Now we get to find out if eating and infected person just before they turn, makes you infected too? If whatever causes the walker thing, is a virus, then in theory cooking the meat on the BBQ would destroy it. But .... it cant be a virus, because viruses require living cells to replicate. Whatever this thing is, after being bitten, you have between seconds to about a hour to live. All theories which claim this is caused by a virus, are categorically wrong ...unless TWD takes place in an alternate universe where the laws of physics are totally different ...and then everything would be different.
The story went around that it was an accident, but Melissa McBride and Robert Kirkman (who wrote this episode) both confirmed in interviews that it was written in the script. I really appreciated that little moment of humor, especially now that we know the episode ended on such a dark note. Yikes!
In the season 3 finale, Carl mentioned how he didn’t kill the walker and it ended up killing Dale, the group didn’t kill a couple people who ended up coming back and killing our group, like the Governor and Andrew the prisoner. Our group didn’t kill the remaining residents of Terminus and they stalked us, took Bob and are now eating him. Really makes you think what else our group will face and how they’ll handle future threats. Last person we’d expect to see during all THAT, is a Priest. 😂
That's what I tell every edgelord who thinks Rick is becoming Shane. Rick is the best, even at his worst. Whereas Shane is just the worst in every scenario. It's because Rick doesn't have an ounce of selflessness in him.
I usually say that I'm on Rick's side even though he's wrong, because he always thinks about the best possibilities to solve the impasse, so, that's right. It is a very real character, which grows with actions, reactions, mistakes, guilt, regrets, reflections, he observes, analyzes, feels, this character is very good, he is supreme.
In my opinion, this is one of the most underrated episodes of the show. Without giving any specifics, there’s some hidden foreshadowing in this episode that most people have overlooked. I also just love everything with Rick here. The way we get to see him be the alpha leader he is. Everyone’s loyalty to him and refusing to leave his group, him checking in on Carol and Tara to make sure they stay unified and on the same page. The way he interviews Gabriel, etc. it’s just a fantastic showing of his character in his leadership role.
Exactly, an excellent work of script and direction, with care in the smallest details, including twists. One of the most complete episodes that brought terror without needing much action.

The show has a wonderful ability to keep sentimental reminders of what the group has lost. You develop a sense of the group and their cumulative history, a sense of time that has gone by as seasons of the show continue. And it gives the viewers moments to reflect on their journey.

Seth Gilliam is great as Father Gabriel and while filming Walking Dead he was also in Teen Wolf a show that has surprised me with how good it turned out to be.
The actor who played Mrs. McCall on Teen Wolf was Tyreese's girlfriend (Karen?). Being used to seeing Deaton and his shadiness made it hard for me to trust Gabriel. 🤣

Totally on point about the props! I can say from experience as core background for over two seasons the details the prop masters have is insane. Everything down to the smallest prop is documented, even for background artists. Everyone and everything has a story, or adds to the story. The smallest detail is covered and the props are the some of the best and very authentic!
I frantically watched this show until this season, like, 2-3 episodes a day, then I slowed down. When I watched this episode for the first time, I was more sure of the great direction of the series that had at that time the right measure to surprise without leaving the story line. First we feel like there's something wrong with Bob, then he's captured and horror sets in when we know it was the cannibals in the sanctuary, then we vomit from disgust at how sick it is to know that one of our cutest characters ends up with his leg eaten by the disgusting human being. I really love this bow. Great Reaction.

I really like Daryl's "Whatever happened...happened." It makes me feel comfortable and sort of calm. I believe the line shows Daryl's emotional growth so far, as well as his growing ability to openly demonstrate care for other people (in this case Carol).

The actor who plays Tyreese (Chad Coleman) also plays another really interesting character in The Expanse. A show the two of you should really react to. It is one of the best sci-fi shows to come around ever. Much like TWD the setting is just a back drop. It is a phenomenal character driven show.
Father Gabriel! I love how "Zen" Bob is. Such a beautiful way with words and optimistic! I love how Carl is trying to transform and better himself, just seeing what type of person he can become as to choices with his father's guidance. Abraham is a bull and it's not so great to have two alpha males in the same groups. Love the tension of two beautiful beasts making sparks.
I like how Rick is slowly becoming Shane the very person he didn’t want to be like he bite a guy throat out sometime Shane would do and he mauled down the termite with a gun and a shank but the things he does gets a bit worse I’m not going to spoil it but he starts becoming Shane. That just goes to show Shane was ahead of his time.
This is the classic Reddit edgelord take. Rick is not becoming Shane at all. Shane was jealousy-ridden and overly emotional. Shane was not a respected leader, and Shane could never support the group and his family unit at the same time. Shane was sadistic when punishing wrondoers. Shane was willing to kill his peers to get ahead. Rick never had any of those weaknesses.
Shane was not "ahead of his time". Shane was too emotional to be a leader. Shane was too emotional for the apocalypse. He would have died within 6 months of the outbreak regardless of which group he was in.

I just realized. By not waiting for Sam to come back, he ended up in Terminus first. If he was missing from the baseball bat lineup, Glenn would've been killed right before Carol saved them. Carol saved Glenn by pushing Rick to go instead of waiting.
Comic Comparisons : This arc with the cannibals mirrors Volume 11 of the comics dubbed Fear The Hunters They do meet Father Gabriel just like they do in the comics In the show the leader of the cannibals is named Gareth but in the comics it’s Chris Bob doesn’t exist in the comics so instead it’s Dale who is still alive at this point in the comics.
I like watching reaction videos from a variety of accounts but you guys are my favorite for the reasons people have already named. I wanted to comment on how great the show does on developing so many characters whether they are going to survive long or not. They really don't telegraph who has plot armor and who doesn't. My only slight disagreement with your assessment of character tiers is Carl is one of my favorite characters. I love how the show portrays how young people can grow up fast in such a difficult environment. While Carl is physically not fully developed he is so capable for someone so young, and his courage is off the charts. He's top tier for me :)
Meghan deserved the A rating because her pure innocence brought out the good in the Governor. Also, the Governor's need to protect her with walls pushed him back to his worst. Her character showed us a nuance in the Governor's character we never knew could exist, especially in the apocalypse.
It's gotta have been a good 3 years or so now since the start for them. Judith alone is almost a year old and she was conceived a good three months in.
Re: the waterlogged walkers: I took a Criminalistics course, and my least favorite section was the one on "floaters". I dreaded every picture and discussion about the bloating, etc.
Life on the Rd for our survivors is at its peak right here. But this episode gives our group some time to catch their breath n kinda regroup. And now you've met Gabriel.. He's quite a character, n that's really all I can say about Gabe without giving anything away. I love Greg Nicotero's food Pantry walkers, their next level nasty, and I gotta say I'm very impressed that church lady walker was able to keep her glasses on. Lol. But seriously idk the answer to the question " should we help all "stranger's" in the Z/A? But I do know no good deed goes unpunished. oh dear I honestly forgot we had the leg bbq scene in this one already 😂 honestly wasn't this just one of the most messed up moments ever? Imagine someone eating your leg right in front of you... god that scene actually had me gagged the first time I've seen it but great reveal, definitely didn't think they'd eat someone who's actually still alive and (more or less lol .. tainted meat) well. Just adds another layer of messed up to Gareth and the rest of Terminus people. Rick was right, they didnt deserve to live. And we also got Father Gabriel this episode damn! The prison was only built for the walking dead. It’s NOT a real prison and Once the prison was officially “destroyed” by the governor, the walking dead team took the prison apart and used the space for something else

Not a spoiler but giving these characters a rank by the letter of the alphabet reminds me of a certain future episode. On a side note I think Rob & Trin might like 'Ride with Norman Reedus', Reedus' side prodject.

I am Christian, but I hate it when people say "The Word of God is the only protection I need" as in the bible, it basically says trust God, but you still have to work to survive. You can't just say "Please help me God" and then all of a sudden all your problems are fixed smh. Especially in a world like this which kind of fits with the rapture. Implying that at this point God, won't help you.

I like how Rick is slowly becoming Shane the very person he didn’t want to be like he bite a guy throat out sometime Shane would do and he mauled down the termite with a gun and a shank but the things he does gets a bit worse I’m not going to spoil it but he starts becoming Shane. That just goes to show Shane was ahead of his time.

Rick is not becoming Shane at all. Shane was jealousy-ridden and overly emotional. Shane was not a respected leader, and Shane could never support the group and his family unit at the same time. Shane was sadistic when punishing wrondoers. Shane was willing to kill his peers to get ahead. Rick never had any of those weaknesses.
Shane was not "ahead of his time". Shane was too emotional to be a leader. Shane was too emotional for the apocalypse. He would have died within 6 months of the outbreak regardless of which group he was in.
@@debhorne150 Yeah Andrea was an amazing judge of character. Trusted the Governor over someone who kept her alive for months. Followed her typical crap instincts and got herself killed. Shane and Andrea were too stupid and emotional for the apocalypse. They die early, no matter how you slice it.

I just realized. By not waiting for Sam to come back, he ended up in Terminus first. If he was missing from the baseball bat lineup, Glenn would've been killed right before Carol saved them. Carol saved Glenn by pushing Rick to go instead of waiting.

Comic Comparisons : This arc with the cannibals mirrors Volume 11 of the comics dubbed Fear The Hunters They do meet Father Gabriel just like they do in the comics In the show the leader of the cannibals is named Gareth but in the comics it’s Chris Bob doesn’t exist in the comics so instead it’s Dale who is still alive at this point in the comics.

I like watching reaction videos from a variety of accounts but you guys are my favorite for the reasons people have already named. I wanted to comment on how great the show does on developing so many characters whether they are going to survive long or not. They really don't telegraph who has plot armor and who doesn't. My only slight disagreement with your assessment of character tiers is Carl is one of my favorite characters. I love how the show portrays how young people can grow up fast in such a difficult environment. While Carl is physically not fully developed he is so capable for someone so young, and his courage is off the charts. He's top tier for me :)
Meghan deserved the A rating because her pure innocence brought out the good in the Governor. Also, the Governor's need to protect her with walls pushed him back to his worst. Her character showed us a nuance in the Governor's character we never knew could exist, especially in the apocalypse.
It's gotta have been a good 3 years or so now since the start for them. Judith alone is almost a year old and she was conceived a good three months in.
Father G!!!! Great character and arc he has! In for another great season. As this show is brilliant and currently at some of its best.
Re: the waterlogged walkers: I took a Criminalistics course, and my least favorite section was the one on "floaters". I dreaded every picture and discussion about the bloating, etc.

Life on the Rd for our survivors is at its peak right here. But this episode gives our group some time to catch their breath n kinda regroup. And now you've met Gabriel.. He's quite a character, n that's really all I can say about Gabe without giving anything away. I love Greg Nicotero's food Pantry walkers, their next level nasty, and I gotta say I'm very impressed that church lady walker was able to keep her glasses on. Lol. But seriously idk the answer to the question " should we help all "stranger's" in the Z/A? But I do know no good deed goes unpunished. oh dear I honestly forgot we had the leg bbq scene in this one already 😂 honestly wasn't this just one of the most messed up moments ever? Imagine someone eating your leg right in front of you... god that scene actually had me gagged the first time I've seen it but great reveal, definitely didn't think they'd eat someone who's actually still alive and (more or less lol .. tainted meat) well. Just adds another layer of messed up to Gareth and the rest of Terminus people. Rick was right, they didnt deserve to live. And we also got Father Gabriel this episode damn!

and Rob's burning passion for Gareth is absolute perfection 😂 honestly.. you guys' commentary absolutely kills me every time

The prison was only built for the walking dead. It’s NOT a real prison and Once the prison was officially “destroyed” by the governor, the walking dead team took the prison apart and used the space for something else

Sorry….the show is all about (father and son) Rick and Carl surviving in the Zombie Apocalypse!! The ONLY other people that is even close to “s” is Darryl (who is not even in the comic books) and Carol and Michonne……..That’s it. Looove your reaction to Bob though!

I am Christian, but I hate it when people say "The Word of God is the only protection I need" as in the bible, it basically says trust God, but you still have to work to survive. You can't just say "Please help me God" and then all of a sudden all your problems are fixed smh. Especially in a world like this which kind of fits with the rapture. Implying that at this point God, won't help you.
@@1CarolynK I get that, but working to achieve our goals while trusting in God, is the way I believe He wanted us to act. There are some exceptions I suppose, but I will stand by this.
