Long before she was Carole King, chart-topping music legend, she was Carol Klein, Brooklyn girl with passion and chutzpah. She fought her way into the record business as a teenager and, by the time she reached her twenties, had the husband of her dreams and a flourishing career writing hits for the biggest acts in rock 'n' roll. But it wasn't until her personal life began to crack that she finally managed to find her true voice.
BEAUTIFUL tells the inspiring true story of King's remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history. Along the way, she made more than BEAUTIFUL music, she wrote the soundtrack to a generation.

Why isn't she more famous? I've asked dozens of people if they know who Melissa Benoist is and they say, "no". She is a talent equal to any known stars.
She has one show that was a hit but she came in at the end. Hopefully, Supergirl will get a long run at least 7 years.

I want to see her mom's reaction. It's great when she looks into the audience and says "MOM" in the middle of her shock. I wonder if her mom was in on this or if it was a total coincidence that she was there this particular night. Must have been awesome for her mom to see her daughter have this moment on stage with Carole King.
Did you hear Melissa tell the story that the first album her Mom bought was Tapestry?! (Something I can SO relate to. I NEVER post anything that gives my age away, but the first album I ever bought was Tapestry too!!). So I'm sure this was amazingly special to her Mom on many levels. I'm sure it will be something that thrills them both for a long time!

Gee ya think this might be a highlight in this young ladys' life? Melissa is from my hometown of Littleton, Colo...I'm still here...we were really proud when she scored Supergirl on TV, but being a musician, I am much more excited for her on this!! Yep, I wondered if anybody else caught her yelling "MOM!" ....Look! (and Caroles' bass player is also from Denver; she has a place in Boulder) but we all are so in love and proud of our Melissa!! (and Amy Adams is from 10 minutes south of Littleton, Castle Rock!!)

We were lucky enough to be there that night. This Melissa is amazing! That was a big surprise for us all for Carole king to show up on stage!

Just saw this today, Dec 1, 2022. My mom and dad would play this tapestry album until I was sick as a little girl. But I would give anything to be that SICK again. Bonanza, the first color TV series, debuted in 1959 on NBC (owned by RCA). My guess is that these were bought by affluent engineers, et. al., in the TV industry as an investment for the future.
