I have a '96 T'Bird in a mild cafe style and I have made a few of the same mods to mine. The original brakes were atrocious weren't they? Another thing I did was to ditch the 16" rear rim and have the hub laced up to an 17" which gives a better choice of tyre sizes and looks much lighter, less cruiser. I put flatish bars on it, not clip-ons which still give good leverage so it doesn't feel that heavy to steer.
There is only a limited market of custom bits for this model unfortunately. The rear mudguard was cut right down to bare minimal but still provides enough protection to keep the muck out!
Good video and nice review. I think your fuel consumption might be a tad abnormal. It should be getting about 40mpg or more. Maybe a result of the tuning?
Most cafe racer builds never look quite right but this is fantastic! I can’t believe you bought it in a box in bits! Nice job.
purchased one in 1995, rode it til 2001 & used to smoke sportsters with it all day.
cool bike -
I just got one myself. I don't find it heavy at all (my other bike is a vtx 1800 though!) I can't wait to put some miles on it
Under the radar for most, I reckon - busy thinking about a Thruxton/ Bonnie perhaps? The true Hinkley Rocker bike, possibly - Underdog.

Beautiful machine. Outstanding build brother. Found you gents on Insta. The cafe racer style for this is such a good look.
Will pass that on thank you! Yeah we love the cafe style look 👌🏻
@@steepriderz9003 Is there a good source of custom bits for these? Did you replace the rear mudguard for example? Great looking bike, well done.
