Astonishing iron play from Sharky. The sound of those pure strikes was beautiful and most finished next to the pin. No wonder he was in awe of himself! The top players now are amazing but when I look at Norman and Faldo playing the same course as this year's Open to -13 and -11 with the old less powerful clubs, I think they were better.
@@chevy4x466 Aside from majors he won a hell of a lot. Was number one in the world for a long long time. Did win two majors. The majors he lost were in many cases horrendous luck. He also torched some great opportunities but that’s just the nature of golf. He might not rank with Tiger and Jack but still a fantastic career. Shame that so many nobodies think they have cause to be so critical of a great player.
@@tiborsol7959 he was the number one ranked player for 5 years. Pretty amazing. He was physically amazing. Seemed like every time some tour veteran would have the week of their career, and Greg would stop hitting good shots on Sunday. It was weird.
I’m a huge fan but he put his foot in his mouth a few times. I remember decades ago he blocked his tee shot way to the right third round at Doral. He hit an incredible recovery over the trees and made par. He won but after that round when asked about that recovery shot he claimed “If there’s one thing I can do it’s hit the ball high. I can hit it over the moon if I wanted”……,,
To think the majority of them were still hitting persimmon woods!! A couple of years after this no one was hitting wooden woods any more!! I was a big Norman fan back then!!
All of those players were at the peak of their game. Norman was just more in the zone than they were and when the Shark was in the zone there was no stopping him
I don't know why Corey Pavin isn't praised in the same breath as Faldo and Langer etc.; played excellently in the Ryder Cup and looking back had spells of pure class. Greetings from the UK
Pavin was a really solid player but he's clearly not in the same class of player as Faldo, Norman etc. Norman could've easily won 6 majors - heartbreakers in the '86 & '93 PGA Championship and '87 & '96 Masters.
What a great win to the great white, but how embarrassing to see the inept finger painting of Ken Done on world wide display on Greg's apparel. Sold gazillions worth I know, but Leonardo Da Vinci it isn't.

He certainly was in awe of himself! hahaha
“I was in complete awe of myself”- Greg Norman. Great line Shark. Never one to sell himself short ! 🤣
For such a dominant player, Greg typically only won when everyone got out of his way. He had to be psychologically convinced that he would win

@@uddielad No mind or intellectual facilities, which is why he choked so many times and why he now believes money is more important than the game
Norman was like The Ric Flair of golf he had so much swag lol

Played it once from Australia, what a tough course. Played Princes the next day...All 3 9’s
Great sportsmanship among these players. Love it!
Thank you so much for uploading this film

most of the time he was not in the zone
I recently learned that in 93, 94, 95, 96 final rounds at Augusta Norman shot 77, 77, 68, 78.
Make of that what thou wilt.
Crazy stat. 96 was the shocker for me. Greg dominated the course that year. I couldnt believe he gave that one up.
Oooooh, I had no idea that Paul Lawrie actually had another deep run at The Open prior to his triumph at Carnoustie.
Faldos swing in 93 was just perfection....glad Norman won thou
Gorgeous. Theres no wasted movement.
5:59 norman has a shot of a birdie 3 to put him at least a 3 way tie for the lead with the duo 441 Yards behind both him and Langer
guy zipping his fly before Norman's first tee shot at 3:15 lol
It wasn't his fly, that was his pants' side pocket.
Faldo played good enough to win, but Norman was on fire in that final round!
1 major after this but never again the favorite to win, still 8:31 world class.
Yes 93 was Faldo's last year as the world's dominant player. He lost his way a little from 94 (96 Masters an exception).

28:30 out the 6 amateurs that make it to Royal St George's Iain Pyman was the _only_ amateur to make the cut
BBM
Greg. Still the man
8 of the top 10 players in the world right there in contention…the final groups….Norman goes out at wallops all of them ….that means something
23:03 and he was not the only one who missed the cut
A change of putter for Greg from what he used in the eighties
This one was inspired by the 1992 summer olympic games film entitled maraton
3:16 What’s in the bag Greg ?

The famous choker came good this time
26:11 Meanwhile back at the 72nd hole

What’s the deal with the sound quality? Narrator’s voice is way turned down.
My god thank you. I needed validation cause I couldn't hear shit.
Great documentary… just don’t listen to it with headphones on!
Shame on the R&A for not inviting Norman to the Champions' Dinner. They'll probably take this video down soon enough!
He doesnt derserve to be there.
@@ollye4786 exactly, both because he was a bimbo and because he wants to destroy its legacy
Greg's hairline evolving from '86 at Turnberry. Now he always wears a cap.
third leg greg. xXx.
"Well, because i won this twice, im nominating the british open as the greatest major of all... and the only 1 worth winning".😅😂🤣
not so great dull grey and not wanted,
