I haven't seen a video yet where the person reviewing knows how to ride. Not being a internet hater so I still appreciate the video being made and uploaded. Thanks
The 660 is very top heavy stock. Save yourself some headaches and install a wider axle (Tusk makes a good cheap one), or install some extended wheel hubs on the rear. It will make a world of difference for stability.
And if you stay to the right on the Turkey Run once you go down and come up that steep incline, you wont have to deal with that ravine at the end. Much nicer trail that way. Hidden Falls is awesome. :)
Good job buddy for a first time raptor660. some fun facts tires at about 6-12 psi that way your knot jumping off rocks or your bike and learn to shift your weight towards your turns once you master this and drop the fear you could really open her up
keep it in gear when you load it and just use the clutch to allow the wheels to roll, so once you get the front on its locked in place and wont roll off.
Is this guy serious I mean even never riding a quad before no one would I think could be that bad Im a 4 wheeler guy but can still ride a bike this is unreal
Kevin Stamper ok so let’s say you’ve never road and you don’t know clutch that’s like starting on a 250 or a 450 ima bike guy but it takes time to learn on anything when I started on a atv I suck but I got better the more I did it
I've a 660 Raptor, it is a beast, in fact that's its name, the Beast, first quad I ever owned. Last year the beast threw me, dislocated my shoulder, hurt way more than ouch!
No need to be scared of a raptor if it's stock! I learned to ride clutch on one, with extra stuff put into. You can handle that! Just give it some throttle and have some fun! I'm betting you think it's more powerful than it really is.
Yankee search raptor 660 top speed and raptor 700 top speed the 700 doesn’t even have a 1mph difference. Ps: if a raptor 660 loses to a raptor 700 they are lucky
Personally the 700 has fuel pump problems. I've talked to a couple of people who aren't getting full power in high gears because of fuel issues even with power commanders installed. So I brought a 2005 660r yesterday.
Man, I really got a kick outta this! lol Good information for new riders and great first run. I really enjoy your commentary throughout the video, super fun. I'll be subscribing and watching more.
completely constructive criticism here man but you REALLY need to start using your legs to lift it in and not your back. you wont feel what damage your doing to it now, in a week, in a month, maybe even a year but you WILL feel it sooner or later. just saying, stay safe
I have the same exact quad and a 2009 kx450 and have rode ever since I was young I learned in three wheelers but by far my kx 450 scares the shit out of me the raptor is fast for a quad though.
+lmCIoudz first of all because he isn't an experienced quad rider and is starting on a large quad. Second because it's much heavier than a dirt bike and if it landed on you your more likely to get seriously hurt and third a quad is generally harder to manipulate then a dirt bike
+Dan// yeah, uhm, i started out on a grizzly 660 utility quad when i was 7, then when i was good at maneuvering and new how to actually ride and get myself out of a sticky situation, i went to a raptor 660 in 2005. I've been riding them ever since, and I know what i'm talking about when i say raptor 660s are very dangerous. they are super torquey and have a huge amount of power. Mine is a 100mph bike and the average stock is about 80mph. any bike with that much power, especially for a beginner who is used to dirt bikes, is dangerous. My boyfriend is a major dirt bike man, can handle them like a pro, but last time he just took my bike out for a test drive and he got a concussion. he wasnt used to that much power, weight, and it's balance point. lol nothing to play around with, they're serious bikes. NOT being an ass, i'm just letting you know.
I'm not hating or being an ass, just saying, with the mistakes you made, I think that's just because your not used to the handling of a 4 wheeled machine. Motorcycles are completely different in the way they handle. It also could just be shitty tires lol Great vid man, your a really cool dude
I got an 01 raptor. I hate it. Bought it brand new from the dealer. Thought it was the nuts, sharp looking, reverse,no mixing fuel, electric start, blah blah blah. Wish i bought the bansh instead. Shoulda bought the friggin banshee🙄🙄🙄
I got a 440cc that will walk that raptor back to its trailer. If u poot around like that get a 300 lol i ride my z400 like i stole it never do i say gently about anything. But hey some ppl are scared
no its definitly a single. Does have two holes in the head for better flow though for intake and exhaust. Still just one piston. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_Raptor_660
Man it's a 660 race quad not a battery power Barbie jeep lol
Lmfao 😂😂😂
Stop whining. Damn! That thing is a well known dune competitor, powerhouse and trail king. You just dont know how to use the tool.
I haven't seen a video yet where the person reviewing knows how to ride. Not being a internet hater so I still appreciate the video being made and uploaded. Thanks
Go to my videos i ride
I’m going to post one within a couple days 4 years late but I’m here to save the 660 community
It's not the quad buddy it's you. Maybe u should start on an raptor 80

My raptor is 20 years old and still moves like a jet
A lot of the problems your going through on that is because your afraid of the machine, and your an inexperienced rider
Is this guy serious I mean even never riding a quad before no one would I think could be that bad Im a 4 wheeler guy but can still ride a bike this is unreal

Maybe you should start with a yamaha blaster or something like that
Lmao right acts luek he k ows but cant even drive one
My dad wants to buy me this for future proofing and im 13 but i do know how to ride quads and ill keep it a speed im comfortable with
Snowmobile guide here, do forearm workouts in between rides to keep that muscle growing!

The 660 is great for the money but the 700 really is the way to go because it addressed a lot of the inherent flaws of the 660.
Yankee search raptor 660 top speed and raptor 700 top speed the 700 doesn’t even have a 1mph difference. Ps: if a raptor 660 loses to a raptor 700 they are lucky

+Carley Cooper Thanks!
2:13 - My back has left the chat
Raptor lovers ❤❤❤❤
Where did you go riding??? It looks like if it's family oriented, not much chaotic crazy ridiculous traffic. Thanks.
+Junior Lopez Hidden Fall is pretty family friendly.
+MaksWerks Is that in Cali? I'm from Southern California
+Junior Lopez Lol. Central Texas. Where I am based.
+MaksWerks Well that sucks LOL
+MaksWerks Thanks anyway buddy👍🏼Cool vid by the way. Not bad at all for a first timer
completely constructive criticism here man but you REALLY need to start using your legs to lift it in and not your back. you wont feel what damage your doing to it now, in a week, in a month, maybe even a year but you WILL feel it sooner or later. just saying, stay safe
And how does it handle on concrete?
It handles ok for what it is, but it is definitely better in the dirt where it can slide.
wet concrete is fun. you can drift everything
Hare Krishna it handles like a DEATHTRAP on the street....... and MOTÖRHEAD
Did you die right at the end of the video? I was hoping for an epic dismount like earlier in the video haha! Loving the videos man!
Bloopers video is coming out next week.
I’m not sure why you drove off the road man you had plenty of it 😂
why isnt he using the clutch when he shifts?!?!?!!?
Its a performance sequential. Clutch use is not required, especially on dirt.
MaksWerks oh that's cool!! Hey will you sub me we have like the same content? And we can collab I subbed you I also have a raptor 660 I just got one
I road a raptor 660r and they fucking fly
imagine a 700
my 660r is so juiced it'll blow any 700 out of the water. never lost a drag on it.
you talk to basic. what if i get my friends? turbo. 120 hp. goes 140 mph
Careful
I learned 2 things from this.
1) I just got a bad freaking quad..
2) I'm also a great rider..
this poor guy isn't..
feels bad srry about your luck
You got a 660?
rockn raptor If you have a 660 then you have a good one, this guy is just putting it to shame
wow man, leave the reviews to people that know how to ride..Dude....just stop !
Exactly what I was going to say! This guy is terrible
I have the same exact quad and a 2009 kx450 and have rode ever since I was young I learned in three wheelers but by far my kx 450 scares the shit out of me the raptor is fast for a quad though.
Gonna keep it?
You know the rules, everything is for sale. Plus this is one toy that is actually quite dangerous.
+MaksWerks I'm genuinely curious how this quad is "quite dangerous". A quad is only dangerous if you're an idiot
+lmCIoudz first of all because he isn't an experienced quad rider and is starting on a large quad. Second because it's much heavier than a dirt bike and if it landed on you your more likely to get seriously hurt and third a quad is generally harder to manipulate then a dirt bike

Carley Cooper your raptor doesn't go anywhere near 100 lmfao
What camera settings do you use?
Hero3+ Black. 1080 superwide, protune on.
Thing is, on my dirt helmet it sticks way up in the air, so it gives a bit of an odd perspective.
The engine on these are similar to the Yamaha yfz450 the Suzuki ltz450 / Suzuki QuadRider / Suzuki Quadrunner
8:21 😂
Shift with your clutch
Why
I thought you only need hand clutch for 1st and reverse
First of all your gonna wear your clutch plates down and it’s not good for your gears . Raptors already have 2nd gear problems
what exhaust was that
pro y exhaust
I'm not hating or being an ass, just saying, with the mistakes you made, I think that's just because your not used to the handling of a 4 wheeled machine. Motorcycles are completely different in the way they handle. It also could just be shitty tires lol
Great vid man, your a really cool dude
Joe Smo Thanks.
I absolutely had little to no experience. I did not really have any knocks against the quad. Just was not really my thing.
I would buy a raptor 80cc if I were you..waaay easier to control
I got an 01 raptor. I hate it. Bought it brand new from the dealer. Thought it was the nuts, sharp looking, reverse,no mixing fuel, electric start, blah blah blah. Wish i bought the bansh instead. Shoulda bought the friggin banshee🙄🙄🙄
Better get you a 125 Enduro, those are big boy toys going to kill yoself on that Raptor
The raptor is automatic right?
6 speed manual
MaksWerks 5 speed u mean
Think hes including reverse
I got a 440cc that will walk that raptor back to its trailer. If u poot around like that get a 300 lol i ride my z400 like i stole it never do i say gently about anything. But hey some ppl are scared
this is not a single its a twin
no its definitly a single. Does have two holes in the head for better flow though for intake and exhaust. Still just one piston. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_Raptor_660
