I like how this actually feels like something blink would write while retaining the melody of the original song. So many people would just take whatever popular four chord blink so and place the Wonderwall lyrics over it.
I've found that the best parodies are done by those who genuinely love the artists and studied the styles properly in depth to know what makes their sound. Alex clearly is one of these dudes.

Here's a list of songs that have these moments: Mutt Anthem Man Overboard Online Songs Give Me One Good Reason Please Take Me Home Don't Tell Me It's Over Time to Break Up Violence These are just some off the top my head. There's also some elements here that he used from live performances, such as slight alterations in singing during the choruses and stuff like that that Tom would do often in performances of Aliens Exist, Violence, and Dammit

What makes Alex the king of re writing songs is that he does the whole song. He doesn’t cheap out after the first verse, he takes the time to do the entire song and that’s why I love him so much
I don't consider myself an Oasis fan or a Blink-182 fan, but this is honestly one of the best covers I've ever heard. The writing is so unique and interesting, but you don't lose the sprit of the original song for a second. I think that's how covers should be.

The verses sound like Neighborhoods-era Tom lyrics, the chorus sounds like EotS-era Mark lyrics, and the instrumental (Travis-style drums included) just sound like the best of blink-182 from all eras combined. It's funny how lyrics written by a 90's British not-a-boyband can sound like the lyrics of a 90's American not-a-boyband. Absolutely killed another cover, Alex!

Very interested dynamic going on with the different era's of drumming. From Scott's early, fast paced traditional punk to Travis' many styles over the years. Extremely good attention to detail!
This is about the only time hearing “Anyway, here’s wonderwall” would be okay. Cartel did a great version of it on Punk Goes 90s, but it’s still a downtempo version. The pep up in pace certainly made this song much more enjoyable.
@@sebastianscherf8242 Those old Punk Goes albums had some good stuff on them. Not all, but a lot. Punk Goes Crunk was a rare exception, that one was....well, it was a bunch of punk and heavy rock artist covering Rap songs in their style, you can imagine how that was.

I don't think this exact song will work, because the lyrics phrases and melodic lines in "I miss you" are constructed very far away from Noel's style of writing. Though I don't think it's impossible to find the song in Blink's catalogue that would better work for Oasis style

Travis never went this fast with Blink. It was what drove me crazy about Blink. It was always 4/4 standard pop drums. I KNOW Travis can play better.

I don't think this exact song will work, because the lyrics phrases and melodic lines in "I miss you" are constructed very far away from Noel's style of writing. Though I don't think it's impossible to find the song in Blink's catalogue that would better work for Oasis style
I mean, honestly, has anyone sent this stuff to Blink? They have to be absolutely blown away by how good this stuff is!
