I once had Brent come around a corner while my friend were waiting for our ride after a Mastodon show. He was shirtless, wearing no shoes, only blue jeans. He just asked us where to find good burritos around there, bummed a cigarette, and vanished into the night.
I think it's easier to understand if you just imagine that he uses every single modicum of productive energy he has on writing music. That leaves him on the verge of sleeping when he's doing anything else
I remember when Brent was in Four Hour Fogger. Actually, I was there because my friend Darren Sanders told me his brother played bass for this band and they are playing at Dotty's in Atlanta. There were only 12 people present at this venue and that included the bar staff.
They give him a super expensive gibson sg with the price tag still on it so it ends up being worth twice the value after brent is done playing the clinic
In the past year I have bought two Orange amps. I still have them. They make great sounding amps! I would recommend the Orange CR120 for anyone who plays hard rock or metal. It's a solid state amp but it sounds so good. It seriously sounds like a tube amp. And being solid state there is literally zero maintenance on it and it's cheap! Orange killed it with that amp and they already make killer tube amps.
Everyone hating on this clinic - It's Brent Hinds lmao, just who he is. He's doing alot better since he got married sobriety - wise tho. Genuine interviews from him are pretty rare to come by, so regardless of if this was supposed to be a gear clinic it's nice to hear him open up with real perspective and hear some life stories cause that never happens. Plus we all already know Orange makes great amps, and that Brent can play. Bill has some great gear interviews you could watch; he usually goes over his gear and Brents. He got that Orange rep real butt hurt grillin him about how he had the amps set up tho 😂😂😂 Dude obv doesn't know Brents " interview " personality.
As much as I love Mastodon, I am honestly glad I didn't attend this. This wasn't a guitar clinic, this was "listen to Brent's drunken rambling for 45 minutes." Would've been better if it was titled as that.
I mean I'm assuming he can he's in a hugely popular band. Like I've never heard an Orange amp sound that band and he's just being overall sloppy. I guess hes just kinda trolling in this video.
5:54 "Any man that stands with a guitar is because a black man stood first with one." Are you kidding me? Les Paul invented the electric guitar. He is a white man. Have you ever heard him play the guitar? Look up his videos. He's amazing.
I know my history. Yes there have been many black men who played the electric guitar. But there have been many white men who played the instrument, too. When a white man invented the electric guitar you can't give credit to the black man.
@ Sean Grimm... Really? Then who invented the acoustic guitar? What was that black man's name? You will not give me a black man's name because a black man did not invent the acoustic guitar. According to historians, the first acoustic guitar was from France or Italy. Black people did not live in those countries centuries ago. And anyway, if you can't come up with a specific name then your point is done. When it comes to rock and roll, Les Paul is responsible for that. Not black men. Les Paul invented the electric guitar. Period.
Stephane Beauchamp-Kiss it was an offhand comment. Don't turn into an SJW nut just because he mentioned he should lose weight. This is definitely not the place for that.
redskullz124 im just sayin heart disease is huge cause of death in America and i dont think you or me really want that. Im really sorry if i offended you im a huge fan of mastadon.
It's partly trolling. Brent's always ridicilously disoriented whenever he talks to any form of a media outlet. He was the most sober and sane in Making of Crack the Skye and in there, he seems overly excited and franctic. This is the guy who played in a commercial for that food joint he likes, Elmyr.
OK I love mastodon. But. Dude is incoherent. Sounds like he’s friggin drunk. It’s really irritating me. I really want to watch this video, but he makes no sense whatsoever. Verbal stumbling

Lmfao. "Coked up" is the furthest thing from how I'd describe his behavior. Brent is a weed and booze guy. He's just drunk lol you clearly have never been around coke and know nothing about it if you think he's coked up here

I think we all got suckered in by that Sabbath footage and that was like the only time Iommi ever used the Orange
And absolutely hated it (from what I heard)
Man what a beautiful guitar! I love the SG but this one...WOW!
Brent is a gift to humanity. Incredibly special human being that is one of a kind.
I love this guy! He doesn't give a fuuuuuuuuuu*k about corporate BS. Beautiful.
That was a awesome comment about paying homage to black guitarist.\../
Love this guy... So down to earth amd talented
Hes awesome, and goddamn that SG is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!
Brent Hinds the person and Brent Hinds' guitar playing have completely different personalities :D
Also 5:53 truth
This has been the best stand up ive seen online :D

Conor McGregor let himself go.
I would love to sit in on a clinic with that beast of a guitarist!!
If you don't think this is hilarious, you're a killer robot.
if orange makes him an amp, I'd buy it in a milisecond

Dirty B. Hinds is pretty clever. And yes, according to John Lennon the British are obsessed with bums.
