- What a privilege to travel to Estonia during the notable Tallinn Christmas markets, experience their unique culture and history, and bask in the beauty of shared appreciation for Christmas goodness. Snow, glögi, sausages, sweets and Christmas shopping.
The first moment we walked up to the Tallinn Christmas market had the bustle of locals and travelers alike were enjoying the smells of cider and gingerbread with Bing Crosby's rendition of White Christmas playing in the square just as snow went from a sprinkle to falling heavily.
You can't plan for a moment as quintessentially magical as this. This place was perfect.

My girlfriend is from Tallinn. I myself am from the Netherlands. And yes, it is a truly enchanting city with snow guarantee. Normally the Christmas market is a bit bigger and more crowded. Not too many tourists now in Estonia because of C-restrictions. But you did a great job at showing the atmosphere😊

Yeah the Helsinki-Talllinn 80km/50mi sea route is super busy (ok was pre-covid...) A lot of Estonians are working/living in Finland, plus the short day trips are popular. Now they are planning un underground rail tunnel between the cities, not sure how realistic.

My wife and I leave for Tallinn in ten days. Never been to Estonia and we are hoping for lots of cold and snow(we live in texas). Looks magical.

И помню многое , Ратушную площадь , ,, Длинного Германа ,, Толстую Маргариту ,, , Пирита , концерты на ,, Певческом ,, поле , гостиницу ,, Олимпию ,, , шикарный хлебный магазин в центре города , в универмаге ,, К -М,, у нас , северян , был специальный ,,вариант.,, , где мы могли приобрести себе интересные вещи , их не было на прилавках , и конечно же ресторан ,, Весна , /Кевад/ в здании универмага .... Были знакомые , а гитарный мастер Геннадий Йотаутас изготовил мне шикарную бас гитару ...
Не получилось стать жителем Эстонии , в начале 90 х всё рухнуло ... Я помню как в середине 80 х люди встали ,, Рука в руку,, от башни ,, Длинный Герман ,, и до Иван Города ... 600 километров... скандировали , Вабадуз ,, - Свобода!!!

You said what's so great about Tallinn at 1:30. It's an actual old town people live and do business in, without most of the ingenuine touristy stuff you see in other old towns. Also, wonderfully preserved.

Loving your video thank you. Quick question- did you find it slippery and tricky to walk on the ice when it was snowing? I have this fear of slipping over and breaking something, which would not be cool when on an overseas holiday!! Cheers. Happy travels,

We bought some good boots for the trip, but still slipped a little. Ice is always something to watch out for but if you keep your eye out for ice spots you should be okay!
@@AndrewandKait okay thanks. Yeah, I was in Sophia in Bulgaria in 2019 and discovered how slippery ice can be! Quickly realised you have to be selective where you step, that’s for sure! Hoping to discover Tallinn for myself too next year, fingers crossed!
