Hi friends! Hope you liked the video of me conquering the wallpaper 😅 I forgot to make an outro and just wanted to mention here that my daughter loved the room and has already added her own little touches. Btw most their toys are in the playroom next to the livingroom and she doesn’t spend a lot of time in her room yet but it will be fun to see how the dynamics change as the kids get older. For now this works really well for us 🤍
You did a lovely job with the wallpaper. One way you can line up the first piece is to put a string against the wall, the same distance from the corner as the panel is wide (for example, if the panel is 60cm wide, that is where you hammer a small nail with a loop of string. On the bottom, you hang something a little heavy from the bottom, giving you a straight line from the ceiling to the floor (in America, we call it a "plumb bob").
So lovely! Wonderful colour palette. To create a gallery wall, cut out paper the sizes of your frames and play mock up with them. So you can rearrange the "frames" until you like it and then place the real ones...
Oooh Lærke, you are such a great inspiration! Love how you decorated your daughter's room and this combo of new and renewed! Wishing your daughter millions of magical and joyful moments in her room!
What a special room you created for your daughter! The artist in you shows in everything you do. What fun you must have had planning and finding all the things. Thank you so much for sharing ❤
There is a Dutch family with a TH-cam channel. They have a children’s wallpaper company, but have moved the entire family to the countryside of France. I wonder if it is the same family. That would be funny. Great job!💗💗
I totally understand this nervousness because I also get attacks of sweating when I do a work that has to be perfect. 🙂 But you did so very well! It's really nice.
You did well to tackle wallpapering single handedly, I’ve wallpapered many rooms over the years but usually there’s two of us. I adore your choice of wallpaper btw, it’s really beautiful. I also love the neutral colour scheme. Well done you! ❤Angela
I love your wall mural and you did such a great job! 😍 I completely understand your nervousness. I would like to do a wallpaper mural in my front room and can’t even decide which one I like! 😅
I literally gasped when the hanging lamp turned on at the very end when everything came together 😅 it’s so lovely. I just moved to a new house in September (the first house we’ve owned also) so am loving following along. I’m slowwwwwwly designing my daughters’ room so this was great inspiration. I love wallpaper so much although it wouldn’t work for us in our rustic log house.
Oh thank you so much for your kind words 🥰 I often watch youtube videos and i feel like people make it look like a quick process to do a room makeover. But for me it takes time and careful planning. I like to get to know the room and make plans slowly to hopefully love it for a long time to come. I thought others would enjoy the slower process too 🤍 so i’m happy to hear that you did.
Such a beautiful room, you did so well hanging the mural and I love the painted furniture too. I’v sent the video to my daughter to see if she will consider getting a mural for her baby who is due in February ❤️
Amazing!!! You are such a superwoman to put up a wallpaper just by yourself! It is definitely a two persons work. I used to put up a wallpaper with my mom since I was 7 years old, so this work is quite nostalgic for me :) We used to put the glue to the wallpaper and not to the wall and spreading glue was my work. Also staighten the walllpaper while my mom was holding it close to the ceiling. She was quite patient with me :D Your daughters room turned up so dreamy and calm! Love your house journal episodes so much!!!
what a lovely memory! Once you get the hang of it it is very satisfying 🤍 I wish i had that kind of patience but knowing myself i knew that doing it alone was better 😆🙈
Absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing. On a funny side note, i had to do a double take when you held up the pot as my name is Fiona. 😂 I thought I was seeing things.
Of course it s tasteful and beautiful, dreamy, playfull, grounding, brings natural and cosynes in, is protective etc. and all these things. But, why can a room of a child not be more about "the strong opinions" of the child itself? More dynamic and with space for creativity and experiments of the child? Instead of perfections, harmony-taste and design-plans of an adult? Phu.
Well i actually mentioned it in the video that i wanted to give her a nice calm base she can make her own. Meaning she get’s to take over now and decorate as she pleases. I have been making the decisions with her all the time and she is very happy about it. Also i would like to mention that they have a playroom so this space is more for sleeping and getting dressed than playing. I mentioned her stong opinions because she will let me know of there is anything she doesnt like 😅 so i was a bit nervous if she would like it.
Ok, now i am a little released. An extra playing room makes more realistic and possible that she can create and experiment and feel free to mess up and find her own ways for her needs and expression. For sleeping and getting dressed I totally get the vibe! I was not allowed to tale over my space and that was not for my goods. I grew up with a great sense of design and art and harmonious creations ( which I appreciate ) -but missed freedom and privacy and autonomy in my own room so I am glad if you give this to your daughter too :) Thanx for answering
Most children choose bright colours, if you let them. Did your daughter want to have everything beige? I find this quite depressing. Is the idea for her to colour the wallpaper herself? I hope so.
If you read the pinned comment you would know my kids have a playroom. This is her bedroom for sleeping so yes her evil beige mom wanted it to be calm and not have a space with sensory overload. She has so many colorful toys/clothes it can get very overwhelming if the room is also very colorful. But i’m sure you raised your kids the way you think is best, just like i do 🤍

If she doesn’t like it for some odd reason, may I please move in? 😉
