Dude, this one feels different. There's a lot of movement that isn't repeated like some of your older work. It'll start, and instead of looping, the movement changes. In the same panel! Sounds silly, but seeing that blew me away. In the back round as well, nothing is still or looping. Things feel like they have gravity and weight attached to it. I had to watch a second time because I kept missing dialog due to watching how Indepth the animation had my attention. I don't know how you keep leveling up your work, mickell. I was so engaged in akihotos' vision that YOU brought to genuine life. This got me so fucking hyped man. Take a bow. You deserve it.

Honestly what fascinates me most about the Juusou is that phrasing “they appear among those born within the Abyss.” Obviously more Delvers than Lyza have had kids in the Abyss, so does that mean that every once in a while, an Abyss-born child is born as a Juusou? Or are Juusou born from creatures native to the Abyss. The first option seems more likely, and that’s a special kind of horror honestly. Just imagining birthing a child in the Abyss and they come out as that makes my skin crawl. Also the colored section showing the Eye is so damn freaky and I love it!
given that they define narehate as those who have "lost their humanity" and they say a juusou would be eliminated no matter how much "humanity" they had left, seems to imply they were born of humans. the Abyss giving birth to ur-humans would be horrifying but a human giving birth to a narehate would definitely be worse as you say. maybe every human born in the abyss is a juusou, just some of them are obviously and physically warped by the curse but others may not have any exterior deformities. I'm basically saying what if Riko is actually a juusou, but not one that has any visible defects (except maybe her bad eyesight????). it could be an interesting dive into what being human, having a soul and what the transition to narehate actually entails beyond just the physical change.
Maybe it has something to do with ascending while pregnant, iirc Riko was born before they started ascending. It could fit for the mother to love her baby and then take the curse for her child, similar to what happened with Nanachi/Mitty.
@@mateusisraelsilva5934 I've considered similar, and it would make some sense considering that the intensity of the relation appears to be important for that phenomenon. It doesn't get much close than the connection of a mother and her unborn child

I'm guessing Nanachi thinking she's seen the "soap" before is a bit of a clue. Maybe it can be used as an antiseptic for surgeries, as carried out by Bondrewd, and likewise used to operate on Sherumi and Menae? And it's probably a coincidence that their limbs are cut off at the same point where Reg's fully mechanical arms begin, but who knows - like maybe Reg was actually a normal kid once but was converted through the use of relics into whatever he actually is now. All a stretch of course, but we know Akihito really thinks things through and puts in easily overlooked details. So many interesting points of discussion to this chapter!
You never really know with this series! You could absolutely be right or completely off-base! That is the brilliance of Sensei's storytelling. I do think its interesting how it appears that Reg's limbs aren't described as "prosthetics" except for the newly attached Gentle Knock Relic, as if he were born with those limbs, whilst at the same time, describing himself as "not a robot". Makes you wonder just what kind of Aubade he truly is.
This confirms it, the "someone" that possessed Reg after he absorbed the power at Ido Front and fought Bondrewd was the "Girl-type" Aubade. If you watch the fight scene, you can see flashes of her face when Reg first finds Bondrewd after absorbing the Electricity/Power
Yeah, the girl bot in question is most likely that figure. Its not just in the anime version, but in the manga as well, the illustration is very similar.
Daaamn, that was the most interesting chapter in a while. Conspiracies, connections to the surface, fascinating usages of the time dilation mechanic to explain a characters goal to unveil those conspiracies, multiple character motives working around each other, and even a call back to my favourite elbow laser. He even managed to sneakily weave in another fetish via introducing some new weird, mysterious, fucked up characters and world building, honestly surprised we didn't get amputees sooner.
I think this arc is the most the series has ever had so many different character narratives thrashing against each other. I'm really curious to see where Akihito will take these characters in this arc. There are so many motivations and agendas at play, watching them unfold will be so much fun. Its shaping up to be one of the best arcs yet! and you make an upsettingly good point...amputees were bound to appear at some point weren't they....

the amount of lore drops in this chapter....it's not astronomical but considering how little we know about the layer ahead it's quite something, though even with all that info we know truly nothing about the final maelstrom, the place only ever dreamed about by delvers alike and told to children as a fanciful fairy-tale, though dreams and tales are only the result of a limited subconsciousness, so the truth may be much more eldritch than one may ever be able to comprehend... anyway enough about my metaphorical prose, you've out done yourself again dude! the amount of micro-movement and life given to these characters really adds to the viewing experience, it's the little things like the whistles on srajo moving around as she moves so bombastically or riko moving around all energetic as she tries to explain her goals, really shows how much effort and love you put into your work!! the color page showing off the entrance to the seventh layer was so stunning, the way the entrance pulses like a heart is real creepy but fitting too, i could talk about the color usage all day but i'll hold off lol also the censoring of....that part with the soap bubbles was pretty clever and i kinda wish that's how it was in the actual chapter since it'd fit a lot better imo but alas tsukushi has his priorities unfortunately... i feel like i'm slowly starting to become like a parrot in the way i talk about each of these, but i mean every single word! thanks for all the cool shit you do and more importantly take care of yourself and never forget to ctrl + s :D

Seems that either (or both) not telling Srajo about Riko's undeadness or Faputa's high value is going to be a Chekov's gun in this arc. This has been such a cool start for this arc, and it is really cool, getting a taste of what it could be like animated with sound (especially adding in Faputa's "shaas"). Also, the color palate chosen for the 7th layer was gorgeous! Keep up the good work as always.

That colored panel zooms and presentation was done so beautifully. It was a really neat detail how for the background when they mention the trial you used part of the Reg vs Nishagora fight from the last chapter. Loved the moth movement, as always what an amazing work. Leave it to Akihito to make the bath chapter packed with important info, how it seems reaching the bottom isn't as simple as just going down at this point, more info around previously "claw bot" now "girl type" and how Bondrewd might be involved and that final mystery of what could have happened with Sherumi and Menae, specially since they are so changed and last we saw them one was long dead, also that they don't seem to hate Srajo at all but they are warning them of what will happen to the group.

I wanted to share two thoughts I've had for a while now: Srajo, for now, among the white whistlers encountered so far, is the most "normal" one. Ozen felt like fighting,she confessed that she hated Riko and almost killed Reg, but in the end she wasn't bad. Bondrewd was a madman, he did those nasty things to those kids but for the greater good, so I don't consider him a villain. As I said before Srajo, for now, is the most normal. And in my opinion, Wakuna will turn out to be the bad one who will give our guys a lot of trouble. Ps.Tepaste is the new 6th layer Kawai
Really curious as to where Srajo falls on the scale of morality. I feel she isn't malevolent, but will likely do whatever it takes to achieve their goals. I can't imagine anyone would be completely sane this deep in the abyss.
Your videos always have a much deeper sense of immersion than reading the original manga. I pick up so many new details, and bits I swear I must have missed before. They're so much more full of life, and the story flows so much better. This is outrageously high quality work to be on the platform for free. You're incredible at this!

I don't know if I am onto something or not but in this chapter Srajo mentioned that after sightings of the "Girl Type" Bondrewd started using a relic (sparagmos) which sort of implies that he took it from that aubade. But what makes me really think that he took the relic is that in the Dark Reg vs Bondrewd fight, Reg had a flashback in which what I think looks what could be that "Girl Type" appears and Reg gets angry (maybe because he knew Bondrewd had maybe done something to her) in which he became even more agressive.
I've seen this theory presented a few times and I'm certain that its no coincidence. The fact of the matter is Reg VERY OPENLY says that it felt as if someone else's memories were controlling him. Its clear that the girl type's memories where piloting him in that fight and she only becomes fully rabid when she notices the one she is facing off with is Bonedrewd. They are connected through the light of spragmos.
This chapter is very interesting, they’re so close to the 7th layer, we get introduced to the full team, and we get some more lore revelations. That cliffhanger at the end though has me worried.
I still have this feeling that the "letter" from Lyza is actually part of the Hariyomari Collection that was lost. I mean, the letter looks like it was abruptly cut off as it looks like part of a sentence is missing and Ozen said it wasn't Lyza's handwriting, it was written with old Nether Glyphs without any simplified forms, written in large and crooked handwriting, and was written on a relic instead of regular paper that not even Ozen could destroy. Since we haven't seen Wakuna yet and the group are practically knocking on the door to the Final Maelstrom, it can be concluded that he's already down in the 7th layer. Bondrewd DID say that Wakuna invaded the 6th layer with his "personal relic" and "without any notice"... And both Gaburoon AND Faputa mention the White Whistle carriers and in the manga, when Gaburoon mentions the White Whistles, you see the silhouettes of Lyza and Wakuna... Bondrewd is probably a cuddly kitten compared to Wakuna if he's already down in the Final Maelstrom AND with a personal relic. I'm scared of this man.
That is a really interesting theory. It would make sense as the hariyomari collection is clearly a relic in its own right. Though it is a little strange that Srajo didn't seem to make that connection vocal (but that being said, that could very much be "one of the ten or twenty secrets" she didn't tell). God I love this series, SO MANY QUESTIONS! 🤩🤩
I had a similar thought about the note too. The older glyphs, differing handwriting (not Lyza’s) and the fact it can’t be torn, also has a similar form/shape to what we have been shown. All points to it being a fragment of the sealed letter that was presumed lost

this is awesome as usual! the use of the colored panels in the grand reveal of the “eye” and i really like the animation of all the goofy faputa moments in this chapter. the lore stuff in this chapter is very interesting. we get the first look at the seventh layer and we may get to meet claw bot soon. though i hope that riko or one of the others ask about the 2000 years event because it seemed that we were about to get more info about that when srajo was first introduced. additionally, the last scene with the weird twins remind me of an extra chapter (i think) where it shows a pair of twins examining some relics and one of them was named “Sherumi”. they don’t really look the same so idk if it is a coincidence or not

do you think that the certain delver Srajo was referring to is Wakuna? I mean, we know that he is old from Bondrewd and has a relic that can penetrate the 6th level without using the final operating base. maybe that relic is a faraway nest like the one Tapeste and Cravali used...
I surely wasn't expecting this chapter will go that brainf&ckingly. Because Nisha's "bowlings" (I'm surprised of how Reg has survived that) can conquer the whole f&cking hellhole of here. About these two snipers: Ones were humans, now are juusou, if I'm right, just of Sherumi's death-by-rotting or whatever it was happening in the memory line - so it appears they've completed their soul cycle, but who knows. And for Nanachi: Through all these adventures, this bunny's gender hasn't been and still isn't identified officially (and Akihito has also mentioned about it; told us to "imagine"), so according to how Yar (Yataramar) called them as "him" while some viewers are used to Nina as to girl - it's mildly disappointing, all's IMO. Conclusively: This chapter's beginning and ending went very wild - no more beautiful descriptions can be picked up; Aki doesn't let us down. 👀 (yep, that's a lot of commentary here 😅)

I've read the manga before the animation and it just now hit me, when Reg went crazy in the movie, before the fight, Reg saw a blond girl that was the same as him i just now realized that we're definitely so close to finding out who that is in the sixth or seventh layer, idk about you but im betting on that they we're partners or siblings who betrayed each other in a very made in abyss fucked up way
Ummm, so I was rewatching this because I just rewatched S2 episode 4 and I don't know if I'm the only one or that it's so obvious that nobody is mentioning it at all... but aren't Sherumi and Menae the twins that died in the cave and whose nametag Reg saw on episode 4? I just feel like this should be a more intruiging fact and I haven't seen many people comment on this yet. Like, what happened to them that they're now here and amputated when they looked relatively normal during that one museum page where they're looking at the netherglyphs and if they're Jusuo why were they not born Jusuo if we were to believe that the museum page was their original forms? A lot to unpack with these two characters.
You are correct in that Sherumi and Menae are the names of the twins. The manga actually includes a bonus chapter that showcases the moment before their demise and even showcases what Sherumi and Menae actually looked like...but I'm pretty sure the Sherumi and Menae in those bonus chapters (and the ones whose names appeared on the tags in that episode) are different twins to the ones who are part of the Hail Helix group. The ones within the group are both male and female, whilst the ones in the bonus chapter, both seem female. As we know in Chapter 66, there are multiple twins born who harbour the same name, which would imply that those two name tags belong to other twins of the same name. Its VERY fascinating and open-ended! I can't wait to see where they take that concept going forward :)

Honestly what fascinates me most about the Juusou is that phrasing “they appear among those born within the Abyss.” Obviously more Delvers than Lyza have had kids in the Abyss, so does that mean that every once in a while, an Abyss-born child is born as a Juusou? Or are Juusou born from creatures native to the Abyss. The first option seems more likely, and that’s a special kind of horror honestly. Just imagining birthing a child in the Abyss and they come out as that makes my skin crawl.
Also the colored section showing the Eye is so damn freaky and I love it!
given that they define narehate as those who have "lost their humanity" and they say a juusou would be eliminated no matter how much "humanity" they had left, seems to imply they were born of humans. the Abyss giving birth to ur-humans would be horrifying but a human giving birth to a narehate would definitely be worse as you say.
maybe every human born in the abyss is a juusou, just some of them are obviously and physically warped by the curse but others may not have any exterior deformities. I'm basically saying what if Riko is actually a juusou, but not one that has any visible defects (except maybe her bad eyesight????). it could be an interesting dive into what being human, having a soul and what the transition to narehate actually entails beyond just the physical change.
Maybe it has something to do with ascending while pregnant, iirc Riko was born before they started ascending. It could fit for the mother to love her baby and then take the curse for her child, similar to what happened with Nanachi/Mitty.

I was smiling and laughing along man, especially with those goofy movements Faputa was doing XD. Those effects in the video too - like with the purple effects behind Bondrewd and dark effects on the final Menae/Sherumi panel.
I am blessed to help with colouring the entrace to the 7th layer, and amazing work on that transition (it was really smooth).

I'm guessing Nanachi thinking she's seen the "soap" before is a bit of a clue. Maybe it can be used as an antiseptic for surgeries, as carried out by Bondrewd, and likewise used to operate on Sherumi and Menae? And it's probably a coincidence that their limbs are cut off at the same point where Reg's fully mechanical arms begin, but who knows - like maybe Reg was actually a normal kid once but was converted through the use of relics into whatever he actually is now. All a stretch of course, but we know Akihito really thinks things through and puts in easily overlooked details. So many interesting points of discussion to this chapter!
You never really know with this series! You could absolutely be right or completely off-base! That is the brilliance of Sensei's storytelling.
I do think its interesting how it appears that Reg's limbs aren't described as "prosthetics" except for the newly attached Gentle Knock Relic, as if he were born with those limbs, whilst at the same time, describing himself as "not a robot". Makes you wonder just what kind of Aubade he truly is.
This confirms it, the "someone" that possessed Reg after he absorbed the power at Ido Front and fought Bondrewd was the "Girl-type" Aubade. If you watch the fight scene, you can see flashes of her face when Reg first finds Bondrewd after absorbing the Electricity/Power
Yeah, the girl bot in question is most likely that figure. Its not just in the anime version, but in the manga as well, the illustration is very similar.

Daaamn, that was the most interesting chapter in a while. Conspiracies, connections to the surface, fascinating usages of the time dilation mechanic to explain a characters goal to unveil those conspiracies, multiple character motives working around each other, and even a call back to my favourite elbow laser.
He even managed to sneakily weave in another fetish via introducing some new weird, mysterious, fucked up characters and world building, honestly surprised we didn't get amputees sooner.
I think this arc is the most the series has ever had so many different character narratives thrashing against each other. I'm really curious to see where Akihito will take these characters in this arc. There are so many motivations and agendas at play, watching them unfold will be so much fun. Its shaping up to be one of the best arcs yet!

the amount of lore drops in this chapter....it's not astronomical but considering how little we know about the layer ahead it's quite something, though even with all that info we know truly nothing about the final maelstrom, the place only ever dreamed about by delvers alike and told to children as a fanciful fairy-tale, though dreams and tales are only the result of a limited subconsciousness, so the truth may be much more eldritch than one may ever be able to comprehend...
anyway enough about my metaphorical prose, you've out done yourself again dude! the amount of micro-movement and life given to these characters really adds to the viewing experience, it's the little things like the whistles on srajo moving around as she moves so bombastically or riko moving around all energetic as she tries to explain her goals, really shows how much effort and love you put into your work!! the color page showing off the entrance to the seventh layer was so stunning, the way the entrance pulses like a heart is real creepy but fitting too, i could talk about the color usage all day but i'll hold off lol also the censoring of....that part with the soap bubbles was pretty clever and i kinda wish that's how it was in the actual chapter since it'd fit a lot better imo but alas tsukushi has his priorities unfortunately...

Seems that either (or both) not telling Srajo about Riko's undeadness or Faputa's high value is going to be a Chekov's gun in this arc. This has been such a cool start for this arc, and it is really cool, getting a taste of what it could be like animated with sound (especially adding in Faputa's "shaas"). Also, the color palate chosen for the 7th layer was gorgeous! Keep up the good work as always.

That colored panel zooms and presentation was done so beautifully. It was a really neat detail how for the background when they mention the trial you used part of the Reg vs Nishagora fight from the last chapter. Loved the moth movement, as always what an amazing work.
Leave it to Akihito to make the bath chapter packed with important info, how it seems reaching the bottom isn't as simple as just going down at this point, more info around previously "claw bot" now "girl type" and how Bondrewd might be involved and that final mystery of what could have happened with Sherumi and Menae, specially since they are so changed and last we saw them one was long dead, also that they don't seem to hate Srajo at all but they are warning them of what will happen to the group.

I wanted to share two thoughts I've had for a while now:
Srajo, for now, among the white whistlers encountered so far, is the most "normal" one.
Ozen felt like fighting,she confessed that she hated Riko and almost killed Reg, but in the end she wasn't bad.
Bondrewd was a madman, he did those nasty things to those kids but for the greater good, so I don't consider him a villain.
As I said before Srajo, for now, is the most normal.
And in my opinion, Wakuna will turn out to be the bad one who will give our guys a lot of trouble.
Ps.Tepaste is the new 6th layer Kawai
Really curious as to where Srajo falls on the scale of morality.
I feel she isn't malevolent, but will likely do whatever it takes to achieve their goals. I can't imagine anyone would be completely sane this deep in the abyss.
Remember that Srajo hasn't worn the "plague doctor" costume on her. I'm curious about what happens next 👀

I don't know if I am onto something or not but in this chapter Srajo mentioned that after sightings of the "Girl Type" Bondrewd started using a relic (sparagmos) which sort of implies that he took it from that aubade. But what makes me really think that he took the relic is that in the Dark Reg vs Bondrewd fight, Reg had a flashback in which what I think looks what could be that "Girl Type" appears and Reg gets angry (maybe because he knew Bondrewd had maybe done something to her) in which he became even more agressive.
I've seen this theory presented a few times and I'm certain that its no coincidence. The fact of the matter is Reg VERY OPENLY says that it felt as if someone else's memories were controlling him. Its clear that the girl type's memories where piloting him in that fight and she only becomes fully rabid when she notices the one she is facing off with is Bonedrewd. They are connected through the light of spragmos.
Well, I didn't expect it today. Let's watch it!

This chapter is very interesting, they’re so close to the 7th layer, we get introduced to the full team, and we get some more lore revelations. That cliffhanger at the end though has me worried.
I'm sure a journey filled with many blessings and curses awaits us!
I still have this feeling that the "letter" from Lyza is actually part of the Hariyomari Collection that was lost. I mean, the letter looks like it was abruptly cut off as it looks like part of a sentence is missing and Ozen said it wasn't Lyza's handwriting, it was written with old Nether Glyphs without any simplified forms, written in large and crooked handwriting, and was written on a relic instead of regular paper that not even Ozen could destroy.
Since we haven't seen Wakuna yet and the group are practically knocking on the door to the Final Maelstrom, it can be concluded that he's already down in the 7th layer. Bondrewd DID say that Wakuna invaded the 6th layer with his "personal relic" and "without any notice"...
And both Gaburoon AND Faputa mention the White Whistle carriers and in the manga, when Gaburoon mentions the White Whistles, you see the silhouettes of Lyza and Wakuna...
Bondrewd is probably a cuddly kitten compared to Wakuna if he's already down in the Final Maelstrom AND with a personal relic. I'm scared of this man.
That is a really interesting theory. It would make sense as the hariyomari collection is clearly a relic in its own right. Though it is a little strange that Srajo didn't seem to make that connection vocal (but that being said, that could very much be "one of the ten or twenty secrets" she didn't tell).

I had a similar thought about the note too. The older glyphs, differing handwriting (not Lyza’s) and the fact it can’t be torn, also has a similar form/shape to what we have been shown. All points to it being a fragment of the sealed letter that was presumed lost

this is awesome as usual! the use of the colored panels in the grand reveal of the “eye” and i really like the animation of all the goofy faputa moments in this chapter.
the lore stuff in this chapter is very interesting. we get the first look at the seventh layer and we may get to meet claw bot soon. though i hope that riko or one of the others ask about the 2000 years event because it seemed that we were about to get more info about that when srajo was first introduced. additionally, the last scene with the weird twins remind me of an extra chapter (i think) where it shows a pair of twins examining some relics and one of them was named “Sherumi”. they don’t really look the same so idk if it is a coincidence or not

Regarding voices, I've been an avid fan of anime for a long while so I've naturally seen a fair amount. All I do is think back to characters from series I have seen, track down the va behind those characters and look into their roles to see if I can find a performance of theirs that fits the characters in this series :) (TLDR: Lots of research and listening lol)

I surely wasn't expecting this chapter will go that brainf&ckingly. Because Nisha's "bowlings" (I'm surprised of how Reg has survived that) can conquer the whole f&cking hellhole of here. About these two snipers: Ones were humans, now are juusou, if I'm right, just of Sherumi's death-by-rotting or whatever it was happening in the memory line - so it appears they've completed their soul cycle, but who knows.
And for Nanachi: Through all these adventures, this bunny's gender hasn't been and still isn't identified officially (and Akihito has also mentioned about it; told us to "imagine"), so according to how Yar (Yataramar) called them as "him" while some viewers are used to Nina as to girl - it's mildly disappointing, all's IMO.
Conclusively: This chapter's beginning and ending went very wild - no more beautiful descriptions can be picked up; Aki doesn't let us down. 👀

I've read the manga before the animation and it just now hit me, when Reg went crazy in the movie, before the fight, Reg saw a blond girl that was the same as him i just now realized that we're definitely so close to finding out who that is in the sixth or seventh layer, idk about you but im betting on that they we're partners or siblings who betrayed each other in a very made in abyss fucked up way

Ummm, so I was rewatching this because I just rewatched S2 episode 4 and I don't know if I'm the only one or that it's so obvious that nobody is mentioning it at all... but aren't Sherumi and Menae the twins that died in the cave and whose nametag Reg saw on episode 4? I just feel like this should be a more intruiging fact and I haven't seen many people comment on this yet. Like, what happened to them that they're now here and amputated when they looked relatively normal during that one museum page where they're looking at the netherglyphs and if they're Jusuo why were they not born Jusuo if we were to believe that the museum page was their original forms? A lot to unpack with these two characters.
You are correct in that Sherumi and Menae are the names of the twins. The manga actually includes a bonus chapter that showcases the moment before their demise and even showcases what Sherumi and Menae actually looked like...but I'm pretty sure the Sherumi and Menae in those bonus chapters (and the ones whose names appeared on the tags in that episode) are different twins to the ones who are part of the Hail Helix group.
The ones within the group are both male and female, whilst the ones in the bonus chapter, both seem female. As we know in Chapter 66, there are multiple twins born who harbour the same name, which would imply that those two name tags belong to other twins of the same name.
Its VERY fascinating and open-ended! I can't wait to see where they take that concept going forward :)
