Thats not a sports exhaust, thats the sports ‘tips’. The sports exhaust is oval shaped.
Secondly theres a little wing you need to press at the roofline manually to help eliminate the buffeting

I'm with Yuri, Targa all the way! When I was in elementary school my dad bought my mom a used 1975 911 Targa in pure white with black leather interior, and the contrasting white & black with the silver bar was just so striking, so gorgeous, I fell in love with the Targa at first sight, and never looked back. It had a manual and a great stereo, and my mom had what my dad called a 'heavy foot', especially on the Autobahns (I grew up in Germany, army brat), and we loved nothing more than roaring down the far left lane literally at that car's top speed with Elvis cranking thru the Blaupunkt... My mom and that Porsche were über-kick-ass!

to be fair, you guys mostly have dry heat. Many places in North America, especially on the Eastern part, are incredibly humid, and I can tell you that 50°C in the middle east, with no humidity, is much better than 35-40°C with constant humidity!
@@user-ym9sx6jt8m False. Come to Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi. Where ever. Humidity levels PLUS the temperature is absurd. In order for us to be somewhat cooled, our cars need to have very good A/C systems. When you drive on the road, ahead you can see ‘water’ from the humidity.

@@gglen2141 Fun fact, a space probe called the Mars Climate Orbiter was lost after launch because of a miscalculation. The engineers had failed to convert from imperial to metric measurements. This is what happens when one country decides to continue using an outdated form of measurement as opposed to the rest of the world which uses standardised units. Congrats

Those pipes are the ‘sport pipes’, not the ‘sport exhaust pipes’. They are just finishing tips that really don’t effect the sound or make the car louder in any way. See also at 10:33 on the main display, there is no exhaust button next to the spoiler function where it would be if it was equipped. (The sport exhausts have twin oval tips, not quad outlets)

I love the Porsche 911, and while turbo s is my dream car pick of the lineup, the targa’s styling is not to be underestimated. It is the style king of the lineup.
I absolutely love you two guys, your dynamic, your launch reactions, the energy in every video.
My favorite: the Targa4S in manual PTS Irish Green. Brown rooftop. Maybe with ceramic brakes if there’s any money left, but definitely with PDCC and rear wheel steering. Due to the high center of gravity.
I love these hosers! Always entertaining & informative to watch. I'd get 992 Turbo S until the 992 GT3 (manual) is available. Assuming I successfully robbed a bank or something.

I concur - I've got a 4S and it is RAPID. Not "too fast", but definitely fast enough.
It is so sad, that this exhaust here, which looks sooo nice, is not the sports exhaust...
Targa still my favourite Porsche for everyday driving to enjoy the best of both worlds. Dark Grey or intense colours such as red/orange/yellow look better with the shiny silver strip.

I absolutely love the 911 Targas. One of the members, big Porsche/Ferrari guy, at the golf club I work at had one on lease recently and every time he rolled in I got excited.

It doesn’t have the sport exhaust system, it has the sport exhaust tips. Meaning that it doesn’t make any difference in the exhaust sound... might be why you didn’t like the sound of the exhaust.

@@Brian-jv8iy try again, with the sport exhaust tips on the Carrera and not the carrera s it still is quad. You can check by configuring your own car.

My dad has a targa 4 gts in green and oh man.. the engine is insane it sounds so much better then the vacuum cleaner turbo s. With the top down its unreal
A buddy of mine had a 90s Porsche Targa, we put a small block 350 with a Cadillac front wheel drive transmission in the back and had to use a few cinderblocks to ballast the front but that sucker will scream! Always loved the target tops they still have some of that old-school 70s German look that Porsha has grown away from these days. Thanks for the videos, cheers!

I love the targa top, it's just more special and unique than the regular tops. I don't care if it's 1 tenth of a second slower because it's 5x cooler than a hard or convertible top.

Finally a review on a 911 Targa , my second fav 911 after Turbo S
History time: in the 60's there were fears that the US government would ban convertibles over safety concerns so many brands came out with T-tops and other designs to allow their customers to continue enjoying open-topped motoring.
These laws never ended up coming into fruition and by the 80's most brands had abandoned the design however it was so popular with Porsche customers that they decided to keep it in their lineup.
Bonus fact: The name Targa comes from a famous rally that Porsche used to dominate.
Bonus Bonus fact: Have you seen the new MX5 Targa which is based on the Porsche design.

Great video as always. Do not get an unrepairable flat tire in a 911 while you are far away from your house. Neither the Porsche dealer nor tire shops have these tires in stock. You will be staying at a hotel for a couple of days waiting for a new tire.

Probably the best all-around daily sports car for those who can afford it. The convenience of open-air when you want it, lightweight handling without the ugliness of 27 body scoops and wings, restrained, yet modern looks that don't scream "arrest me now". Not to mention the overall maturity and reliability of the 911 platform. And yes, if you are going to spend that money go for the S with a manual.
9:15, the BMW’s awd system isn’t the difference in their rear-ends stepping out, it’s more about the weight of the 911’s engine over the real axle that gives it so much mechanical grip.
One guy in Germany was ruled guilty by a court because he crashed in a Model 3 while using the screens to adjust the AC (if memory serves).
Apparently, even if most of the functions are on it and it's part of the car, it still counts as using an electronic device while driving. Since the car has other ways to control many functions (voice control I guess), the judge declared that he did in fact have an alternative to the screen and was thus at fault for the crash.
Love this car, my favorite for a daily hands down. Targa all the day.
Hey guys - I prefer the targa 4. While the 4S certainly giggles the upper realms of human propulsion, the ol' saying of driving a slow car fast has juuuust enough application here, that saving that extra $16K USD can pay for a ton of winter wheels and Burmeisters! Keep the sexy reviews coming!

I'm currently driving (not as a daily...MY18 GTI for daily), a MY17 911 Turbo and I love it. Here in Australia the jump from Turbo to Turbo S for the 2020 model is AUD$65k. Not worth it. I saved the initial spend and optioned better suspension and brakes. In 2023 I'm thinking Taycan 4S and pocketing the difference.

I'm glad Porsche slanted the targa bar back a bit, but it still disrupts the flow of the 911 shape.
Was watching some of your old videos till this new one pops up, the marathon continues.
Cabriolet to avoid the wind buffering that occurs. Plus you save some coin and get the full top down experience. I would also go 918 Boxster GTS instead. It is better than both.
I reviewed the 992 Carrera 4 and I found that it’s plenty quick. 90% of people will be happy with that amount of power. The petrol head in me would prefer the 2WD S model but the 4 is a heck of a car. I also did a comparison with the BMW M4
