What a beautiful drone shot of your boat, she looks awesome, that's worth a still in a frame! Congratulation to both of you, you must feel really proud, I know I do for you. The power of wanting to achieve a goal, a dream and keeping that vision alive all this time. Hell of a team and strong couple. Inspiring to watch you guys, thank you!
Great to see you away from the hard! Know the pain of constant fixes trying to make any boat just right.... these are really nice videos to watch and we wish you the best!
It's good to see you kiddos out and about. Seeing all your hard work paying off... Hope you're having a awesome time and enjoying the earnings of months and months of hard work... Be blessed...BBE..
Enjoying two weeks of sailing around after over two years of toil will be good for the soul. I hope your shakedown cruise will not show expensive problems. You two have been careful to do quality work so I don't expect many problems will arise. I'm sure you can hardly wait till all land disappears from the horizon.....and so do I.
To have nearly everything on the boat stolen and then to spend 2 years doing it up ... in my book you's 2 are just unbelievable people . I want to wish you's 2 the best for the future
Thanks for this video. For us who has been enjoying all your endeavors on the many months I sure most of us feel like we're there with you. Celebrating.
Congrats on two years of work and now, at last, on the hook! She looks beautiful and the bare hull kind of grows on you. Love the "green" sail covers and that is surprise too! So happy for you kids and will be looking forward to your future adventures aboard Elements Of Life!
Happy you guys are finally starting to experience a little reward for all your hard work these past 2 years. I was in Stuart last week. My Mom and Sister live down there. Beautiful place. Take care.
Great that you are back sailing, you have put a lot of work into it, well done. However watching you put it together has been excellent enjoyable watching.
I can tell you both are happy to be on the water and congrats. I am happy for you both. Your hard work is paying off. I can't wait until your shake down is done and sailing the blue waters.
Horrible hearing how much was stripped off the boat. You two really took it from bare bones. Can't imagine how proud you must be of yourselves. That shot of the boat leaving the docks I'm guessing you took from the drone sitting on the deck and then flew it to catch up with you. If so, wow, that would have gotten my heart pumping! Lol, no honor among crewmates! Matt took your beer??? Bad boy. And with no remorse. We're gonna have to lay down some rules, sailor? During the Grand Rapid tours I learned both that Grand Rapids is Beer City and that Jessica is a beer girl. So hands off the suds, matey! That was amazing in the couple episodes where you lamented over having bought items way before you needed them (good prices) and then they don't work when you take them out. That's a tough lesson. A well earned R and R. Nice orbit of the boat with the drone. See, you got it pretty quickly. Beautiful boat! Cheers!
You two guys are a true class act, and an inspiration. Thank you for not being just another "bikini bait" video. What you've done with the boat is truly amazing. Fair winds and full sails to you both.
Congrats guys so close to being complete! enjoy your week you truly deserve it! you have achieved so much to get Elements to the state she is in now! I am following your progress from the UK!
Great to see it moving, And I so feel for you two about the items you purchased, and then when used they didn't work, I also purchased many items for a project that turned into a longterm one..and yep, had many things that just didn't work at all, even if they sat in a temperature secure house in their boxes for 2 yrs.! Of course the warranties were over, even on the 2 $300+ items, and the more expensive 2 as well, an they didn't repair 'that model' anymore, but would be happy to sell me their 'new' models!! But on a positive note, Elements looked REALLY nice in the water and on the move! Know you ran into some things, but it wouldn't be a shakedown cruise w/out some shake! And much better now, than when you are out on open water, and you 2 will get it where it needs to be. And now to make you feel even better, friends of mine took on a similar project that they hoped was going to be a 1 /3/4-2 yrs. at the most, has some life things hit, and now yr. 3 has hit and they believe they are like 2 months away, so you should feel good about the work you have done, and the results of that work.
So proud of you two! The determination and fortitude to follow through and get your boat done is inspirational. I hope you guys have many years of great memories. GOD bless, JC
As soon as I saw your headline I was thrilled for you. After two years at hard labor you certainly have earned the down time. I hope your shakedown cruse goes well and any issues are both few and simple fixes.
Power boater from Portland Oregon here. Love the videos. I can relate to the boatyard stress. Three boats over 40' and it never ends. Hold fast and happy sailing.
Oh yea! I can't wait to check this out later. You guys have been so inspirational with your work ethic, determination and drive to realize your goals! Congratulations!
Great job you two. It's nice seeing where I grew up. Now that you are in Stuart, you are anchoring in my backyard. I've moved away, but my parents are still there on the river. While you were in Indiantown, you were just across the street from my cousins and you pass the park as well.
Great work getting into the water. I know it can be a massive deal to try and get all those little jobs done. We are in New Caledonia and it couldn't be more beautiful, I'm sure you'll be in the ocean sailing ASAP
Congrats guys, Damn what a beautiful boat, when you guys came through the St. Lucie Lock it brought back memories of all the snook I caught there, we took are catamaran through there a few times, it was crazy how low the water was in the canal and Lake Okeechobee, enjoy your mini vacation, you've earned it.
You guys deserve to kick back and just relax on the water for a few weeks. That's a sweet reward for all the hard work you have done. You richly deserve it. I didn't realize your boat got stripped after you bought it. That must have been simply heartbreaking. Some people are beyond despicable. I hope you catch a break or two. Karma is bound to kick in sooner or later.
Hi Matt, You mentioned anchor light problem. So please consider cutting your own boat name letters from 3M reflective tape for you boat name. It (3M reflective self-stick) can be purchased on sheets up to 36 inches wide. Using reflective tape for the boat name lettering makes your vessel more noticeable to other boaters at night. A 2 inch wide by 18 inch long strip of 3M silver reflective tape going around the transom corners just below the toe rail and also going around the bow will also make it more viable to other boaters at night when moored or anchored. A 2 inch wide by 6 feet long strip of 3M reflective tape going up each side of the mast can be spotted by USCG search and rescue helicopters at night using their search lights from nearly 2 miles away. Also consider purchasing a Davis 3300 Mega-light Dusk to dawn portable 12v anchor light. The are great anchor lights and also cockpit lights. Low voltage/amp draw.
Congrats guys!! It is already starting to cool down here in Northern Michigan, our season is almost over. Keep up the great videos. Fair Winds from Lake Leelanau, MI
Great video. Congrats on the "vacation", after all the work y'all have should just be the piddly pain in the a.. things from here on. Soon the open blue water shall be yours again!
We're going to try and take a few opportunities to get out on open water in Palm Beach before hurricane season is over and we can be on our way for good. ☺
HI...nice dingy..huge too. SAD that all that equipment was stolen. Talk about letting the air out of your sails! (pun intended). Glad you have such a great attitude about it all. Keep us in the loop! I'm learing a lot from your vids. PEACE OUT!
It was all items we had been planning to replace, but we were also hoping to sell the old items to pay for the new ones. Guess we should have requested an itemized list upon purchase. 😢
Great job guys... I can't help but laugh though because when you go through the lock at 9:50 you seem to have a visitor.. apologies if other people have mentioned it but there's a big crawling thing along your cabin top trying to get on you tube, distracted by your legs and then at 10:10 distracted by Matt's shorts it climbs into your boat...anyway.. good luck finding him...fair winds, looking good out there on the water guys...best wishes. Dan
I can see the frustration on the little things going wrong this is bound to happen eventually better now than later! On the bright side you guys are back on the water so congrats; you did one hell of a work for the past too years on the boat. Rap up all small things make sure everything is fully operational with back ups then get ready to sail the F*** away from that place:) Cheers
Feel for you on the anchor light. We installed a brand new LED anchor light on top of our mast a couple of weeks before we left on our last cruise. It worked great, until we cut it on in our first anchorage, and nothing happened. We never got it going again, and just hung our back up anchor light from our forestay the entire cruise! Enjoying your videos!
I have enjoyed all of your videos but i have to admit i thought your new boat was a P.O.S.!!!! I now LOVE the boat!!!! GREAT JOB!!!! Cant wait for the sailing videos, info videos have been interesting but i love the cruising videos, again, great job!
Meaning when you started on the new boat, after seeing all the hard work and refit is when my opinion changed completely, she is now a beautiful sailboat!!!!
I know you guys said you were heading south, but if you manage to get a little north of Stuart you'll find Ft. Pierce with some very nice anchorages along the ICW and a couple of very nice marinas with co-located restaurants. i keep my Egg Harbor 40 "Andiamo" at the Ft. Pierce City Marina, which is in the heart of the rejuvenated downtown area. Weekend Farmer's Market and monthly festivals in the city park adjacent to the marina. Plenty of empty slips this time of year or anchor across the ICW and dinghy in for a fun weekend destination. If you get to the FPCM, tell Anne or Becky that Brian sent you. Hope to see you on the water before you cast off from the area for good.
I keep wondering if you should sew in a drain in your awning to capture rain water. Congrats on casting the lines and wish you the best luck with getting the kinks worked out so you can shove off for more adventures.

Loved the drone shots of the boat - gives a much better view of its lines than in the relatively closeup shots in the yard we've seen up till now..
Thanks for this video. For us who has been enjoying all your endeavors on the many months I sure most of us feel like we're there with you. Celebrating.
Congratulations! You are finally underway after a hard fought battle to refit your boat. Well done. You have lots to be proud of.
Congrats on two years of work and now, at last, on the hook! She looks beautiful and the bare hull kind of grows on you. Love the "green" sail covers and that is surprise too! So happy for you kids and will be looking forward to your future adventures aboard Elements Of Life!
Thank you so much! We can't wait until we can change over the blue headsails for a uniformed look.
Yay!!! Glad to see the cast off and that you guys are waiting. Smart cookies
Happy you guys are finally starting to experience a little reward for all your hard work these past 2 years. I was in Stuart last week. My Mom and Sister live down there. Beautiful place. Take care.
It is such a beautiful place, we're lucky to have it so close by.
Great that you are back sailing, you have put a lot of work into it, well done. However watching you put it together has been excellent enjoyable watching.
So exciting guys that your finally sailing, lots of hard work has come to fruition. Congrats!
So great to see how far you two have come!!
That Dinghy looks huge!!
Just over 10'! We hope she treats us well over the next few years.
I can tell you both are happy to be on the water and congrats. I am happy for you both. Your hard work is paying off. I can't wait until your shake down is done and sailing the blue waters.
Hoping to get a few test sails in the Atlantic, and with some luck, we'll be off for good in about 10 weeks! 😃
Horrible hearing how much was stripped off the boat. You two really took it from bare bones. Can't imagine how proud you must be of yourselves.

We think we're going to expand it to two weeks now. 😃 Thanks for following along!
I think you guys have one of the most beautiful boats of any sailing channel. Plus you did it yourself.
Thanks, but I'd happily trade for LVB's Outremmer :)
Matt
@@MJSailing LOL !!!
Congratulation Matt and Jessica. A job well done. Odds and ends to sort out yet, but you have basically made it. Happy for you.
Definitely things to be done back at the marina, but now we know she can travel!
Great to see y'all on the water! Enjoy!

So happy for both of you. Long time coming !!
Congrats, your boat has turned into a looker, beautiful job!
Congrats guys, so glad you finally got "out there" even if not far and not for long! Such big smiles on the two of you!! :))

It has to be a great feeling to get away from the dock for a while.... Congrats .... !
Free at last!!!! Have fun!!
Ugh, I wish we were free! But it's only a shakedown and then back to the marina for more work.
The boat looks so good, especially when seen from a distance with the white, blue and green oh and aluminium of course.
You guys deserve to kick back and just relax on the water for a few weeks. That's a sweet reward for all the hard work you have done. You richly deserve it.

Glad to see you guys are semi-sailing. Can't wait to see the sails up next week.
Spoiler alert, they don't go up in the next episode. 😢 But the one after that!
Love the bright green btw. You need a wind scoop as well, that is if you don't already have one. A bright green one.
A wind scoop is sooooo needed right now.

We have been rooting for you two! Glad to see you both back on the water! Would love to see a tour of the boat if you are ready to.
Thank you so much! Hopefully there will be another tour soon enough, but honestly, not too much has changed inside since our last one.
Beautiful boat! Shame about it being stripped by thieves.
Good to see you on the water. Congrats.
A Modelo Negro,.. a favorite of mine. You 2 are awesome.
