Public perception influences the Supreme Court? From a certain perspective, yes. I learned this from my law professor. Why is this the case? At the highest and widest level - judges often are looking not at what is individually fair but, instead, looking forward to the later consequences of their legal decision(s).
I have zero confidence in the court. There shouldn't even be an option to come close to having "conservative" or "liberal" justices. That is ideological which is political which is not impartial. The court is a political body. Fortunately people that exhibit intelligent and thorough integrity like Jackson can temporarily distract me enough - also reminiscent of our political marketing system..
Our best and brightest should have more relevance, perhaps on the merit of each case heard. Dissenting opinions are also important. Her life will have an impact that is for certain and inform the law.

So clearly the Supreme Court isn't a non political branch of government. Because if it were. Why do we label justices liberal or conservative? Their political affiliation should never be part of the selection process. Since it's pretty obvious that the supreme Court is a political branch of government. It should be held to the same code of ethics and standards as the executive and ledgislative branches of government. Starting with term limits!

Public perception influences the Supreme Court? From a certain perspective, yes. I learned this from my law professor. Why is this the case? At the highest and widest level - judges often are looking not at what is individually fair but, instead, looking forward to the later consequences of their legal decision(s).

I have zero confidence in the court. There shouldn't even be an option to come close to having "conservative" or "liberal" justices. That is ideological which is political which is not impartial. The court is a political body. Fortunately people that exhibit intelligent and thorough integrity like Jackson can temporarily distract me enough - also reminiscent of our political marketing system..
