From what I know, the LEGO patent has expired and now other companies can produce official merch with some of the media franchises LEGO has collaborated with in the past (if they manage to get the license). For example, I was in a toy store and I've seen various car sets which were not LEGO, of similar or higher quality than the ones from LEGO. In particular I remember there were officially licensed Ferrari and Audi sets, with bigger scales than the LEGO ones for a cheaper price.
I for example think, a slightly bigger figure with knee and elbow articulation could work wonders to dethrone the minifig. Basically just imagine a minifig leg as only the shin, with the upper leg beeing what you connect the minifig leg to instead of a hip joint. Something similar would also be possible for the arms, tho they would obviously need to be fully new molds. This would also give the new minifig some more human like proportions, as well as adding new possibilities for posing and customization.
I love the mini figs, best turtle ones by far, and I think they differentiate from Lego enuff with the curved feet and different waist system looks like, but my god it’s so perfect how the heads look exactly like the cartoon and Archie comics 🤯🔥
For the patent reason yeah, they differ enough, otherwise lego would have sued them long ago xD. On the other hand I think for many building brick fans it is way to similar to the minifig. I at least feel like that. Whenever I see a competetors minifigs, they just feel uncanny, because they look like they desperately try beeing a minifig but just dont manage. And thats not far from the truth. But since the minifig is that iconic every little difference is very visible to fans and just makes them look like cheap copies, even tho they arent trying to copy lego outright. I think it would probably be a lot better, to go for a differently scaled figure, so it just doesnt look like its trying to compete with the minifig, cos thats a battle you just cant win, cps the minifig is just too established at this point.
@ well regardless they got the heads PERFECT on these, n I would take them over the lego heads any day, like they literally made it exactly like classic cartoon animation, but size of minifig head I really love them, wasn’t really fan of lego’s heads, or turtle stuff in general, but I would buy these just cause of those minifig heads lol
I keep checking my local Five Below, but they still won’t carry the Raphael set. I bought the other three, but it’s been a few months now and no Raphael sets.
I actually like the snap and switch TMNT sets. I bought them at Five Below (which I like to go many times over) and it truly was worth it. Now I’m on the hunt for the Cheapskate set, because Raphael is the last Ninja Turtle I need left!
Don't feel too bad, the first S&S set I saw was Rugrats at a dollar store and they looked bad Eg. too many large one-piece bricks. However looking at your video they seem to have improved a lot quickly. No modern JoJo, that would scare the children lol.😄 I like what I'm seeing with TMNT, Spongebob, Gloomy Bear, and Starwberry Shortcake. I see they have candy bar sets, I'd like to see them try other foods and plants since they appeal to a wide demographic. Funny I was just thinking about mini-modulars as a way for cheap brick brands to make larger sets easily. Frankly I like small from such companies, better to get less at decent quality than more at worse quality Eg. Best Lock. Only thing I don't like is cardboard backdrops, a thin semiflexible plastic sheet is better for play use longevity Ie. time has told with all cardboard toy elements.
I think snap and switch toy should get the rights to Nickelodeon loud house it a very popular show with me and it could help them get there names into more stores
Well it is true they are copying Lego's Minifigures, it's obvious by how does Minifigures are that they're only using the Minifigures as a blueprint to develop their own snap figure, it will take a long time because the minifigure is so iconic, but I am fully convinced that they will find a way ☺️
I agree about minifigure innovation being just terrible in the brick scene, including Lego. They have a lineage of connectors and accessories to draw forth a far superior brick figure than even Lego yet continue to fail with imitations Ie. OCD Lego fans don't buy similar figures so make a better one.🤔

GREAT MY BRICK OPINIONS BRICK TMNT FAILURE.
no
How can it be a knockoff if it’s a fully licensed line?

Its knocking off lego not the ninja turtles

Great video. Personally I think there's a charm to non lego brick buildings sets/brands.

@@BrickBuildersMD hell yeah, the heads are so perfect, cartoony. I love them way more than the spongebob heads
It annoys me that the sewer lair set is the only way to get Mikey's nunchucks at the moment.

I would love to have a lego pink panther/animaniacs/tiny toon adventures theme soon!
I’ll have to check these out.
My five below only had raph and mikey, which i have, but i need donnie and leo.

We had the mega blocks Tmnt
I got a different knock off one like those but their quality and color is so much better than those. I got them off ali express
Ali express has THE best knockoffs
You should check out Brickcraft

sickbricks next!
Not sure, I’m still waiting for some sick bricks sets to come in, think maybe early February, my next video is already written.
