A lot of this movie didn't age great, but the line where Forrest asks "Is he smart or..." is one of the most heartbreaking and informative lines ever delivered. "... or is he like me?" was the implied follow up, and I'm not crying, you're crying.
I am totally amazed at how judgemental these reactors are about Jenny. Can't they see that she is the most tragic and f*cked up character in the whole movie. She was sexually abused by her father and had ZERO self-esteem. The point of the whole movie was that a challenged person was in some ways protected from life's slings and arrows with his innocence and purity.
It's something that really irks me. She was sexually abused, and like so many people who have that happen to them (even nowadays), she turned to drugs and abusive relationships. At the time, there was no such thing as rehab, or therapy - in the 60s-70s, 'therapy' was only available if you were rich, and it mostly consisted of doctors pumping you so full of valium that you were a vegetable, and mental asylums abused patients with barbaric 'treatments' that made their problems worse, and they usually died there. The fact that she was able to get sober and pull herself together at all, considering her circumstances, was a miracle. And of course the prevailing attitude so many seem to have that Jenny being with anyone else was an offense. And that Forrest 'deserved' to have her, because he wanted her, by virtue of him being kind and generous. Forrest was, as a character, an incredibly kind person, but no one is entitled to love and sex because of how kind they are.
Everyone always gets annoyed with Jenny for not telling Forrest about his son. Apparently everyone forgot that right after Jenny left the last time, Forrest went on a little jog. A jog that would go on for over 3 years. During that time, Forrest wasn't exactly accessible. Now there was still a good few years after he was done running, but by that time, Jenny had worked on getting her life back, and raising little Forrest, and she got into a routine. And sure, Jenny didn't send Forrest a letter until she was diagnosed with AIDS, and that was kind of shitty. But no one ever accused Jenny of being a perfect angel. She had her issues..... really big issues.
I can not believe how so many of these people who watched the entire movie did not realize that Forrest had been running across the U.S. for over 3 years after Forrest Jr. was conceived and born. In the 1970's and early 80's there were no cell phones and internet. If you want to be a "reactor" to movies learn at least a bit of the history that was going on during the time period of the movie. Every time I hear someone say "didn't Jenny think Forrest might want to know he had a son"...but no one ever says anything about Jenny cleaning up her act, having a baby and raising him by herself while keeping a scrapbook about Forrest to share with her son about his father...then notifying Forrest that she wanted to meet her when she found out he was done running...Read between the Lines that are laid out in this film. It fits with the reality that existed during that time period.
Good job with the compilation. Nearly all the ladies watching criticised Jenny for keeping such big news to herself....but he was running....how could she?
He was running because he was heartbroken… I mean she did come into his house, tell him she loved him, gave him some of that good stuff then snuck out in the early hours, she knew she did him dirty… hence the apology.
Also she wouldn't mature emotionally overnight. Discovering that she is pregnant would have gotten her to start getting clean if not already and stay clean. Also beginning to straighten up her life to take care of her future child would take time and effort. By the time she got her life in order to get her mind better, he had been running for a year or longer. During that time, trying to find him and contact him would be difficult while providing for her son especially since that was time before cell phones.
Well yeah, but he still cares. Just because disabled people are still people like everyone else doesn't mean disabled parents want their kids to struggle the same way. Why would a blind person want their kid to be blind just so they're the same? That's not so different here.
As someone who has autism and used to be not so smart, and was ridiculed on a daily basis for it… if I found out I had a long lost child, that would be my first concern too.
@@sub-zero710 Yeah, that sounds tough Fortunately for me my IQ is just fine even tho i'm Autistic too but that still doesn't make me any less difficult to get to learn anything that i don't have an interest in
It still amazes how grossly misunderstood Jenny's character is to this day. Jenny was an extremely damaged and broken woman. The abuse she endured in her early years caused her immense self hatred and a belief she was unworthy of love. This type of trauma can cause severe psychological effects on people, which explains her behavior the entire film. When she ran into Forrest, she realized he was the first person to really care about her in a way she had never experienced. To any of us, this seems great, but Jenny also knew that Forrest was very innocent due to his deficiency, and the whole movie, was not only trying protect him from herself, but she also did not think she was worthy of him. She did love him, but due to her own trauma, she didn't believe she was worth being loved by him. She never intended to take advantage of him. A lot of people seem to think she only wanted him for his money, but Forrest became rich fairly early in the film. She could have stayed with him then if she really wanted only money. As for this scene, a lot of people forget that Forrest had been running for 3 years straight across the US. From the moment Forrest Jr was born, there would have been no way she could have contacted him due to his constant movement. She was not looking for him to take care of her son, but honestly wanted him to know his own son before she passed away. She already knew she had little time left. Jenny was NOT the bad guy.
Yes, she was the bad guy. She was broken because of her childhood, but she was still the bad guy. Would she have written him and got together if she didn't get the ICK and was dying?
I disagree. Would it change your mind if that kid isn't even Forrest's? I'm sure that one night stand isn't the only opportunity for conception in that time frame. Perhaps she knew she was dying and knew he had money and that he would be there no matter what. She was running her entire life until running was not an option.
@HumorousLOL She was horrible to Forrest. I get she was a victim when she was younger, but it doesn't give you a free pass to be a horrible person as an adult. She only wrote to him because she was dying/sick and wanted him to take care of her and her son. That doesn't mean I don't feel bad for her.
Makes me wish Forrest realized that he isn't stupid, he's just very simple. He's done many things even intelligent people couldn't do. He graduated school. He disassembled and reassembled his rifle faster than anyone else because he was "told to." He built a shrimping business. He's extremely good at focusing on certain tasks and completing them. He's just a little socially awkward, but that doesn't mean he's dumb. There's a HUGE difference between being simple and being stupid. I've worked in retail for many years, and there are plenty of people more "stupid" than Forrest is. He's had that idea in his head his whole life, and it's really sad.
**sigh** Okay, one more time.... Forrest was gone for over THREE YEARS. There were NO CELL PHONES. There was NO INTERNET. She had NO WAY to contact him except to write a letter, which she did, and Forrest got it when he got home. STOP bashing Jenny for "not telling him." 🙄
Exactly, it annoys the hell out of me, when the first reaction, is why didn't she tell him, or whatever. Man did you not watch the previous 10 minutes or so of the movie.
Jenny saw Forrest running for 3 yrs (she kept up w/him w/the scrapbook), and she understood, as she had hurt him when she told him she wouldn't marry him, bc she had run from the hurt for so long...and when Forrest stopped running, she wrote him a letter...and here we are. Ppl always hating on Jenny, smh.
IMHO The incredibly magical, beautiful, and life-changing moment of seeing your child for the first time is the most perfect human moment one can experience.
I'll always love this one. Truly one of the finest movies I've ever seen. It's so weak and lame when critics downgrade movies because they make them 'feel' too much. Far too many of those ppl come off like emotionally sterile intellectuals. It also disappoints me just how so many women watch the movie and have little if any empathy or compassion for Jenny after the heinous experiences she had as a little girl. She and Forrest both had to start off with the odds way against them.
+sime8873ify The actual creator of the video. He has to have his face in the video(s), because TH-cam will copyright his content and say he "stole content" from the reactors (when that's not the case).
"Is he smart or is he....?" That's the part that gets me. As dimwitted as Forrest may be, he's still smart enough to know how he is. And as if that weren't enough, he's so scared of passing it on that he can't even bring himself to finish the question.
Younger people never realize it's the 80s it wasn't easy getting in contact with people especially if they were running across north America for almost 4 years
Forrest Gump is a fantastic movie, Tom Hanks deserved his Oscar for the part, and the music was fantastic too. I have seen this movie so many times, I have lost count, and cried so many tears over it, and still do, whenever I watch it. Especially at this part.
The reason why I don't hate Jennay is because she was protecting Forest from herself. She knew she wasn't good enough mentally to be with someone as good and pure as him. She had too much baggage that was destroyed the day her son was born. She finally had an opportunity to be the parent she never had and then came down with cancer. She turned to the only good person in her life who just so happened to be the boys father. A man is who simple enough to understand right from wrong on the most basic and necessary of levels. This movie is pure gold.
'Why didn't she tell him?' because she literally couldn't. Cell phones didn't exist, she literally had no idea where he was. As soon as he stopped running and she knew he had, she sent him a letter. C'mon people.
The first and only time Forrest refers to his difference as a liability is when he's hoping for his son. It's easily the most poignant moment in the movie
What I always liked about this scene was that it was the first time you realized that Forest actually knew that he was slower than everyone else. Up to this point he had just been charging through life seemingly oblivious to that fact
What was Jenny supposed to do? Tag him in a tweet? This film is the worst for reactions. Most reactors give Jenny a hard time, completely oblivious to the trauma she experienced. Just annoying.
Raped by her father, used like a whore by hippies and the Black Panthers, strung out on drugs by dealers and players and when she finally decides to get her life together she is pregnant with Forrest's kid he's and then she finds out she is dying from a disease.
How would he have known? He was never home since he was running. No way of getting in contact with him. It was until he went home, he saw the letters from her.
I think what's most surprising to me is, this scene didn't completely wreck some of them. For me, I was a basket case, I completely broke down. I don't understand how anyone couldn't.
I'm not a fan of this movie at all but as someone who lives with a mental disability, Forrest hoping his son isn't like him hits really hard. I'm so glad these reactors all see the significance of that part.
I actually asked the same thing when my girl and I had our kids I was worried that my problems would pass on to them but luckily one only inherited my bipolar problems.
I ought to start reacting to him reacting to them reacting to the movie just to have someone come and react to me and then someone react to them... and on and on... and on.
the real surprising part is that there was a face on the upper right this whole time. is he reacting to the reactors or rewatching the scene over and over again. it distracted me too much i forgot this was forrest gump. not groundhog day.
Saw this movie in the theater when it came out. Hated Jenny then, still hate her now. Jenny was the antagonist and Forrest’s only mistake in life was chasing her. Jenny was literally the embodiment of every bad trait a woman can have.
"She couldn't tell him because he was running for 3 years, no way to reach him!" Yeah, and he was receiving NATIONAL news coverage for a good chunk of that time. She could have gone to any major news outlet, told them the situation, and they would've been eager to break the story and reunite them.
The only thing I have ever wanted for myself in my life is to be a father. And I fear ai will never get that chance. I worry that my life will never have meaning. That all of this was for nothing.
Is that even his son? You know Jenny was not a one man woman. I think she just wanted forrest to take care of her and her kid because he had money and she knew he would be there. Screw that lady.
She was dying you incel dork. She wanted to make sure her kid had a good life. If she hadn't married Forrest he would've gone into state foster care. Forrest had been rich for years before this and she never asked for a dime. Try actually watching the movie. And maybe someday a girl might actually talk to you. I doubt it though 😂😂😂😂
I love how everyone condones her behaviour by saying “he was running for 3 years” they couldn’t get hold of him… Forgetting that he protected her from predatory men, and protecting her from herself, she came into his house, told him that she loved him, gave him some of that good stuff and then snuck off in the early hours without any explanation… in response to that he started running for 3 years because Jenny told him in the beginning of the film… don’t ever try to be brave, just run, so instead of being brave he run, just like Jenny told him to do, because he has clear learning disabilities… Jenny knew she did him dirty, hence the apology.
That’s not true. She couldn’t get in touch with him if she wanted to because Forest went running for three years. When she finally did, it wasn’t because of money, it was because she was dying and wanted her son to be taken care of.
She also went four years without asking for a dime in child support. She returned earlier because it was either him or jumping off the balcony. And if she was a money grabber, she would have said yes when he asked to marry her. And taken him for half.
He was already rich and famous when she came back to stay with him before little Forrest was conceived and never asked him for a dime. Try actually watching the movie if you're gonna be an incel troll

She told him to make sure little Forrest didn't go into foster care.
The movie never identifies Jenny's virus. Also, HIV/AIDS is usually passed on to children.
This also took place in the 1980’s; there were no cellphones back then.
Hot take.....she was also running.....that's why we despise jeeennnaaaiiii
"Is he smart?"
"Forrest, this whole movie is about not having to be smart."
Dad just doesn't want his son to go through what he went through with the bullies and name calling
@@jasondierbeck4392 Bingo
@@jburr2468
Yep.
@@whocares3986 What are you even talking about? You make no sense.
@HumorousLOL
She was horrible to Forrest.
STOP bashing Jenny for "not telling him." 🙄
I agree its getting ridiculous how people are annoyed by her.
You can be the toughest guy or girl on the planet... if this scene doesn't get you, you are officially emotionaly dead.
Who's the creepy dude at the top right of the screen?
Your real dad.
Forrest’s jr real dad.

The actual creator of the video.
He has to have his face in the video(s), because TH-cam will copyright his content and say he "stole content" from the reactors (when that's not the case).
Okay, this can't be the top 10 Forest Gump reactions without reactions from The 354 Squad's reaction. 🤯
Tom Hanks is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. Practically everything he touches is pure movie gold!
"Is he smart or is he....?"
That's the part that gets me. As dimwitted as Forrest may be, he's still smart enough to know how he is. And as if that weren't enough, he's so scared of passing it on that he can't even bring himself to finish the question.
Two words, Forrest. Paternity. Test.
She knew he was loaded with cash and she was dying shady AF definitely paternity test time
I've watched 20 of your videos, and I've enjoyed them all!!!
The instant Jenny said that, MY reaction would have been, "My name is NOT Forrest .... NOT Forrest Gump! BYE NOW!
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
Damn, I love you for these! Count me in!
Younger people never realize it's the 80s it wasn't easy getting in contact with people especially if they were running across north America for almost 4 years
As someone who grew up in the 80s absolutely not an excuse. She did him very dirty
@@jaynehogue2459 she did herself more dirty than she did him
My fav movie. It makes you laugh, it makes you cry. An incredible piece of movie making. Not to mention the kick ass soundtrack
The whole push and pull of emotions in this one scene was just part of this great movie
One of the greatest acting performance in cinema history.
FTW. Thank you so much for this! Thank you!
Sad people don’t understand he was unavailable for 3.5 years running. How could Jenny tell him anything?
Everyone gets on Jenny for not telling Forrest about the child. Remember Forrest had been running for 3 years and was’t at home or by a telephone.
The first and only time Forrest refers to his difference as a liability is when he's hoping for his son. It's easily the most poignant moment in the movie
Had Jenny never heard the tragic news from the doctor, you have to question if Forest would have seen his son ever.
@@martinishot
Nope. Not a chance.
You'd want to go ahead and get that child DNA tested.
😂
Why? Jenny obviously is not a gold digger.
@@garylefevers
No she isn’t. Agreed.
But if the child is that smart, there is a strong possibility he might not be his son.
@@robbob5302It's not hereditary.
This is why he won the Oscar.
What I always liked about this scene was that it was the first time you realized that Forest actually knew that he was slower than everyone else. Up to this point he had just been charging through life seemingly oblivious to that fact
Are you kidding me?
The Biggest villain in movie history is Jenny along with Grandpa Joe from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The only people who unironically think this way are pathetic, gross sexists. Be ashamed of who you are.
He Started Running During Pres Carter and Quit with Reagan lolol
I hope he got a DNA test
exactly. With her? you never know. She isn't a staple of polite society.
My mother named me after my father...thank you mom.
Tom Hanks is a living legend
What was Jenny supposed to do? Tag him in a tweet? This film is the worst for reactions.
Most reactors give Jenny a hard time, completely oblivious to the trauma she experienced.
Just annoying.
Raped by her father, used like a whore by hippies and the Black Panthers, strung out on drugs by dealers and players and when she finally decides to get her life together she is pregnant with Forrest's kid he's and then she finds out she is dying from a disease.
"You dont know what love is, Forrest"
Proceeds to marry him only AFTER he becomes a millionaire
SO CUTE
EVERYONE JUST WASHES OVER THE YEARS HE MISSED
WITH HIS OWN SON
TYPICAL
One thing I just noticed is when the the door opens forest is still looking a jen
sir, you are so sweet ,thank you!!! :)
Is he 😢smart he felt every insult he knew every put down.
I'm not a fan of this movie at all but as someone who lives with a mental disability, Forrest hoping his son isn't like him hits really hard. I'm so glad these reactors all see the significance of that part.
L.P.'s Theme knows how to tug the heartstrings 🥧
I could watch this 24/7
It IS her, in every way
I actually asked the same thing when my girl and I had our kids I was worried that my problems would pass on to them but luckily one only inherited my bipolar problems.
Dude, why did you mess up the video?
Is this channel foreal based on reacting to other people reacting to a movie?
I ought to start reacting to him reacting to them reacting to the movie just to have someone come and react to me and then someone react to them... and on and on... and on.
I'm going to start a channel where I react to this guy's videos.
All my favorite reactors except Dasha. Try to include her next time
JJTV didnt make the cut?!?
This scene always bothered me, Jenny waited to tell Forrest after she found out she was dying.
the real surprising part is that there was a face on the upper right this whole time. is he reacting to the reactors or rewatching the scene over and over again. it distracted me too much i forgot this was forrest gump. not groundhog day.
She waited until the simp was rich and famous and Booom! You're a father, Forrest! Forgive me, but I demand the paternity test!
wait i'm confused... are you reacting to people's reactions? or are you superimposing your reaction to the movie itself? lol
Saw this movie in the theater when it came out. Hated Jenny then, still hate her now. Jenny was the antagonist and Forrest’s only mistake in life was chasing her. Jenny was literally the embodiment of every bad trait a woman can have.
Most of those who are reviewing this movie have seen it before. They are a bunch of phonies! 😂
Haley Joel Osment cameo!
The biggest villian in movie history....
Sounds like you have some unresolved personal issues.
💯
😢😢😢
"She couldn't tell him because he was running for 3 years, no way to reach him!"
Yeah, and he was receiving NATIONAL news coverage for a good chunk of that time. She could have gone to any major news outlet, told them the situation, and they would've been eager to break the story and reunite them.
You ruined it dude you ruined it. You ruined it.
The only thing I have ever wanted for myself in my life is to be a father. And I fear ai will never get that chance.
I worry that my life will never have meaning. That all of this was for nothing.
these reaction compilations are genious. i hope you make a shitton of $$ sir. great idea.
Choro muito toda vez que vejo
Is that even his son? You know Jenny was not a one man woman. I think she just wanted forrest to take care of her and her kid because he had money and she knew he would be there. Screw that lady.
She was dying you incel dork. She wanted to make sure her kid had a good life. If she hadn't married Forrest he would've gone into state foster care. Forrest had been rich for years before this and she never asked for a dime. Try actually watching the movie. And maybe someday a girl might actually talk to you. I doubt it though 😂😂😂😂
Um... how did Jenny know who the daddy was when she was effing every-other man when she was "on the road"? ( Forrest, insist on DNA test)
Jenny, the most evil woman is fiction. Or at least one of them.
Haley Joel Osment was a cute kid.
The more you watch this movie, the more you realize that Jenny is a pretty horrible person later in life.
They need to kick you off this app.
Common mom move. Shes so fd up. He was easy to reach she was being a coward.
I really didn’t like Jenny; she only got back in his life after learning he was rich and famous.
That’s not true. She couldn’t get in touch with him if she wanted to because Forest went running for three years. When she finally did, it wasn’t because of money, it was because she was dying and wanted her son to be taken care of.
Dude. She’s literally written to show the trauma from being abused. You don’t like her because she had ptsd from sexual abuse?
You missed the point 😑
She also went four years without asking for a dime in child support.
She returned earlier because it was either him or jumping off the balcony. And if she was a money grabber, she would have said yes when he asked to marry her. And taken him for half.
He was already rich and famous when she came back to stay with him before little Forrest was conceived and never asked him for a dime. Try actually watching the movie if you're gonna be an incel troll
bro why are you in the corner of every reaction??? Like I appreciate that you edit these videos but we are not here to watch you watch them.
are you seriously reacting to other people's reactions? Is that what we're doing?
How do these reactions by women fit with the common attitude of todays women? There is a strong discrepancy. In a movie they all want Jenny to love the good hearted idiot and go for the trad wife life. But in reality they chose the bad guy over the nice guys and trad wife is a tabu.
Jenny belongs to da STREETS!!!!
Jenny is one of the most evil characters in movie history
This is an absolute joke. So people are watching a reaction of a reaction of a reaction and making money wtf? Listen gupta go do one cuz your account is getting taken down bloody bloody
