It’s wonderful that you are able to do so much, you remind me of myself when I was younger, 78 now. I. See you pushing , pulling and lifting and worry about the possibility of back problems like me. Do be careful. I admit it’s a pleasure to watch you being self sufficient. Be safe
Yes! I agree. Be careful of that back. Nearly 70 and I've been disabled with chronic lower back/sciatic pain for 25yrs. I do little more than rest most days. It's taken a lot of Gods grace & patience for me to be so idle in the body. When I do push myself to do something that needs doing, I pay for it with the following week of bed rest. I still shed tears of pain and heaps of frustration, so please please be very careful of your back. That way of life isn't possible with constant pain from a back injury. I'm not speaking negativity over you , just be mindful of HOW you do the hard yakka, my friend. 🇦🇺🤗💞🙏✌️👍👊👏🇺🇲
Watched with such joy...so many women today are lost to the beauty of physical work, the joy of accomplishment, and the peaceful rest of days well spent. I am probably one of you oldest lady watchers..4 months turning 83. I found you when you began. I wait for each video. Thank you for what you give as I remember my "alone" times throughout my life in the NC mountains and Montana. Now in Florida digging a large garden... You are my friend❣️
I'm no expert, but I am also a single woman homesteading on my own for the last 10 years. Use your truck and tow hitch, rap a chain around anything you want to loosen up or pull into place. Go slow and steady, don't gun it or risk the wood flying back onto your truck. You could even pull the wood all the way to the front of your house. Especially as I'm getting older working smarter and not harder is at the top of my mind, getting injured is just not an option all the way out here. The things I could accomplish if I had a tractor! I love seeing you put in your garden, may it give you years of abundance. Every year I add another section to my garden, last year my watermelons, cantaloupe and sweet potato vines threatened to take over my whole garden so this year they are getting an area all their own with trellising. Joy!
Sweet precious Kenai loves the soft dirt instead of that old hard dirt.🥰Enjoyed all the gorgeous scenery. I'm going to enjoy watching your garden grow. Absolutely love your outtakes, you keep me laughing. Hugs and kisses to sweet Kenai. Take care and God Bless you and Kenai always

Have you thought about adding an arch made of chicken wire over your raised beds to keep out pests. Maybe Kenai would like his own small raised bed somewhere in the garden 😊!
I live in the Mat-Su Valley not terribly far from Alone. We had chicken wire around our young fruit trees this winter, and the shrews just went right through and ate the bark off the little trunks. We will be planting replacements, but it is hard to keep the rabbits and moose out, even though we have a fence and chicken wire around the plants. Before the snow falls again - which may not be THAT far away this year - we will have to wrap the trunks with something the shrews can't chew through. Thinking of the metalalized foil insulation. Just getting things planted ourselves. Growing in Alaska is TOUGH, especially when "summer" is short!
I just have to tell you how much of an inspiration you are! Your breadth of knowledge and work ethic coupled with your charming and adventurous personality is absolutely infectious! You are a joy to watch, and at least speaking for myself...feel like I know you like a good friend or teacher. Best of luck with the garden, and looking forward to many more videos!!!

Glad Kenai has a place to sit outside while being protected by that fence. I do worry about your back with all the pulling, pushing and lifting. Please be careful with your back. Believe me when I say my back reminds me every day of my back injury. 🤗💕
Good Morning Alone- what a video! So admirable, all that you, all by yourself, are able to accomplish! Your videos are so full of encouragement like that. You really got me for a second over going to use the hand saw on that big board rather then the power saw! HAha.. So wonderful that Kenai is accepting that he needs to wear the face netting to keep the mosquitoes away. I love that you're showing that you can take what you have on hand- from the garden, using an old piece from the kitchen, etc and re-use it. Til next time, love to you and Kenai
Good work Alone. Just a tip and suggestion.......a good pair of leather work gloves saves the hands and makes the timbers "seem" lighter than they actually weigh. One day at a time.
Another great video coming from you. I think everything looks good including the fence and the garden. 👍 Those scenery views and pictures of the moose were amazing. Glad Kenai can be outside so he can have a little fun and he didn't mind having that net on. Great job and be safe. 👍
I truly enjoyed watching you build and put in your garden. Kenai seemed to really enjoy it also.😊 I was out in my garden at 6:00 this morning. By 8:30 it it was 82 degrees with a feels like 91 degrees. In South Florida we have 4 seasons of Summer.🥵😂 Hope you have great success with your garden. Take care and God bless.😊👩🌾👍
Your doing what I couldn't, I live in the area and follow your channel. I haven't spent a winter yet up at my cabin, this year will be my first year. You have helped me feel confident that I can do it and be just fine, although I dont have an income but I work in the city, florist work and dog groomer. I never worry much about money. Maybe we will meet one day when me and the kid are down getting water. Stay safe and enjoy the summer months.
Fantastic garden/patio/dog run 👍. Nice to sit out side and relax without having to be So tuned into an. Unexpected bear arrival , keni. Will need a raised sand bed of his own 😂. You can literally. Potter around that raised bed Just outside your door . Well done a lot of hard work ! But such a result . I also love Hands in soil. 😀
I really love what you did there. What a lot of work, i would leave it there so you have a garden close to your kitchen for convenience with the things you use most. The only thing i would say is those rods could be dangerous if a bear climbs over, they are known to do that.😅. Maybe get some rebar caps? Just a thought 🤔
Just came back a few hours later to finish this video and I love the garden tutorial. I’ve always wanted to do a beautiful raised bed like that. I just love watching us. Thanks so much for providing this. Learning so much.
Thanks, Nannygoat! It is going to be a shame to have to tear this one done in a year, but it will get almost no sun once the awning goes up, and the woodshed gets extended. But these things a necessary so hopefully by then I have forgotten how much effort this took. 🤣💛
Do you have a dollar tree up there? We use those little pinwheels in our garden, reflective and vibration to scare away birds, moles, and rabbits. The last ones I bought look like flowers.
Our dog kennel panels have taken a beating over the years. Years ago, a deer wandered into the cage and panicked. It didn't just go back out the door opening. It freaked out and went between where the fencing connects to the bar. Will it be harder to take wood in during the winter? You'll have to walk around to the gate with the wood? In relation to the voles, moles and mice. I bought a rat black box and put two mouse traps and one rat trap in it. I leave it out by the wood pile or by the raised beds. I put a piece of dry corn in the traps and they usually die with their mouth around the bait. I use the black rat box so birds aren't tempted by the corn.
Hello Alone 😊I LOVED this video so much. I love long videos for starters but you got so much accomplished it’s amazing! I love watching you work on projects wether outside or inside. I will admit though, I have been waiting eagerly for the outdoor videos. Thanks for sharing! I hope Kenai enjoys his garden/run and that your garden grows and produces lots of food for you! Take care! Love to you and Kenai 💕
Great to see all the things you do, I’d love to come help out. I’m too far away. We love hard work too and always good when it’s done and you see your results, Brun & Jay
So funny. When I observed you moving that beam, I thought she looks like she's in competition for the Scottish Highland Games and Gathering. You just needed the bagpipers. Maybe you can cook up some hand held meat pies LOL! Blessings from Arizona🌵🌵
Guess you need to call in Dewey for this job. 😉 I´m using pallet walls for my raised garden beds, and I cut down those small trees, and indeed made a fence of everything from bushes to bigger trees, for the dogs to stay in the garden, and the deer to stay out. 😅
Hi Alone..I loved your 1st crop🐕..he was spread out perfectly!! You had a really hard day...I think you need a hot soak🛁 what a day!! My brother had a great garden and thr Squirrels loved the lettuce and cabbage... he had to chicken wire all cracks so they couldn't get in...🐿 Cute ...but little brats.....loved the wildlife as always ❤ See you soon Gal pal. Kathy Johnston 🌲🌲🌲🦋
Annie you are doing great work, keep it up, but don't overdo it. Like what you're carrying on your hip. When the potatoes, I'll be coming over to get some don't worry I'll be paying for them. Have a great week and I don't know if I'll catch you tonight or not. LOVES
Birds and grasshoppers will also eat your cabbage leaves. Try cutting them back a little and see if they come back. You may need to get netting. The dog run/pen is a great idea!
I'm sure you have lots of plans and much to do, but thought I would say I saw a woman paint her fence with Iron Ore colored paint and it virtually disappeared. She just used a roller and it turned out great. Your place is looking so nice and organized. Congratulations on your successes.
Hi Alone ✌️🥰 It’s so good to see you. I’m commenting as I’m watching. Great idea with the dog run fencing. We use ours as part of the chicken coop lol. Take care and God Bless😊
Such a good garden project. Work a lot of muscles and enjoy the reward of the fence and garden for a bit. Love seeing the project. Much success for your garden!
You may have to take sme of the old fencing out back and put along the front of your new garden bed to keep Kenai out until the vegetables all come in Just a thought. I think your garden will do great!
Its been a while since I've been able to watch your videos. Great job on removing the timbers to the new location and putting on the kennel. I sure you will have great success with your new garden plot. Thats what I've been working on here in Florida.
That will be nice to have a garden bed close to the house. What a lot of work. Wow looks good. Nice selection of sledge hammers and mallets. A couple of pry bars would be a good addition. 😅
Lady, you are truly amazing ! This was so fun. I love the longer video. You got so much accomplished Ty Alone for sharing your life with us. I love seeing all your projects. You are one tough lady.
Great work, be sure to watch for signs of pests getting into your garden and stop them. You will be surprised how fast pests can eat up a garden. Also, bears have also been known to go after gardens. They are omnivores.
Keep you a can of wasp n flying insect spray handy. I don’t know about there, but we have ground hornets here in the smokies of NC. I thought about that when you were tearing down the old raised bed. Im sure you get tired of people giving you advice ! Im really not… never know what someone might not have thought of or …
Wowsers…..your garden bed is awesome. You are such a trooper, I would of had 10 hissy fits and gave up five times….but would of carried on. You did a great job. Can’t wait to see your new stone, take care 🇨🇦🌷
Hi Sharon! Yes, I am excited to see how well this little garden planted late on the north side does. If it does well, then I have no doubt that the future garden will do even better. 🤗💛
I could watch hours of this. I appreciate you sharing the educational information as well as you move through your day's journey! And congratulations on your crop that has already bloomed...he's, I mean, it's adorable ❤
Really loved watching you with the garden!!! You absolutely amazed me at what you can get done all by yourself 😊 that was some back breaking work, can't wait to see the garden grow, and I loved seeing Kenia wearing a mosquito net❤❤
Me: I plant in a few cow water trough we had, one is strawberries, the other is tomatoes & peppers, next is zucchini & summer squash. So much easier for me and don't need much . Kudos for taking on your projects looking nice. Can't wait to see what's next. Hugs to Kenai and be blessed.😊🇺🇲
Miss alone you really won me over with the "i,ll get a bigger hammer" comment . Lmao!!! Your raised beds look good adding spruse duff might mean you need to add lime to your soil tho. Evergreen needles will make the soil acidic.blueberrys like acidic soil but not much else.you should set up a stock tank by the wood shed roof and put in drip irrigation with a timer.put the tank up on a stand to get some water pressure and to get a downhill run to your beds.i,ll take a pic of my 150 gallon stock tank and the stand it,s on and send it to your email.you can use the pic in a video if you want too.i can do a short video too to show how I have it plumbed up. Kenai is a very sweet puppy and cute..that spot should be his from now on. Be very careful with those timberloc screws there actual very hard and will throw slivers of metal and spring if hit and busted.you don,t wanta lose a eye.

Guess you need to call in Dewey for this job. 😉 I´m using pallet walls for my raised garden beds, and I cut down those small trees, and indeed made a fence of everything from bushes to bigger trees, for the dogs to stay in the garden, and the deer to stay out. 😅
O my world this is a hard job. Can't wait to see the veggies. You are a strong woman. Good luck
Hi Alone..I loved your 1st crop🐕..he was spread out perfectly!! You had a really hard day...I think you need a hot soak🛁 what a day!! My brother had a great garden and thr Squirrels loved the lettuce and cabbage... he had to chicken wire all cracks so they couldn't get in...🐿 Cute ...but little brats.....loved the wildlife as always ❤
See you soon
Gal pal. Kathy Johnston 🌲🌲🌲🦋
I admire your tenacity. I would have given up. Lol
Nice job getting the garden beds going.
Hi Debbie! If I ever do get poultry, I might do the same thing. I think that is a great idea! 🤗💛
Girl, you make me tired just watching you!!!! Great job ,Kennebec potatoes are great for storage
I love your raised beds and dog run. Great idea 👍
Such a good garden project. Work a lot of muscles and enjoy the reward of the fence and garden for a bit. Love seeing the project. Much success for your garden!
You may have to take sme of the old fencing out back and put along the front of your new garden bed to keep Kenai out until the vegetables all come in
Just a thought. I think your garden will do great!
So much hard work I hope the garden grows well for you 💚🙏🏼
Don't give yourself a time line. Just get it Done before dedication the Best way you can. I know it's a LOT of labor.
Good job 👍
Its been a while since I've been able to watch your videos. Great job on removing the timbers to the new location and putting on the kennel. I sure you will have great success with your new garden plot. Thats what I've been working on here in Florida.
Potatoes dubbing great!!!!
I am amazed at all of your talents and ability to keep on going.
Great work, be sure to watch for signs of pests getting into your garden and stop them. You will be surprised how fast pests can eat up a garden. Also, bears have also been known to go after gardens. They are omnivores.
That’s some beautiful cottage! Love the swans. Always great to see a video from you!
Keep you a can of wasp n flying insect spray handy. I don’t know about there, but we have ground hornets here in the smokies of NC. I thought about that when you were tearing down the old raised bed. Im sure you get tired of people giving you advice ! Im really not… never know what someone might not have thought of or …
I love to see someone plant a garden!
Shared on all my social Media sites....glad to see the snow has left.
Wowsers…..your garden bed is awesome. You are such a trooper, I would of had 10 hissy fits and gave up five times….but would of carried on. You did a great job. Can’t wait to see your new stone, take care 🇨🇦🌷
Looking forward to seeing what you harvest.
You absolutely amazed me at what you can get done all by yourself 😊 that was some back breaking work, can't wait to see the garden grow, and I loved seeing Kenia wearing a mosquito net❤❤
this is an amazing area close to cabin to watch all your food sources grow without the moose and bears eating it all.
Raised bed looking good. Nice you were able to reuse the timbers. I bet your potatoes do well.
I think that turned out a nice little garden bed .....got to love that black garden plant lol
❤️🐾❤️ Kenai! We use cayenne pepper to keep critters out of our garden, does NOT bother the plants…..
Fantastic job getting the garden bed moved and Kenai enclosure built.
Hey you are beautiful and love your TH-cam video
Please keep going with you TH-cam videos 👍👍
nice job. Kenia was a big help.ha ha.that should keep the critters out
Your videos always put a smile on my face. Yeah that I found your channel ❤
I admire your hard work and ingenuity. I've been watching from the beginning - I hope it works out for you!
Kenai’s head gear! Best! 🤗
That was a lot of work! But now you have a close garden which is handy😊
Impressive!! Well done...🌺🌼🌺
Im loving the garden! man those potato roots were crazy !
