Leaving aside the fact that the jbl go doesn't have much bass, if you turn up the volume there is no bass left - literally a bright treble, in other words worse than the speaker on my phone. I've tested it live. JBL Go are garbage. I don't know about the Clip series - but the difference is probably not big with the Go series.
Thanks for the video. I bought the orange Sony yesterday. Before purchasing here in Australia, the store had a 15% off speakers. I noticed that the previous model was right beside the new XB100 at AUD 69. I saw that the new ones were sticker priced the same. I asked a staff there if they're both priced the same. She said it was a mistake and it should've been $84 for the current model. She kindly sold it to me for $69. Yay! That's 46 USD. Awesome, and great sound. Cheers

I had the same issue with the clip 4.. it used to be my go to when I go for outdoor activities and had it for couple of years but the rubber strips are just bad quality.. just bought the xb100 yesterday and been testing it since last night comparing it with my jbl clip 4 and the xb100 is on another level. I was surpeised given the fact that the best portable speaker for me was the clip 4 and now it is not.😆
I went to best buy today to try these speakers out, and the Sony even sounded better than the Jbl flip 5 which was what i originally intended to buy. The funny thing is the little Sony XB100 sounds better than the Sony SRS-XE200 which was my second choice. I'll be buying the XB100 in a couple days when I get paid.
I have a Raleigh bag on my bikes handlebars with a spot on top to attach carabiners/clips and the Clip4 hooks on and sits there like it was all designed to be that way. It's a perfect cruising speaker for long rides.

I've had various JBL speakers and they all had a battery issue. Extreme, Flip, 9.1 soundbar. They tend to fail after a couple of years or so. JBL cheaps out on the battery cells they use. There is a reason you can find so many JBL speaker replacement batteries online. Moving to all Sony products now and all worked great and no issues. Just go the XB100. Great sound for the size. Sony FTW. JBL's are great sounding...when their batteries last.
@@dariusbozanbozan8043 I've had to replace batteries on 2x JB Xteme 1, 1x Flip, and one of my rear speakers on my JBL 9.1 system don't hold a charge so I have to keep it plugged in. The 1st JBL they refurbed as it was under warranty but battery died a few months in and I just replaced it. All items purchased new at store. Don't get me wrong, their sound quality is great but I've had horrible run with them for some reason.
I have a 6 year old Sony srs xb 40 which im using daily and still doing great on battery and sound. I only hope it will work like that forever 💪 Sony FTW!
Out of all the JBL go 3 videos. I haven't seen anybody recognize that the back pad on the device itself is slick because it's not meant to grip surfaces like tables or floors. It's meant to be put in the sand and the back of that since it's not grippy vibrates the sand in a way that it releases a pattern. I seen this on a infomercial for the JBL go 3. I think it was for India
That's what happened with the JBL charge 4 got beat by the sony xb33 then came back with the charge 5 so I hope they do the same thing for theses speakers

I recently bought the jbl flip 4 and I hated almost everything about it. Sound is hawful, especially for TH-cam (voices really muffled), jbl logo is way to big and wierd form factor. Exchanged it for a xb100 and it's so much better in every way and finally a speaker that have clear voices while still be really good for music too.
I tried the xb100, I already have the clip 4 and had a go 3 but sent it back, the volume on the sony is a bit limited and I found it was a bit dull sounding. I wanted to like the sony as it looks great and a nice package but just not for me.
I liked the jbl3 a lot but sadly the speaker died in just 15 days . And the company refused to fulfill warranty ...I am out ,never buying a jbl again . I handled it like a baby and one fine day the power button stopped working !

It's true that the Sony sound is typical of Sony big speakers because the sound doesn't change even though the place is small... different from the JBL Go 3 ,JBL clip 4, the sound is like a small speaker following the small place
Totally agree with you…listened on XB100…love XE200…hear a little bit from the top and bottom cloth sections nearby passive radiators…not a booming 360°…not too quiet now…was before software update to 4000.
I own the go3 and the clip 4. The go3 is superior to the clip4 for the simple fact that you can stand it upright, if you don't plan on clipping the clip4 to anything, it's useless. The clip4 sounds amazing only when it faces you, any other time it sounds terrible. To me, they both sound exactly the same as well. I was honestly disappointed with the clip4, the only place I can use it and get good sound is when it's clipped to my shower caddy.
I like JBL for its connect integration and I like the look of them more. I'll wait to see what jbl comes out with next but dang I love the sound of the Sony. They always have made good products.

I've had the JBL Clip 4 for over a year now and decided to try out the Sony XB100 yesterday because I like that strap. It arrived from Amazon this morning and will be going back tonight. The Clip 4 is WAAAY louder. Maybe I got a lemon but the Clip 4 is really still doing a great job. It still costs more than the newer Sony and it sounds like it.

I’m here because a guy brought the Go 3 to work as we did a bathroom demo and I was extremely impressed wit how good it sounded sitting up on the ledge of a windowsill. I’m new to all of these speakers and I’m definitely no “fanboy” at 60 years of age. It’s also the best choice if someone wants to put it on their desk at work. In that environment you don’t want to direct the sound up and all over. With the Go 3 you can have control and can aim it at you and not spray the whole office with sound. Rock on, everyone 🎼🎶🎼

JBL Clip 4 is more clean and natural sounding and also significantly louder . While Sony has more bass and little bit quieter. I usually take my speakers outdoors so I bought clip 4 and its loud, bass is enough for its size since i cannot expect deep bass from these small speakers.
I tend to agree with you and I like my Clip when on the move outdoors. I'd still opt for my pair of the Sonys for stationary outdoor use. For moving around though, it's JBL all the way. The combination of an upward firing driver/diffuser set-up as well as stereo pairing and hands-free and the possibility to use voice control is enough to make the Sony a very attractive option.
So im listening to this on my GO 3 and the sony sounds better....but if my Go3 makes the sony sound BETTER, why would i buy the sony, since the Go 3 is repoducing the improved sound??? I men that doesn't make sense!
the go and the clip from jbl are not as impressive as other small speakers sure, hopefully we see some improvments soon, but thats the only counterpart sony made something batter lol. saying "jbl fanboys", while youre being a sony fanboy, at least can rely on the fact that any of the bigger jbl's completely destroy any other sony. all the XG-XP-XE series speakers are a fail, also the XV ones are totally losing to jbl's partyboxes, even the biggest XV900 has less bass than the partybox 310 which is twice as small. so its not really a fanboysm, its more of a quality and good performance fans. if you like the name "sony" and it fits your playstation or tv logo, sure but thats real fanboysm.

My experience with JBL is their rubber materials are of inferior quality and disinterested over time. Not only that but the speaker material also torn and making cracking sound.
