ,,,ITS EVERYTHING TRUE IN THIS LIFE
Bob Marley is a legend, the king of reggae, he don't need to come back as a hologram, that's foolishness, the real Bob Marley lives in our hearts and he will always living there!!! Jah Bless him!!
dis could be a beauty full ting. do not let d powers dat wanna be control jah name suceed. long war of mind for freedom. one love in da concrete jungle. mama eire alive
I love the simple under stated drumming you get in this music. It's just side cymbal and stick on the rim.The drum is tightened right up and only used to move from bit of song to bit
I agree with Ziggy, this man wasn't just a musician or legend, he was a prophet chosen by Jah to do Jah works which he accomplished in his short life span which lives on today
since i was born I thought the same thing ! Such special persona Was bob i don' t know how to explain it , you could see it in the way he moves and speak and from the way he stay on the stage!
The king of reggae, a phophet and musical messenger of god. Spreading the word about rastafarianism, love and unity and revolution. Was trodding on this earth for a place to rest his head. Now his head rests on the lap of god. He's an original one off. Never to be repeated. However, his children will keep his message alive. Something about them tells me he lives in each of them. Heard his son Julian Marley and heard Damian Marley talking at an interview. Melody Makers keep up good work.
no chains around my feet but im not free, meaning even though he is physically free, but spirtually is not. His songs are deep like roots. deep roots. treasure, pure gold folks. one love.
AHHHH,I cant stop playing this song,I think this is about the 377,878th time ive played this now,And for them haters i know when you listen to a song it only comes up as you've listend to it once but haters gonna hate but me im gonna love bob marley all day
I think that he sees himself In this here concrete jungle! He feels the music I'm sure.Never ever has there been another like the honorable Robert Nesta Marley!!!
OLD GREY WHISLE TEST,THIS IS 1972 I WAS STILL IN SCHOOL AND I REMEMBER BEING ON THE BUS GOING TO SCHOOL ,THE 220 BUS DRIVES DOWN FULHAM PALACE ROAD AND ON THE CORNER OF GREYHOUND ROAD AND FULHAM PALACE ROAD THE GREYHOUND PUB STOOD AND IN THE WINDOW THEY WAS ADVERTISING THAT THE WAILERS WAS PLAYING THERE IN CONCERT , IT FELT GOOD TO THIS AS A JAMAICAN AND A LOVER OF THE WAILERS AND REGGAE MUSIC ,WITHOUT ADOUT BOB MARLEY IS A PROPHET, BLESS
Amazing how peter is able to play the lead guitar and doing the back up vocals and bunny dances in complete submission to the rythm!

"The high yellow moon won't come out and play..." Whoever came up with those lyrics was ingenius!
Marley wrote this song, so Id assume Marley.

These are The Wailers, not just Bob and Peter, but Bob, Peter, and Bunny.
R.I.P Peter & Bob.

Bunny Wailer looks so cute playing his instrument in this video. All men are awesome here!
I was noticing that too about Bunny Wailer. These men were all on top of their craft.

Tosh died in 87, Bob in 81, just Bunny left from the original brotherhood from Trenchtown. Beautiful sounds from music legends
