    Before you join the navy, get on a ship and see if you get seas sick. Before you join the army, get in a car and see if you get car sick. Before you join the marine corp walk 20 miles and see if you just plain out get sick. before you join the air force try sitting in a chair for 8 hours and see if you get sick of it.

    It’s been my plan to join the navy since highschool. I took the test and I failed and lost All my motivation and did not continue the plan. Fast forward to 6 years later, here I am now 26 years old and redirected back to my old plan and now I am shipping out in 30 days! Best decision I’ve ever made! HOOYAH!!

    Well in 2023 I’ve been feeling so down about a bunch of things in my life. My job wage. The same thing day in and day out. So I just applied and hope I get some word back soon. I’ve worked on cruise ships so the seasickness doesn’t scare me at all. I love adventure and to be able to have a long lifetime career is definitely my goal. I’m looking for some direction and guidance too. I think the navy can be all of those things for me. Thanks so much for this information video!

    You probably get this a lot but what if I’m scared to join ?? Mainly , because of my anxiety. I have had struggles with anxiety going back to 3rd grade from as far as I remember. I’m 25 now. And every now and then I still have those days or moments. I want to join , because I want to grow. For security for myself and my daughter. And I’m just not happy here where I’m working and have been for the past 6 years. I feel like this can’t be the only thing that’s for me. Like I should be doing something bigger than myself. Helping people has always been a passion of mine too. But it’s just the anxiety things. I mean here when I have anxiety moments I learned to do certain things , even like take a lunch break and take a moment for myself to calm down if I needed to. Idk how it’ll be in the military life

    • @shmo5150
      @shmo5150  3 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      At some point you can’t let fear dictate your future. Fear holds us back from the greatest opportunities life can give us. You’ve told me you have learned how to cope with anxiety when it kicks in, which means if it ever came up during your time in the military then you’ll know how to combat it. You’ve probably heard this before but we were all created with a purpose. To get out there and do big things. You know that because you’ve been feeling it for the past 6 years!!! You just have to take that leap of faith. Worst thing that could happen is the military denies your application for some reason which isn’t the end of the world. You have a passion somewhere inside you, you can chase. If the military works, they can help you with your anxiety. Best of luck to you partner 💯

      Glad you enjoyed! And don’t even worry about your glasses, that was my concern in the beginning too and it’s not like they dislike people with glasses hah! Everything works out just fine wearing glasses and they take care of us. When it comes to the pool portion it will be ok, they have you tuck your glasses into your shorts and I promise you won’t lose them, trust the process and your RDC’s

So I decided to take the asvab and unfortunately scored lower and now I'm told I can't take the asvab until 3 years from now. If I would have scored higher I would have given the chance to request, but this is what I qualified for
      PR
      BM
      AO
      ABH
      ABF
      ABE

    Why you should join the Military:
    If you work at a dead end job, living paycheck to paycheck, bored in your current living situation, 21+ and still lives with your parents depending for their support day-to-day basis, plenty of opportunities after service, military discounts, VA health, dental, vision benefits, VA loans (possibly the lowest APR: home, auto, etc…) and most importantly. Married or have a family, why? You may get a lot more money towards your salary for Basic Housing Allowance.
    Edit: RETIRE AFTER 20 YEARS OF SERVICE. That’s right. Lifetime pension and other benefits!
